But when I called The Key Guy, the owner Julio picked up right away and was actually eager to help. He asked me to send him some pictures, then called me back right away to tell me it was a simple job. He was upfront and honest about everything and gave me a great deal! Not only that, but I found out Julio is incredibly knowledgeable. He's been in the business for years and even teaches his own locksmithing classes. Julio flaked on me two days in a row.. He called me at 11am and said he would be free at 3pm. Calls me at 4pm saying he is going to drive to Bellflower to get an ignition key at a shop and would call me by 8pm. I waited at work where my car is parked til 9pm that night. He calls me the next day around 3pm saying he's free now, but my car is 1.5hrs away from home and had to uber there. He said he would check in at 5pm, but did not hear from him again.. We scheduled 3 PM he showed up at 11 PM to duplicate a key for my jeep wrangler. He insisted to get paid via quick pay Zell or without me seeing the car. I was stupid enough to fall for it. Be aware this un responsible man Took my steering column a part and broke it. He did not even bother to put it together. After calling him he promised to show up next morning and fix it but he never showed up and never took his phone again. He ran with $180 away from me!!! A lot of people said it can be done, and it was a struggle but Julio would not give up until the job was completed. Julio is an absolute find! Most of the locksmiths in the area are call centers that dispatch an available vendor they work with and then charge you a premium. The Key Maker, and specifically Julio, is not like that. You call them, and They answer.
