We had a great meal! The atmosphere was wonderful. The steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. The service was excellent. All the servers were attentive and provided outstanding service. We enjoyed the bacon Mac and cheese as a side. The table made Caesar salad was very good. The desserts were all delicious! For the excellent food with top notch service, visit Cut! read more

Wow! One of the fanciest meals I've ever had - and my first time trying aged beef. I loved the flavor, it reminded me of cheese somehow, extra nuanced for sure. We got a few appetizers to start - the shrimp, oysters and scallops - all very delicious. We each got a steak and shared the broccolini, asparagus, mushrooms, and roasted potatoes among 4 of us. It was a wonderfully decadent evening, and I would definitely dine here again. read more

The service and steak was phenomenal! Our waiter was extremely helpful to cater to our strange requests, and the steak was amazing. I got the tenderloin and my husband got the bone-in rib eye from Alberta. I loved his the most, it had so much flavor. My only complaint was the wait time. We were waiting for a very long time for our dishes to come out, but when they finally came out it was absolutely amazing. read more

I don't eat beef, hubby does, but, it doesn't matter at all. Delicious food, in a fancy atmosphere, where you can still be yourself. Our server Keith gave excellent recommendations, and was very friendly. The staff, while giving superb service (switching plates/cutlery with every course, placing you napkin in your lap, etc), maintained friendly and welcoming attitudes, up to and including the fresh baked goods they offer as a gift on your way out. This may be the most I've paid for a meal to date in Halifax, however, the Cut may also provide the most value for your dollar. I look forward to a future visit. read more

The Cut Steakhouse in Halifax, Nova Scotia had delicious locally raised and marvelously aged steaks. The accompaniments were "mmmm" inspiring too. Their cocktails and creme brulee was next level too. And finally their mixologist "Matt"and server "Johnathan"were 10/10. We highly recommend this place for fine dining if you visit the Atlantic region. read more

Perfect spot for date night. This steakhouse is legit. The food was delicious, high quality, and cooked perfectly. The service was exactly what we wanted - the staff helped us with everything we needed but didn't linger. The location is prime and near other downtown attractions. We will definitely return to this place. read more

We had dinner that can only be described as a top-notch pure culinary adventure. The Cut Steakhouse & Urban Grill have the best aged steaks in Halifax. The Natural beef on the menu here comes from grass fed, organic, hormone free cattle. The steak ( Alberta superior Beef, USDA Prime Certified Angus Beef, Nova Scotia Organic & Top Australia beef ) is a pure Ambrosial experience. The delicious steaks have perfect marbling, and melts like butter when you sink your teeth into each succulent morsel. Appetizers and side dishes offered cover a span from salads to the Lobster Mac & Cheese ( that's right I said it, and you need to have it!), to the Carpaccio, that is Serve with a drizzle of infused oil, black pepper, capers and some parmesan shavings that leaves you salivating for more. For dessert, we had the no flour Dark Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, cut strawberrys and black coffee. This dinner, combined with a delicious full-bodied red wine, first rate chef, superior top-notch waiters and staff, bring a gastronomic symphony together of high-quality, scrumptiously satisfying food that leaves you blissfully full. If you want a great dining experience, look no further. Cut Steakhouse & Urban Grill takes on all steak joints in the Halifax area. read more

I took my new spouse Tara to the Grill for the first time this week. It has been one of my favorite spots in Halifax for dinner with friends. I've even hosted my book club meetings here before. We were early for the dinner hour arriving on a Thursday night just after 5pm. We were the only the ones there until just after 5:30 or so. It was quiet and sun filled in the restaurant for the early dinner hour. I'm looking forward to their outdoor patio seating opening as the weather gets warmer. I had my favorite appetizer - the Grill's Chopped salad. It has a spicy chipotle dressing over fresh chicken, avocado and greens with some crunch from blue tortilla chips. Its delicious and filling for a reasonable $11. I also had their entree Chicken Tikka. The chicken was served on a gorgeous long white platter with a rice and green pea pilaf and small samplings of their cold salads, and a treat of butter toasted naan corners. Tara and I both enjoyed the Chicken Tikka - it was perfectly done. Tara had what I would declare one of the best burgers in Halifax. The single ground BBQ burger. She requested hers lettuce wrapped, but you can get your choice of bun). The BBQ burger comes with The Grill's house made giant onion ring on top - amazing! You can also get these as a side dish with your choice of dip! The burger was meaty, flavorful and delicious not to mention perfectly cooked. She also ordered side of The Grill's coleslaw which was fresh and delicious. (yes we do sample each other's food...privileges of being married I say!) I've found that when dining for two no reservation is usually required at The Grill. We opted out of ordering a drink from the bar and both of our meals together came out to just over $50 (including the tip for our waitress who was friendly and provided excellent table service). Maybe not your first choice if you're on a budget, but for high quality dining at a reasonable price I definitely recommend The Grill and both Tara and I are looking forward to our return. read more

