Roaches. Bad. The staff is cool but the roaches in our room were literally everywhere.

I used Hotels.com and being a loyal Marriott member, selected Fairfield by Marriott and made a reservation. Literally (and I mean literally) a minute later I realized that because it was after 1am the reservation was made for *that* evening (ie more than 12 hours later) not for a quick 5-6 hour stopover. I tried to change the reservation but it cancelled instead despite already charging me the full $190. Even worse, when we walked into the hotel to try and fix the situation on the spot, we were told the hotel was completely sold out. I contacted Hotels.com, they were fantastic and responsive but let me know getting a refund would could only be approved directly by the manager of the property. They reached out on my behalf and apparently this property owner couldn't have cared less and refused to refund even a portion of the amount. A costly 2-minute mistake on my part and easy money for no effort on the part of the property owner here. We were so aggravated that we decided to go ahead and drive through. I doubt the owner will ever see this review or if they do, will likely not care, but greediness and a lack of empathy has a way of circling back. There are a lot of other hotels in the area - choose another one rather than this one.

A big bonus was the morning breakfast and evening happy hour with complimentary drinks, including a free cocktail, which was a really nice touch after a day out. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The walk-in shower was large and well designed, and the beds were very comfortable, making it easy to relax and sleep well. The gym was also perfect for what we needed, just enough equipment to get a solid workout in each day. The location was convenient, close enough to downtown Savannah while still being quiet and easy to access. Overall, we highly recommend staying here, and it's a great option for anyone traveling with dogs since they are pet friendly.

It is always a bonus when a hotel actually does breakfast right, and this one definitely delivered. Overall this was a great stay with friendly people, a clean environment, and a really solid breakfast. I would absolutely stay here again.

I feel like you've entered into a really nice spa setting. And that's what it is, the lobby says you're ready to relax and yes,, i definitely am. There's an elevator provided so you can take all your belongings up without utilizing the stairs. Heaven forbid we have to carry stuff up now a days. The rooms are very nice. The bathroom has a shower with a tub, a toilet that flushes and a sink with faucets and mirrors. Amazing!! Anyways, the staff is really nice,, they're very welcoming and from what I experienced is the epitome of southern hospitality. I enjoyed my stay here and I'll be seeing you again in the future.

The location was great - tucked away down a quiet street but close to a lot of things and places. (Quick drive to shopping/dining in area, easy drive to the airport, close to downtown Savannah, Hilton Head, etc.) Parking was included with the stay and entrance/exit on backside by elevators was very convenient. The lobby was large and open - had the check in desk, computer station, restrooms, lots of seating, and the breakfast area. The hotel had complimentary breakfast which was ok - what you would expect; nothing fancy or great, but decent and had variety. All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful, especially John, who helped get us checked in quickly and without a hitch. Once you check in, you get a text to access your reservation and hotel details, including property info and customer service - you can text or email. I used the SMS to ask about the location of the ice machines and got a response right away. (Answer is every other floor, 2&4). Our room was as expected and pictured and was quite spacious. It came with a mini fridge, microwave, safe, and iron/board. Decent storage space between closet and various drawers built into the furniture. The bathroom was clean with decent counter/storage space. Shower was a walk in (no tub). They had bottles of shampoo and conditioner on wall. Provided a bar of soap, lotion, makeup wipe, and hair dryer. Two comments re: bathroom/shower - they should include an additional soap bar or body wash and should add some kind of shelving in the shower for personal toiletries. Water got hot and lasted, could have had better pressure but not bad by any means. Bed was comfortable and bath towels were a decent size - ie could be used by adults lol. I do wish they had a pool or hot tub, but not a big deal just a nice to have... I would recommend this Glo and stay here again!

When we checked into our room, there was pink mold in the bathtub. I contacted the front desk expecting either a room change or for housekeeping to come clean it. Instead, we were handed bleach and expected to clean it ourselves. My husband ended up scrubbing the tub, but the strong smell of the Ecolab Lemon Lift cleaner caused my chest to start hurting, and I was left feeling very uncomfortable. To make matters worse, when I tried calling the front desk several times, the calls were answered by kitchen staff member Adisa, who repeatedly told me I had the wrong number. Later, someone named Izzy from maintenance/garbage disposal answered and said the same thing. When I went downstairs, they didn't realize I was the person who had been calling, and they were laughing and making fun of the situation. That level of unprofessionalism was shocking and completely unacceptable. The only positive part of my experience was the front desk associate. She was clearly overwhelmed but remained kind, respectful, and genuinely tried to help despite the circumstances. I am extremely disappointed by how this situation was handled. No guest should be expected to clean mold in their own hotel room, and no one should be mocked after asking for assistance. I hope management takes this review seriously, addresses the cleanliness issues, and provides additional customer service training to the staff. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience I've had here, and I hope no other guest has to go through the same thing.

The couch in the room had a tear in the arm. But mattress in fold out was very nice. My son didn't complain. I am of a mind that all hotels need to do away with carpet for sanitary reasons. This room had a place on carpet that needed cleaning. I thru a towel over it. The bathroom showed lots of sadly repaired water damage from, I am sure, the currently leaking shower head. The shower was very hard to turn on and you could not turn it hard enough off to stop the dripping. Experienced maintenance man could have fixed that. Or call a plumber. Ice machines are out of order. I sent my son on a quest for a cup of ice. Extra points if he came back with both cups full. Second floor only ice working. The bathroom in lobby is out of order. The sitting room for breakfast could use some much needed upgrade. Chairs were filthy looking. Vinyl would be their friend. The pool was closed due to noncompliance by health department. Again sad.
