Kage has been my go to studio for over a year now. Besides the atmosphere and studio itself, Payton truly made the studio home for me. Her class was one of the first ones I ever went to and I absolutely loved it. I loved her use of props and the workout was perfect. It wasn't extremely challenging but also wasn't easy. Not only that, but she's also one of the friendliest people ever and makes everyone feel so welcome. Payton is truly passionate about Pilates and if it's your first time, I would definitely recommend going to her! I've brought all my friends to Kage and no one ever walks out disappointed. Kendell, the owner, is also the sweetest and you can tell that she's put a lot of time and effort into making Kage what it is. She truly cares about her clients and making everyone feel at home! I cannot recommend more.

I love this studio! I was looking for something new and fun so I decided to try them out, and now I'm hooked! I've been coming consistently since they first opened and I love the variety of class times and instructors available. I'm definitely a Pilates Girlie now!

They take the time to correct form, explain movements, and tailor exercises so you feel challenged and supported. I also really appreciate that all of Kor's instructors are trained and certified through highly reputable, internationally recognized programs such as BASI and Balanced Body. Their training and professionalism truly show in the quality of instruction and the attention to proper alignment and injury prevention. The community here is just as special -- the owners, Rebecca and Paul, are welcoming and genuinely care about everyone who attends Kor, and the other attendees are kind, encouraging, and supportive. It never feels intimidating, which makes it easy to stay consistent. After consistently attending both small group classes and private sessions with Tania and Lara, I've noticed a huge improvement in my flexibility and core strength -- movements that used to feel impossible now feel natural. As a bonus, I've also experienced steady weight loss, better posture, and fewer everyday aches. I especially appreciate the late evening (7:30pm!) classes offered during the workweek, which make it possible to fit fitness into a busy schedule without stress from my long commute. The studio itself is clean, positive, and motivating, but what really sets it apart is the instructors' expertise and encouragement. They make every session productive and enjoyable, whether you're brand new to Pilates or experienced. Highly recommend to anyone looking to feel stronger, move better, and actually enjoy working out!

The flow and class structure itself was good, and the instructor was good too. This was the first studio I've been to where you're assigned a reformer to use for the duration of the class, and I got assigned the reformer with absolutely no mirrors at all: None. I couldn't even see myself in the reflection of other mirrors. For my first time here, this made a terrible first impression. Luckily, I'm pretty good with my body awareness for coaching queues, and have experience with a reformer, but if you're a visual learner, and it's your first time trying pilates, or you're still not comfortable with it, it would have been very hard to keep up with the class. I'd suggest either adding mirrors to this area, or getting rid of this reformer altogether. Paying the same price as others for a sub-par experience is just not how you want customers to feel. The whole point of Pilates is to be aware of your movement and control: how can you do this, if you can't even see yourself? Even the instructor said I was doing good for having no mirrors, since "it's very hard to do without mirrors". Lastly, the platform on this reformer squeaked SO much. I feel so SO self conscious and bad whenever it would make a sound to the point where I stopped the workout altogether because I felt like I was detracting from others' experience: again, not being able to even complete a workout isn't what you want the customer's experience to be like. Overall, I would not recommend this studio based on my first experience. There's lots of other studios who made me feel like my money would be worth spending there, but not this one.

The instructor was super friendly, helpful, and encouraging. This is the most spacious studio I've been to so far in OC. Parking was easy too. I did have an issue with my reformer. The spring changes aren't hooks like most other machines. They're switches and mine got stuck on a heavy spring even though it looked like it was off. It's hard to tell because it's a switch. The reformers do look new and well maintained

I started with one class, then two, then three per week. Now I am on the unlimited plan and go as often as I can. The coaches: HBP only hires the best of the best. I've taken classes with Jillian (the owner, tough and brilliant), Madison (strong dance background, limitless energy, very kind), Lisa (all about precise technique, no nonsense), Peggy (strong yoga background, fun boot camp activities ), Imani (pro dancer, super chill but not easy, very cool music), Patrick (Marines style tough!!!), Dan (very detailed and helpful), and Sara (the most positive person in the world, great for beginners or advanced athletes). The facilities: All city owned venues. Murdy and Edison Community Centers- virtually identical, nice rooms Senior Center in Central- sparkling new facility, they have gear ready to use, super convenient City Gym - very cool old building, well maintained with hardwood floors, and showers!!! Edison is closest to my house, but the senior center is my favorite. You must be 55+ to use the gym, but group fitness rooms are open to all The vibe: All are welcome. This is a big deal for me and why I am a customer for life. All shapes and sizes, people with chronic pain, muscular, thin, plus size, young, old, it really doesn't matter... EVERYONE is welcome. They will customize your workout experience even in large classes. The coaches will make sure you are OK. If you have an injury, you will get modified instructions tailored to your needs. The other clients are very cool. Mellow, happy, joking, one big family. The coaches care about you and want you to reach your goals. The price: You get back so much more than you give. Also, you will not find more inexpensive classes at other local studios. Think Pilates is only for rich people? Not at HBP. The largest investment is your time. It's worth it. My recommendation: Sign up today. Start with Mat Pilates. When you are feeling stronger, try Lean & Fit and Barre. Take yoga if you need to manage stress (I do!) but know that all of the above classes help to reduce stress. You cannot go wrong with HBP! Thank you Jillian for all that you do for your clients!
