Upon waling in through the front door you will either be delighted or intimidated at the decor and style, but do no fret this place is awesome. From 1920's post cards ($1.00 collectors items) to moccasins to Motorcycle Jackets, this place has it all. I stopped in on this particular occasion to look for a new pair of biker boots, I have looked around and I was either unhappy with either the style or prices I found else where then I laid my eyes on some traditional style Milwaukee lace up boots (not those plastic buckle sort of things that look like roller blades) with a nice modern touch dual zippers on the side so you lace them the way you like tie a good knot and you never have to lace them again! Thankfully they take credit cards becasue I was not planning on making a purchase but at $105.00 who could pass this up. The owner is good old guy who checks up on you but does not follow you around and keeps good conversation short. If you are from the area and have not been here what are you waiting for? and if you are just passing buy stop on in and check them out there is something here for everyone.

The place hardly changed (except for a new biker bar annexed to it), and is a welcome sight whenever we visit town, with its familiar storefront and vintage Western style sign. It promises unique treasures inside, and it delivers! The eclectic mix of merchandise includes biker/Native American/fantasy themed tchotchkes. They also sell Minnetonka and Red Wing boots. I saw a whole wall of guns and bullets. My prize finds are vintage Starved Rock postcards and some new old stock glass seed bead bracelets. Prices are inexpensive to moderate. I hope they stay in business for many, many more years!

Literally just around the corner from our hotel on Michigan Avenue was the I Love Chicago store. From the moment we walked into the store, we were quite busy looking at each corner of the store trying to find the perfect gifts. We found a number of cute snow globes on top of the Bean of all different sizes. Further back in the store were some clearance items where there were some great magnets. There were sports team merchandise, Chicago-themed candies, plenty of shirts, hats, and other clothing, and so much more. When you go to their website (https://lovefromcompanies.com/collections/chicago), you will receive a pop-up coupon for $10 off orders of $50 or more. There was also a sign up link by the counter where you could get 10% off by signing up. While there are more than three locations in Chicago and around the country, there are only three I Love Chicago locations including the one on Michigan Avenue, which I visited. The mission statement at Love From USA is to provide an extraordinary travel convenience and gift shopping experience, capturing lasting memories reflective of the local culture and lifestyle of the communities they serve. They support locally made products from small businesses across their markets. Love from USA was founded in 1979 as a paperweight kiosk and has grown tremendously since then. Now, they have 24 stores across the country. Chicago was the second place that they had stores. They also have a commitment to give back and take part in the Art For Good Project, Red Heart Project, and Local Artisan Project. As everyone leaving the store holding bags of souvenirs, it was obvious that other customers were on the same mission as us and were successful. I certainly recommend this store to others looking for the same.
