This was the first time I've ever stayed at a "motel" style lodging and I expected it to be infested with bed bugs, stains, and dirt. Honestly - this motel was cleaner than a lot of the more expensive chain hotels I've stayed at. Granted, it's a roadside motel that costs $150/night but compared to some of the lodging in the area, the price wasn't totally unreasonable and it was shockingly clean. Our room was pretty updated and the motel seemed to be kept up and well maintained. Yes - as another reviewer said - the walls are thin but that was never a huge issue (and is usually an issue with most older hotels I've stayed at). The best part - there is a view from pretty much every room of Moosehead Lake which is beautiful. We stayed on the second floor which I would say is the better option. The kayaks, canoes, and peddle boats are free to use - but you are only allowed to go out 1,000 feet and can't use them for more than an hour at a time but it was still pretty fun and is certainly a nice option to have (it's really awesome they don't charge to use them - huge plus as most hotels would probably charge an arm and a leg for that). There is free wifi as well which is a huge plus - although it was kind of spotty at times and not very fast. Still - it's included with the rate so I can't complain. Overall - great lodging if you are looking for a no-frills, basic place to stay for whatever brings you to Greenville, Maine.

I wish they would have had the opportunity to stay at this lodge. Beautiful grounds, huge room with deck overlooking the grounds and the lake. The room showed an attention to detail that I've not seen before and we have travelled. Bathroom was large and new and stocked with high end products. Staff were outstanding. The general manager greeted us, showed us around, and made sure we we felt at home. Breakfast was included and it didn't disappoint. Would encourage the inclusion of Paso Robles wines on their wine list (they are Nor Cal centric). Other than that, wouldn't change a thing. While in town, be sure to drop by the historic railroad depot. It's a great piece of American/Canadian history. We will be back!

Our attempt at polite conversation was shot down with chilly responses and an overall irritated demeanor. The room was odd as there was a refrigerator located by the toilet and a coffee machine adjacent. Unsanitary. There is a spooky energy as we never saw Beverly again and felt like she abandoned the place after begrudgingly meeting us for check in. No dining on the premises on the Wednesday we checked in, no food delivery allowed, and no warning to book the on premises dining in advance. According to another Yelp reviewer, the dining was not worth it to begin with. I wish we had checked Yelp before booking. Beverly ruined our stay.

Motel was booked solid so I went with a campsite this time around and I am so glad I did. Check-in was again a breeze and the staff are just so nice. Having inquired as to my activities in the area, they remembered the details and brought in up in conversation whenever we ran into each other. A nice personal touch. I stayed at campsite #9 "Double Decker" and it was the perfect size for my medium sized tent and large SUV. It came with a fire pit and picnic table. When you first round the bend, the campsites seem squeezed in there but the site itself felt pretty private once I settled in and I was not bothered by the full campground surrounding me. Quiet hours by 10pm made getting rest for my weekend activities easy peasy. As a solo camper, I felt very safe here. The nearby lounge area had a television, kitchen w. oven, range, refrigerator, and freezer, television, electrical outlets, games and more. Toilets and coin-operated showers were on the backside of this building. I don't mind pay showers but wished I got a little bit more time for my first four quarters as I was scrambling to put more in as I rushed through each visit. Bring plenty with you if you like to take your time. Firewood available for purchase (delivered to your campsite!) along with some other staples. Would absolutely stay here again. And again. And again.

First impression was great!! Cozy good sized rooms for great prices!! Full kitchen in our room! Bathroom was nice and we had two queen beds!! TV and cable and a beautiful deck. Close to Sugarloaf! Place was so adorable and comfy that my fiance proposed to me here!! Made it even more special. I love the 19th century feel. Did not love the nonexisting wifi - I had to go down to the living room to get any semblance of connection, but my room was up top with zero service. Not the quietest place but I've had worse. The weird part - for the cheaper rooms there's a shared bathroom. Fine, it's an old house. But the other person didn't lock the door. Didn't notice the "VACANT" when you walked in, eh? Well you sure noticed me! I hightailed it back, heard that person rush back to their room, and the bathroom was all set for my shower. Unforgettable is a positive thing, right? Can't really speak to the hotel staff as they were never present - just had my key at the front desk and name/room number. Anyone could walk in there and take a key and a room - until the person whose room it was supposed to be walks in and doesn't have a key. Not great, but at least the room locks! Oh, and my room had a reclining rocking-couch. I kid you not. I wanted to sit down and I had to jam a fireplace log under it so I could sit without it rocking all over the place. (I wanted to try to sit down with wifi. That wasn't happening.) Verdict: If you need to stay in Lincoln, I don't want to be too harsh with my star rating. It's not a terrible place, it's just very much walk-in-and-sleep. Nothing else to recommend for it.
