From shallow to deep or slow moving to fast - this is a lovely glimpse into something we rarely get to see, except in our imaginations, dreams, or occassionally on a summer swim. The inside of the centre houses a large interpretation centre with wonderful displays which talk about the river ecosystem and environs as well as other local projects. Participated in a recent conference here. The layout of the building is tight, restricting movement…read moreand preventing wide open spaces from even existing. Techs running presentations were complaining about the main hall being an echo chamber, leading to subdued volume levels for the first full day of the conference. The conference centre was sufficiently clean, but the entire building was not maintained through the conference. A stench was present for the entire conference at one of the key connection points to the host hotel, so you got to get a whiff of it a number of times through the duration. Catering was underwhelming. The majority of meals were handheld, extras were sparse, and the only plated meal of significance was the final one of the conference. If you can get better food several steps from the conference hall, you need to do a better job. Overall the conference was a good experience. However, the drawbacks of the building were apparent. I hope future conferences have this in mind.

Really takes you from start to finish the whole history. Extremely thorough and detailed. And also, they have an oil & gas exhibit which I really enjoyed as well. Very informative. After staying in various hotels across the province, it's nice to have a place in a large city (by their standards) where I can walk outside and have multiple choices for restaurants and bars. My room was large and brightly lit. Clean as well. Lots of TV channel options, and the TVs themselves were of excellent quality. A/C was a bit loud initially, but I eventually acclimated to it. Overall no complaints at all with the hotel.
