The atmosphere was very relaxing. The wait staff very polite and informative. The wine list was nice with several wines that I've never seen in the United States. My husband had the prime rib and it was prepared to perfection. I had the rib-eye steak and it was one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. If you're here reading a review for The Keg, chances are you ARE The Keg doing some PR, or you really haven't the slightest knowledge of the food scene in Halifax. If you're a tourist, there are many other places to get a better steak, better food, and better atmosphere, and a guaranteed reservation time. However, if your favourite breakfast is from Cora's, and Eastside Mario's is Italian to you, then you will love The Keg! It's predictable, consistent, and has lovely service. The atmosphere is oddly empty and feels like a bad movie set, just like every other chain restaurant you have been in. But the booths are big and it's not over crowded! So, if predictable food and a steak is all you want, and you don't care about bang for your buck, head to the Keg! It's always just fine, and it's always the same. It's been a good 15 years since I'd been to this Keg location (several others in Ontario since then). They just happened to finish renovating it, so my old memories are just that, in terms of the atmosphere of it previously. Present day: tried here over the holidays on a chilly, Tuesday evening and we were the first to arrive at 4:30 opening. Seated immediately in the room to the left of the entranceway, which has maybe 10 tables/booths and no windows. The same dark, very basic décor with one wall partially mirrored to give the impression of another room, some abstract art, wooden tables, nothing stand-outish. Classic, warm-out-of-the-oven fresh mini round loaf of white bread with whipped butter is always a favorite. The baked brie (with basil pesto and red pepper jelly. Served with crostini. $12) is very good and a satisfying appetizer, although you may need to request more crisps to account for the amount of cheese & dips. I combined this with the Caesar salad as my full meal since I am vegetarian, and this was good but loaded with fresh parmesan. This is a good thing. If I go back here any time, I'll try one of their other options mentioned where they essentially just remove the meat from menu items and fill them up with more veggies. My partner had his usual New York striploin and was definitely satisfied. Side of garlic mashed is consistently good. Very friendly service, although there was a bit of a wait for our server after our meals were served, to ask for more wine. So by the time she came back, I'd lost that mood for more and didn't order more. Would I go back? Sure, if it's someone else's tab. Ok. I heard that the Keg serves great steaks in the town before, so we tried it tonight. Two of us ordered Filet Mignon, and the other ordered Top Striplion. Filet Mignon tastes ok. BUT the Top Striplion is hard to cut even it is medium rare. We also had escargots and mushroom neptune as our appetizers. Desserts are horrible! Too sweet! I don't consider them as desserts. Omg, so good. From the garlic cheese bread and calamari to start with (the spicy sauce for calamari was outstanding) to the rib steak and lobster with twice baked potato, everything was amazingly good!!! Cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Love the heated drawn butter for the lobster too. The recommendation for rib steak was right on also. After experiencing perfection at the Keg in Moncton, I was terribly disappointed by the Halifax Keg!! -45 minutes wait- understandable on a Sat night. -The hostess was so RUDE. She never said a word to us and when she turned around to walk away, she had the most irritated, 'I don't want to be here' look on her face. You're a hostess- it's your job to smile. Way to sooth the 45 minute wait. - Medium steak was well done. They graciously took it back but I had to wait 15 minutes for my new one. My fiance's food was cold while we waited. -When it came back, it was rare! A steak house should know how to cook a steak. I didn't return it- didn't want to wait. -Our mashed potatoes had no flavor and the bread was really doughy. -The worst part was the restaurant. It is so outdated. It needs a reno-desperately. -When I got the bill, it was $85 for 2 meals and one Pepsi. Unacceptable. I would give this place another chance if it wasn't so expensive. -The Caesar salad was delicious and my server was very nice. They comped my drink because of the steak so there were a few positives. Having just reviewed The Keg in Moncton, I feel weird having to give such a drastically different take for this location of the same chain. After loving the gourmet salads and tempura veggie appetizers in New Brunswick, I was actually pleasantly surprised when we were given $150 in gift certificates for The Keg - quite the change for this vegetarian. By the time we went, I already had picked out what I was having and was looking forward to it. Then we arrived. Our server was stoic and not all that interested in providing us service that night. Questions went unanswered, drinks went unserved, and he made me feel like an idiot for noticing that the Halifax and Moncton menus are completely different - that is, the Halifax location only offered sweet potato fries and steamed asparagus for those of us who don't eat meat. I couldn't even order the Caesar salad that they offer as a side to steak for some reason along the lines of, "we only serve it as a side". No thanks. read more