Lovely ambiance and aesthetically awesome, Cut Steakhouse steps up the usual meat retreat with a little more prestige. Its got its own in-house "butchery", where they dry age beef for 35 days prior. To satisfy your sweet teeth are also complimented from scratch, with a housemade chocolate bar, a crepe tower, or a trio of housemade ice cream cones. I suggest the ice-cream, with its artistic glory of goodness that come in sample sized options. As a fish-only meat eater, the steakhouse does not appeal to my own palate, but the atmosphere and service make it quite lovely. Friends or family will take me this way every so often, and I always manage to find something yummy. The resto prides itself on custom-made recipes and flavourful indulgence. From my own tastings I cannot complain, and with the clear emphasis on meat from the get-go, this is just not a spot I frequent regularly. Great service, hot spot, great desserts. read more

Someone who is running this restaurant is harassing me...because they ruined my valentines day long ago, when I booked well in advanced (first, actually) and they removed me from the seating plan. Franklin's actions make no sense. I admired I liked the overpriced waygu, but since purchase mine direct from Atlantic Waygu inn PEI. Reach out to them on facebook for a great deal. To start, we were judged as soon as we stepped up to the hostess stand. The hostess said to the effect that some people can't afford our prices, obviously thinking we couldn't. No we weren't dressed in evening gowns and tuxedos, but we have been at far more expensive restaurants without being judged. Horrible impression. Obviously we are going elsewhere where our business could be appreciated. I guess that's why all the tables were empty... good business ethics. read more

Went there for my birthday dinner and The Cut totally exceeded all expectations. The waiter was very knowledgable about the various origins, marbling and cuts of the steaks available! Feeling the need to take advantage of my birthday present, I ordered the tenderloin and was very impressed with the accompaniment of dressing and seasonings. My butter knife was not over-used. The side dishes were exquisite, and the environment was very classy! Furthermore, though the meal was extremely expensive, it was worth it because I left feeling full and absolutely content-something almost impossible to succeed when fine-dining. read more

As a non-steak eater, I anticipated that Cut wasn't going to be a sure-thing for me. And it almost got two stars, but willing to accept that likely some of what I sound lacking is my own fault, so it mosies up to a three. Had the prix fixe lunch there yesterday, and it is a great deal -- $17 for a bento box-like lunch, with lots of different options. If you're not into red meat, the options get a bit narrower and if you're in a rush (as I was), the chicken takes a long time, so that whittled me down to two choices. A little disappointing, but not outrageous, considering it's a steakhouse. I ordered a mozzarella and tomato salad and the leek quiche as my hot option. The menu states that the tomatoes would be grilled, but alas no. And October tomatoes in NS need something to perk them up, these were just watery with very little flavour. Grilling them would've been really nice. It also likely would've melted the mozzarella ever so slightly, which may have made the salad a winner. As is, very blah and bland. The quiche was a bit more enjoyable, but I didn't get the huge sense that leeks were involved in any real way. It looked like all spinach to me, but it was hot, I was cold and I kinda didn't care. There didn't seem to be any real pie crust either -- whatever was the "pastry" at the bottom was just a weird gloopy mess. Didn't taste bad, but not the greatest quiche, that's for sure. Likely won't be coming back to Cut unless I expand my eating habits. Way better options out there for this picky eater. But if I was a big meat eater, I'd likely give it another try. read more

Really wanted to like Cut as we eat out a lot, and are always looking for good experiences, but was sadly disappointed. Opted for the best ribeye Australian Wagyu steak; it was tender, but the sauce was runny and have had better flavour elsewhere to be honest. The asparagus was thin and arrived cold, the potatos were just lukewarm. The octopus was just ok. The spouse had the scallops, ok; shocked that the gnocchi honestly looked and tasted like tator tots; fried, crispy square potato tots, so didn't eat them and they did comp them. The brussel sprouts were different/ok. Her custom drinks were nice. The server was nice. The decor was fine. It is a very small restaurant. The meal was over 500 but was nothing to write home about. We don't blink an eye spending money on good food but this just wasn't a great meal, nothing was delicious, and a bit hard on the stomach afterwards. So unfortunately as much as we looked forward to it, we just cannot recommend. read more

