I'm totally in love with this place! The staff is super friendly and I have not had a bad experience with employees or their food. I'm a native to Lancaster and i love new places that are not franchises and new to the area. The interior reminds me very much of an LA restaurant which needs to stick in our town because it's clean and modern and fresh. Please avoid this place like a plague. I ended up in the ER with a severe food poisoning after ordering Mongolian Beef and Salt-N-Pepper Shrimp. My stomach was messed up for days. I couldn't eat regular food for a while just a liquid diet. We decided to try this restaurant because it was close to the house and the restaurant had decent reviews. I regret that now so much. I've eaten here 3 times now. Ordered something different each time and they were all good. The main reason for my review however is a few days ago, I placed my order through Yelp for the first time. What an awesome service! I was sick at the time and didn't want to do much, so the ease of clicking a few buttons and then only having to drive to the restaurant and pick it up was amazing. We eat here all the time and even take friends/family with us whom love it. But...we are very disappointed this Holiday. They have a sign in the window they would be closed for several days but "open" today November 22, 2017. They are not. We tried calling all day and get a Time Warner recording (not a recording stating "You've reach Kirin Hut"...and it no one answers, yet the sign said they would be open as of today. NOT. We have family in and promised them dinner at Kirin, guess that's not happening. When you are a place of business, please have an appropriate recording to inform customers. Change your sign. Do not say you will be open and you are not. Changes our entire prospect of Kirin. Very sad and very disappointed. read more

Let me start by saying I love the food here.. That being said, I can't understand why the customer service has fallen off so bad in recent months. We use to come every week and it was our number 1 place to go for Chinese food. Then slowly the customer service dropped off the map. ( example: We showed up for lunch and arrived just after 3, normally they would just give us the lunch pricing anyway because it was so close, but this last time we were in the lady didn't even offer it. ) The staff just stared at us while we ate, and gave us our food to go when we were eating in.. My new favorite Chinese food spot in the Antelope Valley. Year after year the Great Wall gets so much love, which I think is simply because the Great Wall is consistently "pretty good"... but not very good or great. Well the Kirin Hut is very good. What got my attention was the variety of their menu. Yes, they had the American-Chinese food staples (orange chicken, broccoli beef, Kung Pao chicken, blah blah yawn), but they also had creations I had not seen before. And variations on the classics. For example, I LOVE classics like black pepper chicken and General Tso's chicken, so I just had to try their black pepper beef and General Tso's shrimp. All around the food exceeded expectations. Their popcorn chicken is a must-try with unique yet familiar flavors I could not quite put my finger on. The black pepper beef was so good I can already tell I will have to fight myself not to order it the next few times I go so I can try other things. The only [slight] disappointment was the General Tso's shrimp. It was way too sweet. I give this place 4-stars based on their creative menu, very friendly staff, and delicious food. read more

I work near this place ... I can see why they have high ratings. Food is great but service sucks. Don't come here if you are on your lunch hour. If you do be ready to rush and take half to go. This is the fourth time I eat here and this is the third time service is horrible. I keep blaming it on "oh it's busy they were not ready" but I learned ... they don't know how to handle lunch rush . There is only one very young waitress who does not know how to multitask, she is slow and low energy... Then there is a tall to-go girl; she is nice. She clearly gets that she has to do more than just to take to-go orders. Then it is another lady (owner maybe) who has free time but if you call her, she always goes and gets someone else. Food is good, service kinda sucks. I've been here a couple times. Never met this lady, she is a bit older, apparently doesn't want to work in the morning.... I hope she isn't the owner because I feel like she should stay in the back with her attitude and her eye rolling. Shouldn't mess with my brother because he'll low key get you back and we were nice with our "please and thank you" and weren't loud. It's actually the lady with the longer looking bowl cut. This is the second time I've been here. This time I was basically forgotten. It took a solid 15 minutes just to come back to me to take my order. My drink was given to the other lady who ALSO had to ask for her food. She touched the straw and actually took it out of the drink and the waiter tried to hand me something someone else handled. GROSS! Then I waited and waited for the guy to bring my check even holding out my credit card. NOTHING! Instead, he sat new people, took someone else's order, and gave out food all in my same area. We got the sweet and sour shrimp, egg rolls and sweet and sour soup. The soup was good but the shrimp and egg rolls were gross. The shrimp just tasted like bread and sause and the egg rolls were greasy and the sause for it was cold. I don't recommend going here. we have been there twice now...once for take out and once for dining in. We really liked the food but the kung pow beef was not very tasty the first time, something in the taste of the sauce just was not right to us. My pork noodles dinner was really good. The second time tried different food and wow what a difference it was really good. The only thing was the service was real slow. People came in placed to go orders and were done and gone long before we ever got our food. But maybe they called it in I do not know. Yes we will eat here again. read more