My favourite meat in all the world, it's red, it's warm, it fall's apart, and we call it Steak. I take it medium rare, I just want it to be warm the whole way through, and a little bit bloody. And I tell's yah the Keg makes an F'n awesome medium rare steak. I love it here. Service is beyond exceptional, always smiling, always polite, always remembers what I/We order. The wine list is extensive the food is divine, the desserts are desserty! You just can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The Fillet Mignon, garlic mashed potatoes, and veggies is my favourite selection. The only thing keeping me from five staring the Hell out of the Keg, is the fact that it can be so damn busy some nights. They don't take reservations on the weekends, which I can't blame them, and it usually entails a 30 plus minute wait for a table. Most nights that wait is worth it. I know that when I go I am going to enjoy the whole meal and the whole experience, but I also know it's not going to be cheap. Not ridiculously expensive but not cheap. But go, enjoy the red meat, enjoy the wine, and enjoy the chocolate cake, and be ready to want to go back. Tell them Adam Dowe sent you! Look, it's good steak. I actually love the prime rib, and find it good value for money. I like the layout of this location: it's sort of compartmentalized, so they can hold a lot of people but each area feels quite semi-private. Some of the starters are hit and miss for me. The fried calamari was a little too breaded, and sweet with graham cracker crumble in it, and overwhelmed with jalapenos. But the warm brie was delicious with its jam and pesto. The service is usually good, and on my visit last weekend it was great. We had some minor allergy requests, but the server went almost over the top in identifying the provenance of all the ingredients, alerting us when she couldn't be sure, etc. My whole family left very full and happy. read more

I actually very much enjoy the Keg and am never disappointed when I go. First off we rarely go, usually after an occasion where we received numerous gift cards. But when we do, it is always packed with patrons, but the servers still seem to give you their individual attention. The food, always delish- yes, it is a little pricey- but I think that if you want a casual atmosphere with great food, this is it. Otherwise, for some other fantastic restos, they tend to require dressing up and may make you feel like you do not belong. Steaks are always juicy and cooked well. Be warned- medium well to them is still quite bloody (read their cooking chart provided in the menu). The sides, twice baked potatoes, asparagus, mushrooms- all very tasty. But most impressive to me was their appetizers and drinks. Their cocktail menu is awesome- and normal prices! Sangria is only 6.95 a glass and was very well done. The crab dip.....mmmm can't even tell you how great this was. My only bone is that their signature caesar salad (very much worth it) only comes free with about 4 entrees now. Odd that they are the cheaper entrees, but I didn't ask any questions because I was ordering from that menu anyway. I wasn't super wowed by The Keg. The food was good and the ambiance was pretty well what I expected. On a rare childless Friday night, the hubs and I decided to go down town for a bite to eat. We had a gift certificate for The Keg, so we thought we'd give it a try. I called to book a reservation, only to discover they don't take reservations on the weekend. We decided to give it a try anyway and were pleasantly surprised to walk right in and get a table. Our server was excellent. He was prompt and knowledgeable of the menu. Our salads arrived quickly and the house salad with the mustard vinaigrette was really very good. The salad was fresh and the house made dressing was arguable the best part of the meal. Our steaks arrived about 15 minutes later. I ordered the prime rib, which was cooked to perfection, and the hubs ordered the New York strip pepper steak. He found it a little too peppery, and I have to agree, although it was cooked exactly as he had ordered it. Otherwise the meal was rather unremarkable. The potatoes were dry and over cooked, and the asparagus shouldn't have even been on the menu. It was tough and bitter. Also I have to say that the food was pretty pricey. We were seated immediately, even though all members of our party weren't with us and were able to get the first round started. The beer selection is fairly limited, but the martinis were tasty and well mixed. They only had two dressings for the salad, but did not mind that I asked for oil and vinegar. I love steak. Mike loves steak. Somehow we didn't end up at the Keg until very recently. Go figure. It's a beautiful restaurant inside. Warm woods, lots of booths, low lighting, plenty of spacious seating. It's pretty big in there. The menu is extensive, with lots of variety for steak-lovers and those who'd rather have something other than steak. Extensive drink menu as well. Our server was friendly and professional. Prices were steep, but not as steep as we were expecting. So