My son loved going here after school care. They pick your child up after school. My guy always had so much fun there and made a lot of friends there. One of them is still his best friend today. The people who ran the school were just the most kind and caring people, and I believe a few of them are still there today. They provided a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for my son after school while dad and I were still at work. We never had to worry about him when he was there, and that's just priceless. I am very thankful to Redwood country day school.

I have never had an issue with any teacher here and my kids have always came home with an exciting story to tell about how their day went at daycare. We have used Redwood for before and after school care with school drop off and pick up, spring break and summer break program! In the summer the kids are always going on fun field trips! My kids have made so many friends here and Nancy and Jacqueline are the best!! They treat us like we're family! They are always so caring, nice, and loving to the children. Even the young student teachers are great with the kids and help with their homework after school! As soon as you walk through their doors you feel at home. I have never questioned my kids safety at this child care, it is very clean and well organized with different age groups and fun activities to do! Starting my kids at Learning to Learn next door at the age of 2 and then started Redwood Country Kids Club at age 5 to now almost 11 and 12 is the best decision I have ever made with my kids care. I will truly be so sad when my kids finally age out. Thank you to Nancy and Jacqueline for all that you do! We love you!! Redwood is the best!!!

Let me tell you what he liked Cheerleader demo Knight day Dante the counselor.. Fencing instruction free dancing What he did not like The field trip to Jack London state park... BORING No swim day. some kid was bullying other kids ( not my son thank goodness) but I heard there was alot of pushing What I did not like. NO ONE, I repeat NO ONE checked my ID. I could have been some random person coming to pick up a kid. It was mass chaos and completely unsafe. The swim day that I paid for and that was hyped up by the counselors the day before DID NOT HAPPEN. something about the life guards being in class or on a trip.. does no one communicate there.? My son was completely upset, as was I. He was looking forward to that day. I asked several different counselors upon pick up how my son did for the day, I mean it was his first day, they should have gone out of there way to have a note or something. I told them how nervous he was. NO ONE even knew who the heck my son was. I even caught one counselor saying to me, " yes he had fun" then when I asked him who he was.. he had no idea. I told him don't lie about it, just tell me you don't know.. I don't blame you if you worked with other kids. HOWEVER, none of them bothered to find out who worked with the 6 year olds to let me know how he did. Shoddy leadership. The knight day, my son fell off some sort of bouncy thing, and landed flat on his back, hard, on the bare ground. He told me that one of the counselors thought they should call 911. my son being embarrassed shrugged it off. I don't blame them for that. Ice for his back would have been nice though. the problem I have is that NO COUNSELOR TOLD ME OF THIS INJURY!!! my son's back hurts very badly and I could only get the story out of a 6 year old. If you felt that the injury and his reaction would have warranted a call placed to 911, then why in God's name would you have not informed the parents of said injury?! How reckless and dangerous could you be? I just got off the phone with one of the directors of the camp, his response was " that one of his campers joked with my son about calling 911, after she did it she regretted it" 6 year old do not understand sarcasm. All they did was scare my son so much that he was going to have to go to the hospital that he pretended that it did not hurt. However he was in agony. We spent the whole weekend icing, heating the injury. When I asked why they did not tell me at the end of the day.. the director said they have 90 kids. When I told him I could have walked in with confidence, and walked away with a small child. He really had nothing to say. Even though my son liked some of this camp.. the bad outweighed the good.

At first it was very exciting for…read morehim...then he came home talking about swallowing too much water in the pool (not enough supervision), and a few weeks in he told me a friend punched him in the belly, and he didnt want to go back to camp. I discussed the incidents with a two counselers and they said everything was fine, and they would keep an extra eye on him. Great. They arekids, it happens. Then on a Wednesday afternoon I came to pick him up and the counseled told me that he and another child were got in an argument during playtime. My son told a little girl that "girls can't play" and pushed her. The other little boy punched my son, and he in turn punched him back. I was told no hitting is allowed, that my son had been "difficult" for the last few weeks, which I was never informed of, and he was not welcome back. I was totally taken by surprise and shocked. First off, they waited till the end of the day to tell me so I had to scramble care for him the following day. Also, that there were previous issues was never discussed or mentioned to me, even when I inquired! How can I help to stop these behaviors if I am not informed. Also, my son was the only child booted from the camp because of the incident....no hitting policy, but the other kid an stay.....Well, I was in no way looking to ostrisize another child. This just happens with kids sometimes, and it is up to the adults to handle situations properly. I went out of my way to take my son to this camp because I thought that this counselers had some knowledge on how to handle children. I cannot even describe my disappointment. My son was really confused, sad and ashamed because of the incident, which the camp supervisors never even apologized for, and acted very gruff when I went to discuss the situation. Thoses are memories i want him to have as a five year old from summer camp. And the kicker- it took almost two months to be refunded. Wow.
