Their drinks spot I , I recommend their Bloody Mary! Their burgers and fries would give Bob Belcher a run for his money. If you want to catch a game their appetizers and burgers are great. If you want something more upscale they have a great selection and their dinner menu is sure to please. I will definitely be back and often. My sister, father and I went to lunch here on 8/16/2020. We were one of 3 tables on Sunday afternoon. My dad and I each had a shaved prime rib dip sandwich- I had fries and my dad had a salad. My sister had a mushroom and Swiss burger with onion rings. The dip sandwich's were fair. The sides...fries, salad & onion rings were all GREAT! The mushroom & Swiss burger was pretty good.l according to my sister. I've been here several times and it's typically good. The all you can eat shrimp on Friday nights is always great but VERY busy and VERY crowded. Make a reservation!! read more

Food was excellent, service was friendly, drinks were nice, and the clientele was friendly. I sat at the bar, was greeted immediately, and food came out in a timely manner. Had the walleye, beer cheese soup, and a salad. Everything was wonderful. This was my big meal for the week and it did not disappoint. If I'm ever back at camp ripley I will stop by again. read more

I have been wanting to get to The Landing for years. Got my chance, but under mourning conditions. A friend's funeral reception was hosted privately at The Landing. But on a uplifting note, it was the deceased favorite dining place. The reception brought a couple hundred people to The Landing. Though the place was packed, they had outdoor stand up tables in the back of the building. This worked perfectly because the weather was beautiful. The food was served buffet style. Felt like a preliminary Thanksgiving dinner: turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, rolls. Best part, the food was absolutely delicious. Serving that many people that much food is a feat, and the Chef did it wonderfully! Now that I have been there, I look forward to returning and having a regular dinner from the menu. read more

So glad we found this gem on our last trip in the area. We had the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp as an appetizer and it was one of the best shrimp dishes I have ever had in my life. The bread was perfectly light, soft and was great at soaking up the Orleans sauce. The gulf shrimp were sweet and tender and cooked perfectly. For dinner I had the chicken parmesan. While very good I will definitely order something not Italian the next time I am there. The other entrée was the special. A Lake Superior whitefish with a succulent sauce of butter, lemon and tomatoes. The hand cut fries are just what you would expect with real French fries. Hot and silky smooth inside while crunchy outside. Service was great and the atmosphere is a bar/restaurant with a boat launch and parking lot across the street with a hint of a view of the lake. Now that I think about it, if I did it again I would have split the New Orleans BBQ shrimp as an appetizer and then ordered the same appetizer for myself as my dinner. I love this place. And I also love going for their "early bird specials" - maybe for the white hairs typically, but I guess I'm cheap :). They serve bread and a delicious salad with every meal, and I have tried other things, but I always have to get the chicken marsala - its amazing. I don't usually order it at other restaurants, so not a lot of comparisons, but its definitely amazing here. Always great and my favorite restaurant to go to when I am up at the lake! read more

This place has become a huge part of my life :) Jeff, Melissa, Matt, Rick, and everyone else I am forgetting are unbelieveable! In the past few years they have made me feel like family and the food is by far the best within 100miles. I recommend the garlic bacon burger or buffalo chicken sandwich if you want to get in and out cheap but if you are looking to go all out, order any special that they have on the board as you walk in and it will be incredible! I have never ever had a bad meal here. If I became a millionare I would hire Jeff to make all my meals! :) Love you guys and cant wait to see you again soon! read more

Sundown on beautiful Lake Alexander - we'd travelled 1400 miles from the Lone Star State to see my brother and his wife at their new lake home. The Landing is one of their favorite spots, and it was easy to see why. Tasty beef and chicken fajita's on sizzling platters would have been a hit in Texas's finest establishments. When in Minnesota I felt obliged to enjoy the state fish - Walleye, with some Minnesota wild rice. MMMMMMM! Totally satisfied. I had to leave without a house specialty I love - the heralded liver and onions are supposed to be the best. Our waitress Allisa was fast and ever smiling in a very busy joint. With great drinks, reasonable prices, an exciting menu and stunning view of the lake, we sure hope to get back. read more

Decent Food, but Really Poor Service - doesn't matter when or who, but every time. I live in the area and have been here a handful of times always reluctantly based upon my first experience. I was hoping they could change my mind. Well this was the last time. Made reservations we were sat late, I thought that's ok tried to keep it positive, but considering there were 3 other open tables the same size - kind of weird. After we were sat with no introduction or welcome, it took 12 min. to get water to the table, and another 22 min. to get our ordered drinks to the table. We (my daughter and I) ordered, and one of our meals came with a salad - salad was brought out set on the table and the server kept right-on going not even a second glance. Only problem was we had no silverware - took 36 min. from the time of seating to get utensils on the table - I even tried to flag them down on 3 separate occasions. So, 1 hr 48 min. for the experience, and more than an hour of that was just waiting. I have never had any "complaints" about the food - its decent depends on what you order, just a step above regular bar food, but it has always been the crap service. I'll put up with crap service if the food is mind blowing - but its not, and EVERY time I have been here service has been crap. It wasn't overly busy, - there were open tables all around us - which is consistent of the other times I have been there. My family has owned and operated restaurants for decades and this place I will not be going back to. I would not recommend to anyone looking for friendly prompt attentive service. read more

Easily the best food in the area including Brainerd and Baxter. They are open year-round and located at the north east corner of Lake Alexander across from the public boat landing (hence the name). Staff is very friendly and tentative. Excellent mixture of comfort food and interesting twists to traditional fare. Very kid friendly but also good for a date or small group. Make reservations in the summer. read more

Have been coming to this place for several years. It's the perfect stop on the way up north. Food is surprisingly gourmet and delicious for this area of Minnesota. Drinks are awesome, try the landing margarita or the cactus berry margarita. Dinner menu offers a good selection of burger type fare, as well as fancier food. The shrimp po boy was my go to for a long time. It's no longer on the menu, but the honey mustard chicken salad and landing burger have become new favorites. Don't miss the Friday fish fry, with the endless salad. The specials on the board by the front door also should not be missed, I've never had a bad dish from one of Jeff's creations. I called ahead to see if they could accomodate a gluten free entre and was told yes. However, when I arrived, they had plain salads, but not dressing or even oil and vinegar. They had a chicken entree with pasta that they said they would give me red potatoes instead of pasta. I ordered it and ate my dry salad and the chicken entree was very good. However, when I received my bill on top of the $17.95 entree (a little expensive for chicken) they also included a $2.95 fee for substituting one red potatoe for the pasta. I have requested accomodations for almost 10 years due to Celiac Disease and have never been charged an additional fee for swapping a potatoe for pasta. It was particularly annoying when they did not tell me there would be an additional fee or point it out on the bill. I was there with 9 other people. Most people thought the food was good, except the crab cakes were soggy. read more
