I went in to have Lasik and found out I was no longer a candidate due to major weight loss which leaves your corneas weak and thin. So instead I had PRK. Its a longer recovery time but safer option. The process the day of was super easy. Recovery was rough the first 3 days then progressively got better. I opted for distance because of my age and so I wear readers for things under 3 feet but have 20/15 outside of that. Outstanding from beginning to end. I wanted to write a review after I waited two weeks from completing surgery. My experience was simply incredible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I made my first appointment for my evaluation, and I was in and out of the office in about 45 minutes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They use very advanced machines, and I was given a full report and prognosis for my surgery. I'm 58 years old and am far-sighted. Before surgery I could not read restaurant menus, books, and small computer/phone screens without having a prescription for +2.5 strength reading glasses. My distance vision was still livable, but I was noticing my television viewing and reading letters from 10 feet away had been deteriorating over the past few years. I chose to get the "distance vision" lasik. This is the right choice for me as most of my viewing will be things beyond 3 feet. I am ecstatic with the results. My distance vision is absolutely perfect and my TV's look clearer and crisper than anytime I can remember. With distance vision Lasik, you will still need reading glasses for up close but now, I only require +.75 reading glasses and without them, I can see better than before and can read without them if I need to. I also had an astigmatism which this surgery REMOVED/FIXED. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My experience on the day of the surgery was excellent. Of course, I was nervous as anyone would be, but the staff was excellent, made me feel relaxed, explained everything, every step of the way[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I was given eye numbing drops and did NOT feel any pain during the actual Lasik procedure. The only thing that is uncomfortable and can be slightly painful is when they put the rigid cups around your eye to hold it open. But that "pain" was around my eyebrow bone, and not the eye itself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But the doctor and nurse "counted down" the procedure so I was completely area of when "it was going to end". It was about 10-15 seconds on each eye[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. They tell you to go home to sleep after the surgery which I did, and it helped tremendously. The reason is that about 40 minutes after surgery, your eyes will start to water profusely, and you have to keep them closed anyway. That night and the next day I felt pretty good. Eyes were a little sensitive to bright lights and I used the eye drops, so they never dried out. They give you light goggles to wear for the first week or so, and they weren't bad, and I was able to them and sleep fine. Cost was under 4K for me, which is money well spent, as others have said, they have excellent financing options so anyone can get it. They also have a lifetime guaranty which they explained to me will let me come back and get adjustments if my eyes change - which is an excellent offering. It's been two weeks now and I feel like I'm 15 years younger and didn't realize what I've been missing. I was 20/20 my whole life but age-related vision impacted my like everyone else. Do your research on "Distance" versus "Mono-Vision" procedures. Again, for me, the "Distance" was my best choice. read more

So like most I was very worried, nervous etc about Lasik. To make this brief I was a better candidate for the PRK Lasik. For those who may be the same please don't worry. Yes the down time is a few days longer and yes you have to follow doctor orders more attentive but the outcome is the same and maybe a bit clearer. The first day or 2 was a bit rough, it was hard watching TV, and being exposed to light. Days 3-4 things got better but couldn't really look at my phone much. But starting at day 4 things got so much smoother. Each day got clearer and by day 6 after the temporary contacts were removed I started seeing closer to 20/20 as ever. My follow up is in 6 weeks and after that I should be good to go. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr. Joseph, Mrs. Peggy and the entire staff is absolutely amazing. They may be good at treating eyes. But they don't have much respect for their customers. We had to wait over 2 hours for 5 minute injection. And this is not a one time occurrence-it is EVERY time. The parking is horrible because evidently they have all patients come at the same time which causes parking problems. The waiting room is packed because because everyone gets there close to the same time. It is not uncommon to have to stand until a chair becomes available in the waiting room. These actions show the ultimate disrespect to a largely elderly patient population. I guess patient consideration is DEFINITELY not the main goal. But cattle action mentality ("show me the money$$$&") definitely is. read more

