In April of 2025, I had cataract and lens replacement on both eyes by Dr Nethery. It was pain free and my vision was restored to 20/20. I am back to one of my favorite pastimes, reading. My vision is clear, colors are brilliant and I can see street signs 100% again. Oh my goodness, I am so happy. Dr Nethery and his staff are professional, kind and efficient. The staff in the surgical area were sweet and fun which helped with the pre op "jitters". I highly recommend this office. read more

If you're looking for a specialty eye doctor I do not recommend Nethery Eye Associates. Let me explain. I've been having vision issues for a few years and was recommended to see a specialist for my droopy eye lids. I've had blepharoplasty, as well as Botox injections but now, I'm at a point where I'm being told I would benefit from getting a direct brow lift. My problem is not my diagnosis it's the way this office handles billing. After asking many questions about the procedure, prescription and costs, Nethery Eye Associates (NEA) gives me a quote for the doctor fees plus explains that there is a cost at the surgical center as well. I call the surgical center to get the cost. Two weeks later I have my evaluation appointment at NEA, see Dr. Sears and he explains the procedure again. I get to the front desk billing/ and she quotes me $1,000 more for Dr. Sears to do the procedure! I question her and she says the fees went up - then tells me she confirmed with her manager just this morning. I understand that I asked a lot of questions before I commit to a surgery, including why Dr. Sears refused to write it up as medically necessary when knows my past vision history and all that I've been through to try and see better. I might also mention that Dr. Sears was sitting 4 feet away from the billing assistant when she gave the $1,000 extra quote for his fee! Seriously? read more

Had an appointment for 9:30 in the morning. Filled out all paperwork that was requested online. Arrived at 9:15 and checked in. Sat in the waiting room for over an hour, and watched a lot of people who had come in after me get called back for their check ups. Went to the front desk to find out what was going on. Found out that my sign in had been lost. They offered to sign me in again, but I didn't feel like waiting for God knows how long again, so I cancelled my appointment and left. Happened last year as well. Never going back. read more

They are all about the money now. Told my husband he needed to be fitted for new eye prescription before cataract surgery because he'd definitely need glasses. A test that our insurance doesn't cover - $90. Vision changes after the surgery. Not to mention he may not even need the eye glasses, readers maybe. What crooks. I had both eyes done by Dr. Nethery many years ago and only need readers. I left the office after 2 days able to drive a car legally without prescription eye glasses for near sightedness. So what happens after the surgery? Dr. Sears tells him he needs another prescription because his vision changed? We will be cancelling his surgery appointment and getting a new doctor. I have gone to Nethery for probably at least a decade. So sad this has happened. read more

I cannot express how rude the staff member Kimmy was on the phone. She was condescending and terribly rude to my wife in which she had in tears. I listened on speaker to the call and I can say I was in disbelief on how rude and disrespectful she was. Good luck dealing with this staff. I had my cataracts removed in September of 2023. I still have shadows in the corners/periphery in both eyes. Nethery assured me that these would eventually go away. This was shortly after I had the surgery. When I went back a month or so ago- one of his underlings- who was nice enough btw- told me "oops - nothing we can do about that". It's a 24/7 unnerving thing to have to deal with. I wouldn't recommend this guy for any type of eye surgery. His "bedside" manner is equally as bad. Go elsewhere. Jennifer was amazing and sweet and as thorough as she could be. The Dr and Vicki were very quick but also polite and nice. But, why is it a $35 copay to see the dr and an ADDITIONAL $45 for the script for glasses?! (Every other place my mom has been has offered the exam and script for the same $35, but we were referred by my moms doctor after she told them her head hurts from her glasses. She had both cataracts done summer of 2015) They dilated my moms eyes and they didn't offer any glasses or even the cheap plastic wrap arounds (and it's Texas y'all, the sun is bright ) And they said she had cloudiness in her eyes (she's 75 it makes sense) but they were very pushy about having laser surgery and at billing the ladies were very nice, but it's like they're trained to get the signatures/appointments. This dr's office is NOT for those with low incomes. They're also pushy about making appointments so they can make money (or so it seems.) read more

I googled "Opthamologist near me" on my android and Nethery came up and it was minutes-perhaps five- from place in Euless. So I pressed the phone icon and called to make an appointment. When I arrived a couple of weeks later for my appointment I was told my appointment was at the Ft. Worth office. I did not know there was a Ft. Worth office. Seemingly when I called the number connected to the phone icon it was not the Bedford, and the only location I was aware of was the Bedford office. The great thing was that I was told that there would be no problem and that would see me at my appointment time. Very pleasant experience. Very nice staff. My wife wants to go there now. I had my left eye done last Monday and today I had me right eye done. The experience has been wonderful. The staff are very friendly and attentive. And Doctor Netherly took very good care of my eyes. Removing the cataracs was like lifting a veil from my eyes. I can see colors clearer and vibrant, no more glasses just some readers that's it. I would highly recommend the Neterly Eye Associates. My mother just had her cataract surgery today and while she is so far pleased with the results I am disgusted by the treatment we received by the staff. There is a requirement that a family member/friend be present during the surgery and I was my mom's only option. However, I have two young children so we called the office multiple times asking if they would be willing to just let me pick her up after the appointment was over so that my children would not bother the staff or the patients in the waiting room (because lets face it, kids can only - and should only- be expected to sit still for a limited amount of time. The office refused our request and demanded that I be there so we warned them that would mean. My kids were exceptional but after waiting almost 2 hours, they needed to get some wiggles out, so I found a secluded area of the waiting room and let them run around a bit. I made sure to make them stop when someone was walking by and ensured that their squeals were kept to a minimum. However, after a few minutes, a receptionist came and said that we were disturbing everyone and had the nerve to ask me to wait in the car, on a hot day!! If I could wait in the car then why was it a requirement to be there (FOR OVER 2 HOURS for a 10min procedure) in the first place??? I make sure to be respectful where my children are concerned and am furious that the moment the very thing that I warned the office would happen actually happens they treated us so incredibly rudely. There are plenty of eye doctors in town. I would use an office/doctor that treats ALL people with courtesy and respect. Do not ask someone with little kids to wait in a hot car if you are the one who required them to be in your office in the first place! read more

