I never thought I would ever be able to do any fitness competitions, and here I am training for one with the best coaches in Washington DC! Second: the community that The Lab built is unreal. From the moment you walk into class, you feel like you belong. Everyone is very friendly and will celebrate your victories (no matter how small) with you. You will simply never see a better support system in the DMV area. Third: all levels are welcomed and supported. From seasoned lifters and runners to those who have very little experience. Whatever your fitness goals are - you will always be supported! Last but not least - programming. After taking many group fitness classes in the DMV, I can honestly say that The Lab has the best programming in the area. There is a commitment to targeted warm up and movement before the actual workout that helped me remain injury free and get my body ready for the "main event." The Lab is an amazing gym in the DC area. The gym can be an intimidating place, but the coaches at The Lab are extremely skilled in meeting you where you're at in your fitness journey by providing encouragement and correcting form to make sure you get the most out of your workout and stay injury free. I've been a member of The Lab Dc for a year and I honestly can't say enough good things! The programming is top-notch, offering the perfect balance of weight lifting and cardio options to get fit and strong. The variety of class options is amazing, from Hybrid classes, to Glute classes to lifting/ cardio classes. The atmosphere is always motivating with the best welcoming and loving members that really contribute to building life long friendships. I love how the classes are arranged, so whether I'm focusing on strength training or working on my form, I never feel like I have to compromise one thing for another. Truly the best all-around fitness program and community in the DMV. The classes and programming are challenging yet approachable and the coaches are supportive, knowledgeable, and fun. I've learned how to do complex barbell lifts and I've seen my strength and confidence with them significantly increase in the past year I've been going to the LAB. It's also been great to do conditioning in the cash-outs and on wildcard Fridays that isn't just running or cardio machines but also incorporates free weights and body weight exercises that have helped build my over all strength and endurance. I love that each class starts with an allotted warm up time so your body is prepped (most studios in DC don't do this!!), and that the combo of strength training and cardio is meticulously crafted to increase your overall performance. I love the Lab! The coaches are all so knowledgeable and encouraging! The atmosphere allows for everyone to feel like they can succeed!! I have brought friends and they have all enjoyed classes. It also is a great training gym for competitions because all the coaches have experience. I recently took part in a competitive but fun PFT for Hyrox, which not many gyms offer! I can't recommend this gym enough and is always the best part of my day. Class programming generally progresses in difficultly throughout the week and is the perfect mix of tough and fun. The workouts (especially the comp/hybrid and wildcard) push me to my limits, but I always leave feeling amazing.