why only three stars? The food wasn't that great. We both ordered the top sirloin. I had mine with rice. The steak was done perfectly medium (as requested), and it was tender and a large cut, but it had zero flavour. Like, did they even sprinkle some salt and pepper on there? The rice wasn't very good (and I've had great rice in some restos). The whiskey peppercorn sauce I ordered was more like a bland gravy. Even the bread they brought after ordering had an odd taste. I thought perhaps they were going for sourdough but somehow missed. Dessert was very good. Even though it's all from a truck, the brownies and ice cream were delicious. They were huge as well. I visit The Keg about every eight years. This week was my husband's birthday so the whole family went for supper. I called around 6:00 to make a reservation only to be told that they were not taking anymore reservations until 8:15, but that there were plenty of tables open. So we rolled down there and were promptly seated at a table for six (party of four). Sure enough the place did fill up closer to the Avril Lavigne concert, but still a little strange to be told to come on down. My husband and I both ordered the 8 oz. sirloin steak. The house salad it came with was obviously premade and nothing special although the dressing was tasty enough. The steak and fries were a-ok as you would expect at this steakhouse although they could use an extra small serving size of 4-6 oz. as a menu option. The kids had chicken fingers which are difficult to mess up. While the décor is certainly lacking (it's like eating in a decommissioned sauna circa 1978 crossed with a salad bar-less Ponderosa), the service was A-1 . Our server was exceptional, going above and beyond to keep us and especially our crabby 4-year-old happy. She made sure we weren't waiting between courses and that our waters were topped up. For the price, the experience is kind of strange. Steak with French fries and a mediocre salad for $20+. Yet, I can see the attraction of the predictable chain menu and the fact that the steak is good quality. I'll probably be back in eight years. read more

What ever happened to the "good ol' stand by"? The Keg may not be exotic, but it's usually a pretty safe bet in terms of decent food (albeit rather pricey), comfy atmosphere, and friendly wait staff. But tonight was altogether different. Really disappointing...especially because I literally starved myself today in anticipation of a major feast. I just got home and am still hungry...because I didn't get to actually EAT supper. Grr.... As usual, despite arriving ridiculously early (5:00 pm), we still couldn't even get a table for two in the dining room and had to sit in the lounge, which was fine I suppose, except for all the TV screens broadcasting sporting events which I really don't think makes for a good girls' night out ambiance. Anyway... Our server was crusty and impatient, to the point that I almost asked her if she was angry at us. Because I felt so pressured, in haste I ordered the prime rib sandwich, expecting a succulent open faced prime rib melt on a fresh garlic baguette. Big mistake. After taking the top off my sandwich, I could barely saw through the bread with my gigantic steak knife, it was that tough. And speaking of tough, the prime rib was not only bland but it was hard as leather. Don't get me started on the fries - clearly of the frozen bulk persuasion and so greasy that after 5 or 6 I thought I might hurl. So I very politely told our server why the meal was unacceptable and sent it back, and while eventually I found out that she did take it off the bill, she was still completely unapologetic and made it very clear that it was against their "no refunds" policy. Yeesh. Sorry! Then I decided to order the "Sweet Treat Trio" desert, hoping to at least end the "meal" on a good note. Mistake number 2. You know when you store something in the fridge, uncovered, next to something like, oh, I don't know....a big slab of sea bass or a plate of raw scallops, and then that first something ends up tasting like the other? It was kind of like that. Gross. The only reason I am giving 2 stars rather than 1 is that the garlic shrimp appie was pretty frigging tasty and at least my girlfriend and I were able to have a good laugh at my misfortune....oh, and her meal was yummy so that was somewhat redeeming. Went to the Keg last night to celebrate my birthday, the atmosphere was okay. However the food was absolutely awful. I ordered a medium rare steak that was just rare, I do expect grill marks on my steak and this was not the case. The steak tasted like it was pre cooked and simply warmed up in the microwave. My side was cauliflower MASH, no mash at all just shredded cauliflower. My glass of wine came to $9, for a wine that costs 13$ a bottle at the NSLC. This place is very overpriced, I had 10x better steak on the BBQ at home. I will absolutely not return and recommend to everyone to stay away and dont waste your money here. read more