So we basically went here because my friends aunt recommended it. First we got in hostess sat us and I asked for a high chair because we had a toddler with us the server pointed across the room and said it's over there. I was confused on why she wouldn't help and get it for us. If I were to ask for a fork would you point to the kitchen and say it's over there? So I let that pass.... ordered chicken lo mien and Mongolian beef with rice. She came back with a small bowl that seemed like only a hand full of rice... umm usually when you order side of rice you would give more than enough for at least two people. This small cup of rice was only enough for the toddler to eat. And if any of you have kids... you know they can eat pretty messy. We brought our own feeding mat for him but food can still get a little outside the mat.. so this lady gives us a look then she comes over grabs the broom and and dust pan that's right behind us and starts to clean up, which I thought was pretty rude because we're still eating. I get that it's messy but really? We're still eating... but the whole time she didn't even ask us if we were okay or if we needed a refill on our drinks.. so when it was time to pay she said sorry it was kind of busy in here but when I looked around there was only 4 tables that she was serving and out of the 4 one of it was including us.. read more

The food is delicious but waiting 45 minutes for an order of wings, potstickers, and fried rice is ridiculous!!! I ordered and paid online arrived 15 minutes after I placed the order and left 30 minutes later. If I wouldn't have paid before I would have gone somewhere else. Seeing as I ordered prior to arriving and seeing people who order after me and receive their food before me, and they ordered more food than me, what's the point of ordering before if it still won't be ready when told. Another over rated AV restaurant or it's the food that i ordered. Pineapple chicken lunch special was not special at all. Fried rice was more like a soy sauce rice, pineapple chicken is more of a dessert than a savory dish. Too sweet sauce and bland chicken meat wrapped in a thick batter. The hot and sour soup was made with a very unique twist. Didn't tasted any sourness or hotness except the fact that it is hot.. temperature wise. I have spent a long time lamenting that there was no decent Chinese food in Lancaster. Thar isn't the case any more! This tiny little place has really great food. The mushroom chicken is really great, so is the Lo Mein. Great food, great prices. The only downside is that it's tiny.. no real room to eat. Was pleasantly surprised by the inside of the restaurant. The outside looked like you usual hole-in-the-wall place but it was decorated so nicely inside and was very relaxing. I forgot I was in a strip mall and felt like I was in some fancy stand-alone restaurant. We had fun choosing what flavor of tea we would like and it came out in chilled mugs with plenty of ice! Very refreshing. We ordered ala carte so we could try a few different dishes and we enjoyed them all. We had good sized portions and definitely didn't leave hungry. read more

This is the third time I have been to this restaurant. All three times extremely slow service due to take out being more important according to the waitress. Large selection of food . When we finally got our food almost 1 hour later the meat in food was barley warm and some veggies warmer but nothing hot. More than likely the meat was pre cooked and put in after veggies were cooked. Great flavor but both of us got food poisoning. My friend ate more of one dish than me. Stomach girggly as soon as we left. Friend on the way back to the valley had to stop 2 times due to diarrhea. A few hours later my stomach continues to get worse. Me no diarrhea but urgency and nausea. So I will not be going back 3 time was not a charm but a disappointment! Thank god for homeopathy to treat food poisoning. read more

Very good. Egg rolls were crunchy and not greasy. Hubby had Orange Chicken, he thought it was good but he felt the sauce was overly sweet. It had a very good "orange" taste and was not too spicy. He also had Fried Shrimp which tasted "good and fresh". The egg drop soup was not his favorite but he's never been a big fan to begin with. I had Sweet and Sour Pork which had the "normal" red sweet and sour sauce. Pork was not greasy and was tender. Egg rolls were my favorite. We will return! read more
