Also ordered one of their bacon, egg and cheese Croissants, a plain toasted croissant and a plain toasted bagel. All in all, everything we ordered was solid. I know coffee drinks can be subjective based on personal preferences, but their regular espresso (used in both coffee orders) tasted pretty great. My preference includes bold coffee flavors and their espresso delivered what I was looking for. My wife's mocha drink was a bit sweet, but she loved their bold coffee flavors as well. The iced latte was pretty great...they have several drink options, but this is my 2nd time getting coffee from them and I enjoyed it both times (the last time we went, they didn't add as much oat milk as preferred but they made up for it this visit). Food items were pretty standard, but the Croissants were delicious and not over toasted. The bagel was the exact same......had a good toast to it without being burnt. Another thing of note: their service is great. Whenever we've had questions on their drink options or how they're made, they've always been very eager and helpful. Almost at that chic fil a level is how I'd describe their service and willingness to help answer the simplest of questions. Don't know much about the inside of their spot....we've always done drive thru orders with them, but their setup and convenience alone makes them appealing. This is the 3rd consecutive time we've seen them while visiting family, so they're apart of our rotation now.

Most coffee shops I've been to have a fraction of their choices...combinations the shop came up with themselves. We found an empty public parking space with a cone in front of it, but a woman wearing a tracksuit and green T-shirt told us we couldn't park there. When we explained that we hoped to run inside for about ten minutes, she told us she was giving everyone tickets and that we would get one, too. We couldn't tell whom she represented or what authority she had. We called Ruby's for guidance--during its advertised business hours--and nobody answered. No coffee, no snack, no assistance. Just a frustrating encounter before we could even reach the door. Ruby's, do you have dedicated customer parking? Where should customers go when the lot is full? And who is outside threatening prospective customers with tickets? You may not control the parking enforcement, but you can help visitors understand how to reach your business. We never made it inside, so I can't judge the coffee or food. I can judge the experience of trying to spend money there: aggravating enough that we gave up. We left Oak Island and took our business to Wrightsville Beach. Getting a cup of coffee shouldn't require this much effort.
