About a year ago we were living out of state and decided to move to the DFW area to be around family. Our daughter recommended Kathy and Kurt to us because they had an excellent experience with Kathy helping her family find a home. Her father-in-law had recommended Kathy and Kurt to them. We emailed Kathy our wants and must have criteria in a home and Kathy sent us internet links for houses being sold that closely matched those criteria. The plan was to develop a list of homes to see when we visited the area. But, we were not finding anything we really loved. We had never considered new home construction, but we were open. We toured five or six builders' models in the targeted area and fell in love with one in particular in which we now live. Kathy was present during the design phase providing design suggestions and Kurt, with building experience, was there during the construction phase answering our questions and providing unbiased answers and input. We worked with Kurt Kiefer when we decided we needed a larger home. We liked where we lived so we wanted to add on to our existing home. After consulting with Kurt and running through all the options that we wanted in this new addition we actually decided to tear down our existing structure and rebuild on the that site. Kurt's knowledge and expertise with the construction vendors and subcontractors helped walk us through this almost year long project. He recommended an architect for us to meet with to draw up plans. He knew who we needed to meet with at the city, what forms needed to be completed. That was just to get started before the teardown. Then from teardown all the way through the rebuild he was there, scheduling the contractors and monitoring their work. He helped us stay on schedule all the way through. He was there for all the inspections and alway available to answer questions. He was very hands on and did many things himself during the build that saved us dollars. There never seemed to be a problem that Kurt could not solve during the rebuild. Kurt spent many days at the house monitoring the work and pitching in. I learned much from Kurt during construction. And since it was finished and we moved back in, I still call with questions and he never hesitates to come out and lend a hand. Kathy and Kurt are incredible realtors! You will not be disappointed with their work. Kathy went above and beyond for us, helping us navigate through every tedious, confusing and difficult part of buying our very first home. She was always quick to respond to a call or text and was happy to answer all of our questions (about every little thing)! The home we decided to make an offer on and ended up purchasing, had solar panels on the roof. We didn't want the panels and it ended up being a lot more of an issue than we originally expected it to be. Kathy worked tirelessly to be sure we were protected on every side and to make sure the roof was returned to full working condition once the panels were removed. This was new territory for her, and she did all kinds of research to make sure she did the best job she could for us. Kurt also jumped in to help several times when he didn't have to. Furthermore, the day we showed up to our new home to move in, we were shocked to learn that the sellers were still occupying the residence.