I just got off the phone with this office and the receptionist confirmed that mask wearing is optional for patients as well as for office and medical personnel. Despite having received good treatment up to now, I cancelled my appointment and will not be returning. This practice chooses to violate CDC Guidelines and the current recommendations of the Texas Medical Association who support the use of masks. If this medical practice exercises such poor judgment regarding basic issues of hygiene, I cannot trust the judgment of these practitioners regarding larger issues of eye care. read more

Dr. Nethery is no longer requiring patients or staff to wear masks saying each are free to decide whether to wear a mask or not. This is a Doctor's office and I expect them to follow medical advice and best practices as outlined by the CDC. I cancelled by appointment and will seek medical treatment from a Doctor who practices safe medicine. read more

I would like to give them zero stars if I could. The doctors are great but charlotte in the billing department is very rude! She told my grandmother this office is in network with my grandmothers Medicare advantage plan but she was wrong. Apparently only doctor Nethery is in network with her plan not doctor Abernethy Now she is stuck with a bill for 50%. Charlotte refused to take any accountability for her misinformation. Horrible business practices. Patients beware they misrepresent themselves and you could get stuck with a large bill because of it. read more

I was referred by my family practice doctor and was completely blown away by Dr. Nethery's skill and professionalism - head and shoulders above any other practice I'd visited. Having to cancel my cataract surgery because of a transfer to Fort Worth with my husband's job, I was in need of a good ophthalmologist. After asking around, Dr. David Nethery of Nethery Eye Associates was highly recommended. Now having had surgeries on both eyes, I can also highly recommend him to others. Charlotte is a terribly rude person and has no idea what she is doing. I went to Dr Haithcock's office because I thought I had an eye infection. On 10/5/2019 she confirmed that I had an eye infection and she provided me with prescription for medication. During the 1st visit I was told I owed $20 for the visit which I paid. Within a few days the condition cleared. I had a follow up appointment which I cancelled. The office called me back and insisted that I come in for a follow up visit. Reluctantly I did on10/12/2018. Within 5 minutes I was in and out of the exam room and was told the infection had cleared. Upon leaving I was told I still had a remaining balance from the first visit. I explained that I paid what I was requested and would wait for my EOB from my insurance company for further explanation. I was told there was no change for the follow up visit. After I got home on 10/12/2018 I checked to make sure my $20.00 have been deducted from my HAS account and I called Dr Haithcock's office. I spoke with Charlotte Rogers and asked her why they felt I owed more money. She told me she hadno record of the $20 I paid on 10/5/2018. We discussed at great length, I called my insurance company and paid an additional $70.51 on 10/15/2018 to pay the visit of 10/5/2019 in full. During that conversation I was told the follow up visit was included. On2/1/2019 I received a statement from Nethery Eye Associates for a remaining balance on the first visit and for the second visit, totaling $114.22. I called and spoke to Ms. Rogers and explained that this statement was wrong and that I should not have been charged for the second visit per out previous conversations. She said she did not recall having that conversation with me. I asked her to credit the second visit because I was not paying for a 5 minute visit for the Dr to tell me I was fine, and which I was told that the follow up visit was included and there would be no charge. On 2/12/2019, Ms. Rogers called me and said she found where the $20.00 was received and I would be getting credit for that amount. At this point I have paid via my HSA $90.51, but my EOM for the visit of 10/5/2018 was only $90.11. On 2/14/2019 I received another statement for $74.22 stating that my account is 45 days past due. These people cannot figure out what people owe and when, or how much, or even remember conversations they have with patients, it is a disgrace. read more

I had cataract surgery in early January and I still can't get glasses to where I can see! I can't read road signs or read a book. I am on my second pair of glasses now and still can't see road signs or read a book. I would NOT recommend this doctor to anyone! read more

What a wonderful experience! Dr. Nethery is an excellent eye doctor. He and his staff take great care of the patients. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and make sure you understand everything about your eye exam and any procedure you have done. I wanted to stop having to wear glasses and Dr. Nethery explained all options and helped me make the best decision for me. I had cataract surgery and Lasik surgery and could not be happier. Love being able to see clearly without having to wear glasses. Finally, the follow up care you receive is great. Just had my yearly exam with Dr. Nethery. My appointment was rushed and he didn't take time to listen to my concerns about my vision and glasses. He interrupted me to talk to his assistant and his exact words were "well, just tell me what you want." I didn't really know what I wanted -- that's why I was there to see him.