This is more like a 2.5 star review, though the service was lovely- also think it's important to right away state I don't eat steak. My first experience with Cut was at the Grill for the a late dinner. First off on their drink menu I love that they have Fruili beer, it's as close to Kriek as I can get in Nova Scotia. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and a side of fries. The fries were fine, and were a large portion, though had I known they were beef-eater style I probably would have passed on them. The fries were not needed however because I felt the main was large enough for me. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the rice and salsa were nicely presented. I felt I got a good deal for my $12. After having a positive experience, I was looking forward to my dinner at the upstairs steak house. It's a small dining room, sleek with large comfy chairs. The bread arrived first, a basket with the tiniest two pieces of butter ever, and I was pretty disappointed to discover the honeycomb pattern on the bread which meant it was mass produced, likely bought frozen and "baked" I understand not ever restaurant is capable of making awesome bread, but if you consider yourself a high end restaurant, than at least order some fresh bread from some of our awesome local vendors, I wasn't super hungry so I skipped the app, though it was apparent from others at my table that the salads were huge. For the mains, I will say everyone who ordered steak was very happy with it. I ordered the poussin, and it was very tender if lacking in flavour a little. The chicken arrived solo on the plate looking a little lonely, because the sides are ordered and served seperately. I tried the vichy carrots, the cut pomme de terre and the onion rings. Everything tasted fine, though nothing stood out, and because you serve yourself family style you miss out on a beautifully presented plate. Dessert however was a winner, I chose the Strawberry Shortcake, I'm not a lover of the traditional NS style shortcake, but I really enjoyed Cut's version. It had a shortbread base instead of a biscut, and had ice-cream instead of whipped or Chantilly cream. Also you get a take home gift of walnut banana bread which made for a nice breakfast the next day. I guess for me, I found that while I liked everything I ate (except for the bread) there was nothing special enough about it. If I'm paying $100+ for my meal, I want to feel as though it is money well spent. It was a little too meat and potatoes for me, I could make the same meal at home for cheaper etc. The minor details and presentation is really important to me when it comes to eating at a special occasion spot. read more

Every time I eat at Cut, I wonder why I don't eat at Cut more often. The atmosphere - excellent, the view - gorgeous, the service - stellar, the food - what's another word for "OMG?" The Grill at Cut has a varied and affordable by-the-glass wine list (3 or 5oz glasses available), and an even wider selection by the bottle. As for food - I've never tasted anything I wouldn't eat again. Everyday. Three meals. My top picks: lobster poutine (seriously, it's the best menu item in the city), beet salad, kobe burger with applewood cheddar, and any steak, anytime. As an added bonus, lunch service is quick, and the place is usually fairly quiet - great if you're doing business (and better if you have an expense account). read more

Every time we drive by this place, my wife points and say's "that's one of my favorite restaurants"... I'm still learning my way around this beautiful city and all the places to go for a good meal. I'm not much of a "fancy" restaurant type person. I get nervous that I'm going to trip over something, knock something over or forget which fork goes with what food item so The Grill seemed a little out of my comfort zone... That is unless you go when the place has yet to have any patrons and you have the entire place to yourself (*pumps fist in air* and shouts a loud "Yhea Baby!"). She ordered the chop salad (delish and spicy - double plus bonus for spicy goodness) and Chicken Tikka (this was really really good...here let me add another really that because it was that good). Being out of my comfort zone I opted for the good old ground BBQ burger... (excuse me while I take a moment to daydream about it) .... .... .... Okay back. Do yourself a favor and just order one of the burgers. I added a side of coleslaw that was a great light compliment to the deep flavor of the BBQ. I imagine that it would be a "dressier" establishment later in the evening but we went very early in the evening (5p). I was dressed very relaxed (jeans and flip flops). The tables are close together so I would also gather it would be louder than what we experienced. A little pricey but the quality of food and service made the monetary impact seem worth while (not to mention the smile on my wife's face!) read more