This is my second go at the Keg. I'm not a big steak eater, so this place is never my first choice for a fancy meal. I say fancy meal, but each time I've come here, people have been over the top casual. Like come on people... it's not that cheap to eat out, at least pretend you're going out on a date night and dress up a little. Let's leave the dirty sneakers and hoodies at home and put some effort into it. This isn't McDonalds. I say this, but my mom totally wore sneakers last night. I love her so I over look this. We tried about every app on the menu (see photos). I would have to say, the stuff mushrooms were among my fav appetizers, as well as the bacon wrapped scallops. My least favourite was the escargot. It was drowning in a pesto, or something. Very over powered by whatever sauce it was covered in, aka the butter and pesto. Which normally, I'm all about the butter, it just didn't work for me this time. My mom loved the bree, and I found out I'm not a bree fan. I must be the only person on the planet. I could take it or leave it. We finished the meal with a crème brule mini dessert - loved this. The mini size is perfect for a little bit of sweet after a meal. We also ordered the cherry cheesecake. I liked it, my mom wasn't completely sold. I really enjoyed the dark lighting, it would be a great place for a date. You kinda need that dim lighting to give your face that nice blurred smooth finish. At least I do. To smooth out all my rough edges and monster like features. A birthday gift card led us to try The Keg for the first time. After perusing some of the Yelp reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. Here's how it went: Pros: - This place is much larger than it appears from the outside and the decor is pretty nice. - We arrived around 4:45, which meant that we were immediately seated and served. - Our waiter, Matt, was very pleasant and helpful - he explained the menu to us (very helpful for a first-time visit) and served us our bread and meals in a timely fashion. - Delicious bread to start things off. - Portion sizes were larger than we anticipated, so keep this in mind if you normally enjoy filling up on bread/salad/appetizers prior to your entree. - Good food. I wouldn't call it spectacular, but it was good. Cons: - I couldn't believe how packed the place was upon the end of our meals - we could barely get to the door. You will end up waiting a long time for a table if you arrive after 5:30. - Prices are very steep. I wouldn't say it's a complete rip-off, but we were grateful that we had a gift card to take a chunk out of the bill. - The rice pilaf was bland. - Given the restaurant's downtown location, parking was nothing short of a nightmare. - This is not an appropriate restaurant to bring children to, yet there were tons of very small children running around the whole time. The Keg is not someplace I would normally go, but I was with was a group who at the last minute decided to come here for dinner. It was busy and we didn't have a reservation, but we got in without too much of a wait. I will say we had five star service, our server was friendly and attentive. On a whim, I ordered a pina colada which I hadn't had in years, and it was really delicious. That's where the good ends.I love a good bread course, but the whole table was in agreement that the bread, while nice and warm was utterly tasteless, I think they forgot to add any salt at all. I had the garden salad, which was fine, if a little on the dull side. For my main, since I don't eat steak, I decided to try the grilled thai chicken dish. It was awful, the chicken was tasteless and rubbery, like it was frozen from M&M meat shops. I know what some of you may be thinking, "that's what you get for ordering something other than steak at a steakhouse". That's fair, but I feel if you are going to have an alternative on the menu, do it properly. Don't just slap a dish on the menu as an afterthought. I rather it not be on the menu, I'll order dessert and eat when I get home or elsewhere later. This is what I will do next time I'm invited to the Keg. read more

I hadn't been to the Keg in a long time, when my partner and I decided to go for a meal a few Saturdays ago. We arrived a little after 5 o'clock and were surprised to be led right to a seat. Had we have been a few minutes later, we would have had a wait. We both ordered caesar salads as appetizers. He decided on the Filet Mignon, and after briefly considering chicken, I decided upon a top sirloin. It is my belief that when you are in a steak house, you order steak! As stated in other reviews, they both came with veg and choice of starch. We opted for the garlic mashed potato. Everything was fantastic. The salad was superb, with slices of fresh parmesan perched atop. Our steaks were cooked to juicy perfection, with just the right amount of seasoning. The potatoes and veg were great. It was under $100 for our meals, and a beer for myself. This included tip. It was worth every penny. I only hesitate at a 5 star review because our server seemed a little disinterested and wasn't terribly friendly. That being said, his service was efficient and fast! Read this carefully!!!!!! A group had supper on a Saturday and were afforded great service by Jeff the service. Meals were hot and on time. Probably the best meal our group has had at the Keg. Near the end of the evening is where my opinion of the Keg changed. I was beckoned over by a gentleman at the bar who was the owner. He proceeded to call me and my staff down saying we were always trouble when dine there and so are other parties from our company that show up. We had done nothing