The office was clean, and the everything from the initial consult to the procedure went smoothly. I'm only 24 hours out from my LASIK procedure but I'm very pleased and I have no pain. I went in for lasik after being told I was a great candidate . Was never able to see well after the procedure. In fact my vision is now worse than when I went in originally . I kept going back month after month to be told my eyes were still healing or that they're dry . Finally they admitted that the procedure did not enhance my vision and basically washed their hands of it. I contacted the corporate office asking for a refund or partial refund at least to cover the optometrist and new glasses I had to purchase and was told to pound sand because I signed off in the fine print . I have been a patient here for 2 years. I needed to have cataract surgery and was refered to a surgery group in Arlington (Kleiman Evangelist). After looking at their bad reviews I asked for a second recommendation which was to Barry Stewart Eye Center, probably 10 miles from Seabert's office. They have a financial agreement (kickback?) with Kleiman Evangelista which is why they want you drive to Arlington. Also, I had a swollen eye and wanted to make an appt as soon as I could get in. The office was on voice mail for awhile (hours) and I left two messages that it was Urgent. That was weeks ago and no one ever called me back. I had to go to CareNow which was excellent. read more

The staff and medical procedures are great. But geeze!!!! : the wait time is ridiculous for every single appointment. After surgery i had i got a scratch on my eye( no fault of theirs) so instead of monthly appointments, I've had weekly appointments for 8 weeks straight. That being said, not a single appointment has ever started on time. Usually 15-30 minutes late. Today: 45 minutes and counting... if it wasnt for maintaining the warranty on the surgery, i would leave and choose somewhere else. read more

I've purposely waited a full week to confirm results before commenting on the experience and progress. Initial visit: appointment booking was about two weeks out. A little on the delayed side but not unreasonable. Arrived on time and the total time involved was about two hours, again not unreasonable. I went through several eye mapping and eye sight test to confirm the necessary corrections. Danni was great and walked through each step. She was very professional and knowledgeable. Consultation: met with Kendra and she walked through the results of the candidate exam. Price was a little more then I expected but again not unreasonable; especially when it involves your eyes. She advised of several payment options and ultimately I decided to move forward. Scheduling: couldn't be more immediate. Consultation was on Thursday and the procedure was the next day. The procedure: arrived on time and completed some paperwork. Was called back within 20 minutes and the nerves kicked in! Some numbing eye drops and stylish surgical wear and we were on our way to the OR. Met with the Surgeon and he walked me through the entire procedure, what I would see, what I would feel and most importantly what I would not see. That discussion couldn't have been more important in calming the nerves. The full procedure (walk in and walk out) took approx 15 min. Approximately 1.5 minutes per eye. The procedure was painless and was uncomfortable at worst for the 1.5 minutes per eye. It was freaky to watch and smell some burning but the OR Team talked to me about what was happening the entire time. Post procedure: keep your eyes closed and let them heal. It's difficult but extremely important. Phones ringing, work calling, kids running around doesn't matter at that point.. Keep them closed. The next day: immediately put eye drops in and went outside!! It was just shy of magical! Clear vision!! Throughout the week: Clear vision and I keep grabbing for my glasses on my face but they're not there. Eye drops every 30 minutes so it's kind of a pain but stay diligent. I encountered some eye strain after hours of reading through normal work but nothing painful outside of an occasional headache or two. The follow up: vision test results. 20/20 in my right eye and 20/15 in my left. (I'm left eye dominant). Overall experience: professional and knowledgeable staff, experienced Dr and a complete painless procedure. ( minus taking the tape off my eye) Thank you to the entire LVI Team for this next chapter and the clear vision that comes with it! P.S. Literally the best decision I made. From the consultation to the procedure end, everything was amazing. The consultation was easily and quickly scheduled and only took about an hour. The actual procedure could have been the next day but I waited a week. My procedure was scheduled for 10:30AM in which I waited maybe 2hrs from the waiting area, to the back where they put the numbing drops in your eyes and you wait to be called back to the procedure room. Once I got in the room the doc explained everything and got started and explained as he went along. The treatment was less than 5mins long. Recovery wasn't bad as I slept as soon as I got home and woke up pain free with better than 20/20 vision. read more