The hype for this place is definitely not warranted - unless you're used to paying a lot for your food. With an afternoon cozied up with my Bon Appetit magazine, I could have cooked it better myself, really! My husband and I dolled ourselves up and were excited to spend an evening here, gorging ourselves to delight. We were promptly seated and had a glass of wine from their ample list, and we were wowed with the menu - everything looks and sounded so good. I will admit - I ordered the tomato bocconcini salad and it was probably the best salad I've ever had, I almost licked the plate clean. I'd go back for the salad. My husband had the onion soup and while the presentation was unique, the taste wasn't extraordinary. We both saved our toonies for the kobe beef steak - we both chose the smallest (cheapest!) portion we could (it had a 7oz. minimum), and we chose a selection of sides including the onion rings, the sweet potato au gratin, and the asparagus with hollandaise. A fine selection! The sides were ok, the onion rings were a stand out for sure! The beef - meh! I order my steak rare, I should just get used to ordering it medium so it will be cooked properly. If the portion is too small to cook rare, the customer should be told. We stuffed ourselves but we couldn't afford not to (ha!). Our server made sure we were comfortable - he stopped by the table probably every 5 minutes! Our bill came to near $200, we decided to skip dessert due to the meal being pretty lackluster, we ordered take out dessert from another restaurant and went home. I won't go back, unless someone else foots the bill! read more

This is my favourite steakhouse restaurant! If you don't eat beef, look away. We went to the steakhouse upstairs for dinner.First impression; not very big and very dark. Have to develop night vision before we can read the menu. But when the food arrived, we were just blown away. The dips for the crudités were amazing. The sauces for the shrimps, the steaks ie horseradish, morel mushroom sauce and etc are so good! Trust me they either have the best saucier ever or the chef has perfected the best gravies/jus/sauce to go with everything. The food is delicious and portions are generous. I love the showmanship . I have experienced the steaks trolley before in various top restaurants in UK, showing you the parts you are about to eat. But here they explained to you the difference in flavours between the various cuts from USD, Nova Scotia and Australia. They even have the cheese board trolley. If they ever have a dessert/sweet trolley they would have got me every time they offer me dessert. Not to mention the trio of fleur de sel that flavour the steaks. Whats more,we were amused. The crystallised sugar on the stick that goes with the caffe latte, the finger wipes in the mini dish that swell up with the hot water. The service is also impeccable yet unintrusive. The receptionist even gave us a small loaf of cake to bring home. We went away very pleased and satisfied. read more

Be prepared to PAY my friends. Yes, this restaurant is delicious, and deceptively so, considering it is attached to a Marriott Courtyard but it is also extremely expensive and do I feel like I had a 300 dollar meal? No, not really. I look a customer here and we were promptly sat and the service was excellent. A hallmark of good service is ballet style food presentation, where each guest gets their plate set down at the same time. My 60 dollar ribeye, however, was more gristly than I would have liked and over salted. So much so that I felt like I was a deer headed to a salt lick. I will say, however, that it was cooked perfectly. The sides were kind of a throw away. Nothing really stood out. So...service was excellent. Food was meh. read more

Good but not great, and not good enough to justify the price. My wife and I had been meaning to try Cut for some time, and finally visited recently for date night. Cut sells itself as a traditional steakhouse, and we were looking forward to a quality steak dinner. Indeed, there isn't much else on the menu, but the selection of steak is impressive. We appreciated that they took the time to show and explain the different cuts of meat. I have no problem paying a premium price for a truly premium meal. And if you are going to charge $50 a steak, I expect you to deliver. My steak was tasty, but was a bit underdone compared to how I ordered it: closer to rare than medium rare. As a specialty steakhouse, you have to get that just right. The sides were all interesting twists on steakhouse classics, like various kinds of potatoes, onion rings, etc. Unfortunately, they just weren't quite as good as they sounded on paper. The service was helpful and attentive, but a little impersonal. Overall, while there was nothing glaringly wrong with our dining experience, there was nothing spectacular about it either. read more

My partner and I were staying at the Marriott Courtyard for the weekend, and we decided to try out The Grill at CUT as it was not only convenient on a chilly rainy day, but we had both heard wonderful things about the food. We were extremely pleased all the way around. We were greeted and seated immediately, our server arrived about a minute later. We both ordered a beer with our meals. My partner had the open faced steak sandwich, and I had the 8oz striploin; both were accompanied with thick cut fries. The food was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and was delivered to our table seconds after it was finished cooking. I did indulge and get their tiramisu for dessert. There are no words that can accurately describe how amazing that dessert was. The ladyfingers were soaked to perfection (held their shape, but were soft and not soggy). The entire dessert was perfectly presented and was surprisingly light, which was wonderful and avoided that "too full" feeling you can get from a heavy dessert. I have raved about CUT since we went, and we will most certainly be back! read more