wrong and were never told to be quite once by the staff. Ruined a great night for myself and my staff. Won't be back! He is an offensive man and the Keg Franchise should know. I love the Keg - it's my little slice of heaven that I treat myself to every time I finish up a semester and do well....or if don't do well to cheer myself up. Haha. I've never left the Keg unsatisfied and I've gone down and tasted most of their steaks. I've had them with fries, mashed, baked potato, you name it - I've had it. The double baked potato isn't that great though. As a secret to all my Yelper friends - they recently took the Nachos off the menu because they found that it would slow things down in the kitchen - however, on the bar side, they have different menus where you can order them. Point is, if you want Nachos, they're not on the regular menu, but you can still ask for them. Which you should - because they're delicious. Waiters, hostesses, chefs, etc. have all been super friendly, attentive, humorous all that good stuff! Never left the Keg disappointed. read more

The Keg is one of those places I will gladly go to, at the suggestion of someone else. If it's left up to me, I'll usually choose somewhere different for a steak dinner. My most recent trip to this particular location was to celebrate a friend's new job. We had a good time, but it was nothing to write home about. It was a 20 minute wait on a Saturday evening which was expected, but the waiting area is barely conducive to keeping 4 or 5 waiting guests comfortable. Considering there were between 15 and 20 including us, there was limited seating (the bar was full) and way too much congestion in the entry way. We couldn't stand anywhere without getting in the hostess's way, or being awkwardly close to people already dining. Our server was very nice and accommodating. He wasn't speedy, but considering the place was full, I believe he did his best in the circumstances. He was able to suggest some good virgin drinks for my pregnant friend which made her happy. I find they don't bring bread to the table unless you ask for it these days. I'm not sure if this is a new policy or not. My steak was nicely cooked and I always enjoy the garlic mashed potatoes. Another friend had opted out of the dinner because of a pricey perception. My bill was less than $30 which is what I would pay at most restaurants so I find that unless you're drinking, you can have a reasonably priced meal. That being said, the friend with the new job did order drinks which were outrageously marked up. I've read in a few other reviews that this location hasn't done justice to other venues, and I agree. The first time I ever went to The Keg was in St. John's, Newfoundland and I had a wonderful experience that set high expectations in terms of food and service for when I returned to Halifax. Went to The Keg with 3 friends a couple of weeks ago. We've been meaning to write a great review about this place as we had a wonderful night out. We were served by a very polite girl who made our evening special. She joked with us, suggested drinks and meals when we had trouble deciding, and was very proficient in ensuring that our meals were cooked to our preferred doneness. My girlfriend and I both had a "Filet Classic Dinner" which includes* salad to start. I had the caeser salad, it was delicious! The shaved parmasean on top really makes a difference. My filet steak was cooked perfectly and I had a double baked, baked potato with cheese on top which was so good. When it came time for dessert, we were all stuffed to the brim but when she suggested a "Sweet Mini Trio" we couldn't resist. We shared the 3 mini desserts and it was the perfect amount of sweet to finish off our meals. We will definitely be returning to The Keg. read more

The Keg does it again! 5* from the Lohnes clan. Usually on a Sat night we end up with a 35-40min wait. However on this visit we arrived at peak supper time rush. We were told 30mins. Waited about 5mins and were seated! Score!!! I ordered a Belini(instead of my usual Keg fav-- The Ceasr). Holy Hannah. If you have not tried this, I encourage you too. I can see those things being lethal. They are sooo tasty. I decided to give the Zesty Salmon a try for once- as I am typically a Terryaki Steak girl. The Salmon was cooked perfectly. A nice crust on the outside and cooked well on the inside. Very tasty. As per usual The best Keg dessert: Billy Miner Pie did not leave us disappointed. Our server was whitty and fast. I have been to this Keg (and others) at least 30 times in recent years, and I'm normally extremely satisfied with everything. I get the same order every time (why mess with a good thing?) and have always been happy with it. However, I went a couple weeks ago and was quite disappointed. I ordered my usual top sirloin with garlic mashed potatoes and all seemed well until I started into the steak. It was burnt, not a good burnt. And it was so fatty! I have never had a fatty steak here and couldn't believe it. I don't mind a little bit of fat on a steak, obviously. But, this was a lot. I had to cut it off and was left with a literal handful of fat on the side of my plate. It looked like 1/3 of my steak was gone! The burnt taste was not pleasing at all, and I was just overall very disappointed. I mentioned the issue to the