During a recent class, my son--who was just one skill away from moving up a level--was struggling to pull all the pieces of the technique together. Although he had practiced the components many times, executing them fluidly was difficult. What happened next was nothing short of extraordinary. While his instructor was working with him in the pool, another staff member who was on her break jumped into the water to offer encouragement and hands-on support. Her initiative sparked something magical--one by one, the other instructors, lifeguards, and even the managers joined in, forming a circle of motivation around my son. They cheered, guided, and uplifted him with such enthusiasm that it brought me to tears. Their teamwork, compassion, and commitment to helping every child feel seen and supported created a moment my son will never forget--and neither will I. He was beaming with pride. I hired Happy Little Brush Strokes as a painting activity for a bachelorette party, and the company was so easy to work with from start to finish. I reserved my date several months in advance because their calendar fills up quickly! You're able to choose one of the paintings from their website and adapt it to what you need. I chose to paint full-sized wine bottles (and place fairy lights inside of the bottle so it lights up!) since the bachelorette party was "wine themed." The price was $30 per person for the experience. I believe if you choose to paint a canvas, it's $25 per person. Happy Little Brush Strokes came all the way out to Greenport, Long Island to do this activity. The instructor, Bob, was an absolute delight, who was filled with so much positive energy! He provided everything we needed for the event (paint, brushes, water cups, the wine bottles, fairy lights). The only thing we needed to provide were tables, table cloths, and chairs for our group of 7. The experience took just over two hours, and everyone had an amazing time!

We had a weekend visit to see this Long Island school campus and curriculum…read more I have passed this school off of Rt 110 many times but never visit the campus. I'm impressed by this school , the campus and facility! The school has a long history, well established within the Long Island community, and a diverse curriculum. The school tour was educational and the guide was given by students; some are better presenters then others. Overall it was worth the visit.

I have unfortunately witnessed staff mocking disabled students, gossip, and lack of professional boundaries w/ students (i.e., romantic grooming). FSC is known to have MANY concerning staff members who have been found guilty of serious misconduct. They either get swept under the rug, or get shuffled to the next SUNY school. Most misconduct goes unreported because the staff members are all "friends." And if you are a student reporting such misconduct? Good luck. You will face hostility, blame, and retaliation.

My main concerns were being judged about my body type and being a total beginner but from the first step inside I felt completely and totally comfortable! When you first walk in there is a little reception area where I was greeted by the owner. I confessed it was my first class and me, being the dummy that I am, I was an hour early lol! She told me I could stay for the class that was running but I opted to dip out and come back. When I came back, I met my instructor the Lyra Foundations, Gina, who was very friendly. She asked about my background and told me about what we would be covering that night. Class started with a warm up consisting of some stretching, then some conditioning, then on to the main event. Gina demonstrated how to enter and exit the Lyra and had us on our way to doing some neat tricks in no time. She made everything look easy but ya girl was working up a sweat (def bring a water bottle with you!) As for my concern about being judged about my body type, I am please to report there were people of varying ages, shapes, and sizes, and everyone was totally cool. I've since been back for another Lyra class and hammock too which is super fun. I can't decide what I like best and I can't wait to try pole. I think one of my favorite things about Cheeky Peach is that they legit have classes morning, noon, and night, so there is ample time to fit a class or two into your schedule. So, if you are on the fence, I highly encourage you to just book a class and step through the door. You'll be hooked!