The Grill at CUT has updated their menu significantly since the last time we were there. Many of our old favourites are still available, such as the Cesar salad and the scallops in a curry cream sauce appetizer, but the rest of the menu is almost unrecognizable. We didn't get the same feeling of bliss that we normally have when we finished our meals last night. The food was still very good, but not over-the-top great like it used to be. Still excellent service and a wonderful wine list. read more

I have been to CUT 4 times and after each time (aside from the 1st) I've vowed never to return. The first time I was there was a fantastic experience. The many staff worked together like a well oiled machine to make you feel good about spending $300 on a meal. Since then, the quality of the food has gone waaaayyyyyyy downhill. If I spend $50 on a steak, I expect a darn good steak! The last two times I went, I was presented with a rubbery, grissley, overcooked piece of horrible meat. My husband's steak was the same. Very disappointing. I will say though, their jumbo shrimp almondine is by far the best appetizer I've ever had. It is the only thing that has made me want to go back (damn you shrimp almondine, why are you so delicious?) read more

I did a prix fixe lunch here and it was tasty times. This place is definitely going on my list of places to eat when I have a paying job. For $17 (not incl tax and tip), I got a pretty looking tray of a cold dish (glass noodle salad), a hot dish (asian beef tips), dip and chips (warm, toasty pita with some kind of chipotle dip). Everything on my plate was awesome. I followed up lunch with a coffee that came in a wee bodum. Service was great. My only complaint? It opened exactly at 12 and we got there a little early for lunch. So not so much a complaint as something to note. Also, it's a bit of a maze to find the bathroom downstairs. I'm looking forward to updating this review with a dinner. read more

I'm sad to say I've spent most of my time in Halifax assuming Cut was far too expensive for me to waste my time. I'm happy to say I was wrong. The key thing to remember is that the steakhouse and the grill are two different restaurants. One is silly expensive and the other is just expensive enough that you can check it out once or twice and not feel like you're plunging into catastrophic debt. For the record, my economically locked down self chose the grill. My party of seven was seated with no problem and quickly attended to by the wait staff. They were friendly and very knowledgeable regarding the menu. Trust me, if you're not a beef aficionado you will have questions. The meals were not sprawling, but filling and very tasty. The burgers are almost too big - I had to eat mine with a knife and fork (which reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where people eat chocolate bars the very same way), but I managed and was quite impressed. Cut is not a place you visit weekly, or even monthly, but it is a great, generally affordable place to check out and pretend you're living beyond your means, which is much nicer than actually living beyond your means. read more

So I finally got to venture in from the blustery day to try Cut...The Grill Level. After reading so many RAVE reviews I had, as per usual, set myself up to expect fireworks....I was not let down. We arrived early and were the first table to be seated...it did remain quiet, with only one other table in the Grill. I had heard SO MUCH about the burgers that my partner HAD TO order the burger...as he considers himself someone of a "Burger Connoisseur" I was surprised, and he let down, that there were only two burgers available....one glazed with Sake and the second was the "Burger Of The Day" which was a Greek burger with feta and Black Olives ($15.00). I do wish that if people are going to "Do the burger Thing" they should at least still offer a traditional with Bacon and cheese...the ingredients are no doubt in the prep table so why not make it available...I opted for the Steak & Frites ($19.00) at this price I did not expect a LARGE steak but did receive an adequate portion...we both agreed the Frites, "Fresh Cut" were sublime and the in house made ketchup quite tasty. I do love a veggie burger and that was an option as well and may try this one on our next visit. We could not pass by the dessert menu and it was FAB! With my partner having the "Flourless Chocolate Cake", also something that seems to be popping up on MANY menus...I ordered the Banana Crepes. I half of a banana slived end to end with a caramel drizzle and crackle as well as four chunks of crepes filled with coconut rum ice cream..only issue was the crepes are SUPER FROZEN and you needed a knife to break them down. The overall taste was similar to a Bananas Foster and was delish. ($10 & $8 respectively) The service while non intrusive was a bit on the casual side and the music, while I loved everysong as it flashed through the 80's and 90's was quite LOUD. Needless to say we will be back...next time I think we shall venture upstairs for the full dining experience. read more