waiter and he took the charge for my beverage off the bill, which was nice but didn't really help anything. Anyway, I'm quite saddened as this was my #1 restaurant in Halifax and I would always recommend to everyone coming to visit. Much better experience then last year. We both got great cuts of steak, BF got the baseball sirloin and i myself got the top sirloin. Perfection! Twice back potato was delish like last time! My one complaint is the lack of cocktails they had, I know it's more of a wine bar but 3 martinis and 4 basic cocktails? Maybe someday they'll have better ones. Also had the brownie desert. When I was a kid we often went to The Keg for family dinners, but as an adult I have only been one other time. The bf and I decided to go for our Saturday night date this past weekend and we were very pleased with the food and most of the service! Yes, expect a wait on the weekends when you go here, and they don't take reservations on Friday and Sat. Already prepared with this info, it didnt throw me off. We were told a 45 minute wait and we just hung out in the car having a chit chat beforehand. We went in at the 30 min mark and were seated only moments after, in a booth for two on the lounge side. It was perfect for us that night. The hockey game was on, music was playing but the atmosphere and service made it feel like it was just that extra bit of special. The caesar salad was great, fresh shaved parm makes the difference here. A fresh mini-loaf of bread was served along side the salad, and it was piping hot and as bread is my fave food - it was heavenly! I had the grilled top sirloin with garlic mash (served with asparagus and roasted peppers) and the bf had Sirloin Oscar. Both were cooked perfectly to our specification and we had lots of good things to say as we ate. We had also ordered the truffle mac n' cheese to share, but it never appeared at our table! The server was apologetic, but also run off his feet so no offer to reduce the bill or make up for it was made.I was ok with that, as we were pleasantly full from the rest of the food. The universe was helping us out on that one. We decided to have dessert, shared the chocolate cake (amazing!) and creme brulee (I dont think I like creme brulee!) and went home perfectly stuffed, happy and ready to return in the future. read more

Love the place! Went for my Anniversary in November. The place where we sat was amazing. The waitress was great as well giving suggestions and checking in with us. My first experience time at The Keg was celebrating my 16 th birthday. It was memorable for me then celebrating with my sister and her husband. It's one of my favourite places to go!!! I have to say for all the hype this place receives I don't know why.. This was my second visit to the Keg, and I can't really remember my first trip since it was so long ago... The bf and I opted to go here for Valentine's Day since we received $50 in gift certificates for Christmas. I had called to make reservations, but alas they do not take them for 'special occasions'. When we arrived at about 8, after looking for parking for about 15 minutes (which we couldn't find so we opted for the parking garage) we were told it would be about a 45 minute to an hour wait.. OK, we decided to wait. We we're seated in about that time. We ordered the Baked Brie from the Winter Grill menu to start. I LOVE brie and enjoyed this appetizer - it came with a pesto cream sauce and spiced jelly. The flavors were great together. I had the seafood and steak with rice as my main, and the bf had steak and fries. We both enjoyed our meals - the steak was cooked to our liking so no complaints there. Although there was nothing special about it either.. I had forgotten how dark it is in there. The lighting is very dim and the dining room is very loud. We found that we almost had to yell at each other over dinner. But, it was busy, so very understandable What I found was really lacking was the friendliness - we had very little interaction with our server. He came and went, no enthusiasm, no extra conversing. For me, this is what really makes a dining experience a good one. So in conclusion, I'm undecided... There wasn't really anything wrong with our evening out at the Keg, but really there wasn't anything that would make me enthusiastic about returning... read more

Went with the girl on a Tuesday night at 5. Place was getting busy for the leafs hockey game that was in town. I ordered the 6oz steak and lobster with garlic mash, and she had teriyaki serious. We both left full and satisfied. The service was great and the food arrived in a timely manner. . . In and out. One hour. I'm not sure it would be the same on a Friday or Saturday night around 6pm. I've eaten here a few times on my last few trips to Halifax and my experiences were all pretty good. Steak is obviously the best option, but since it was lobster season this year, I also had the half lobster, which is pretty hard to mess up. Everything was really tasty, and the steak was very tender and cooked to order. The service was a little slow, but I did have a big group so that's to be expected, to a degree. The only complaint I had was that I had to ask often to have my water glass refilled. Since we were there for a while and spent a lot of money, this seems like a fair request. read more