Lobster poutine! Two of my favorite things combined into one... after hearing about this from some locals, hubby and I had to stop in for lunch at the Grill. Funky desserts like chocolate hamburgers available here too - don't worry, the "patty" part is chocolate and the bun is a cupcake/muffin :) (Note that the Grill is open for lunch and dinner and is upscale casual, the Cut upstairs is dinner only and more formal). There is no relationship to the CUT restos that I love in Beverly Hills and Vegas just in case you're wondering. (Those ones are infinitely better than this one). Service is average - surprised the server made a couple of mistakes when describing the dessert and he wasn't that engaged. Fun decor with funky lights, chalkboards listing the servers' faves, mid-century decor with Eames style chairs, etc... The menu has a great selection with some Indian influences with spices - sausages, burgers, salads, lobster mac and cheese, lobster poutine. That being said, the food didn't wow me. At $50+ tax/tip dollars for 2 people for lunch with no alcohol, I expect an excellent lunch. The food was OK but GREASY as heck. The poutine tasted good at the time but I seriously felt nauseous the rest of the afternoon. Hubby's onions rings were literally dripping oil. My salad and his burger were just average. We split the chocolate hamburger for dessert - texture was too dense and too hard to cut into. Their "fries" on the dessert plate were deep dried pineapple and super oily. I thought there was a number of creative touches, nice decor and presentation is lovely, but the food needs some work at the Grill - at least some blotting! read more

If you love steak and very high end service, then you really have to come here. The steaks are perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. Your waiter will actually come to your table with a platter of raw steaks and explain the various cuts. Personally, I felt if very pretentious and the side dishes, which are extra did not stand up to the meat. Wines were awesome though. That said,it is one of those "ought to experience at least once" meals. read more

Wonderful service. Delicious cocktails. The steak USDA from Nebraska, was delicious! My oysters to start were not my favorite, but I'm a west coast oyster fan so it was my fault ordering oysters on the east coast. They are just too salty/sea-tasting for me. I tried a friend's beef carpaccio and it was one of the most delicious appetizers I have ever tasted. I will definitely, without question, return for this dish and a glass of wine at the bar. The sides that came alongside the wonderful steak were hit and miss. Rapini was excellent. Mushrooms too. Frites good. The lobster mac & cheese, I expected it to blow my mind. It did not. I believe this place is overpriced, but I was being treated on someone else's dime and I enjoyed myself thoroughly and thought service was impeccable. I have no doubt that they would do everything in their power to make sure you enjoyed everything or to make something right should you not. I look forward to returning for the carpaccio and a glass of the butterscotch-y caymis cab we had. Yum. read more

We were really looking forward to our first visit to Cut. The reviews were largely excellent and thoughts of a premier steakhouse experience were enticing. "Dine Around" presented the perfect opportunity to sample what we assumed would be some of their best work. After all, isn't the whole idea to entice new customers who will relish the experience and spread the word. Covid arrival was less than strict with no required hand station and a surprising coat check. We were quickly ushered to our table and servers appeared promptly. All menus were available by QR code with 6 different downloads. A waiter inquired if we had particular dishes in mind but made no mention of the Dine Around menu. When I asked about it he appeared disappointed and returned with a menu card before walking away with no description or details about any item. We opted to try both appetizers and both mains. My Scallop Pork Dumpling was mediocre with no evidence of garlic, ginger, soy or heat. Perhaps that was the intent but surely an appetizer should wake awaken the tastebuds not dull the palate with tough, overcooked mushrooms. Partner's Wagyu striploin was similarly under seasoned, the jus and pickle almost bitter in partnership. Just a touch of salt please. But my steak is yet to come and after all Cut will save the day! No. My striploin "Manhattan" was the greatest disappointment of the evening. Med rare was uneven with blood on the plate. And the fat cap had not been trimmed, providing several challenges as I attempted to get unchewable portions out of my mouth and somewhere into hiding without disgusting patrons at the next table. The lamb shank was fall off the bone and part of a well crafted dish with creamy polenta and accompaniments. The chocolate mousse was light and quite appealing. After the meal I chatted with the manager who had been informed that the steak was not up to par. He said that particular cut was not something they usually offer and promised a better experience next time around. We were left with a sense that Cut holds no particular belief that "Dine Around" holds any importance for them. It was not a sampler menu that the servers or chefs were proud of, highlighting their skills and potential. Isn't that what "Dine Around" is for? We will take the manager up on his promise. read more
