I didn't know what to expect and didn't do much research in advance and it was just the best surprise! If you like art, crafting, supporting local artists or feeling inspired in general, you will love this place! Located in the Garfield Park neighborhood right next to the Tube Factory Art Space in the newly opened Contemporary Art Museum of Indianapolis (CAMi). This whole little area feels like being on a small campus for artists. I started at Normal Coffee in the Tube Factory and it was the best way to get the day started! I ordered one of their cheese toasties (sweet & savory and delicious!) and a flat white (made perfectly by a super kind and warm staff member). She brought everything out and then we made our way to the art cafe. The space that the art cafe is in is adorable! Bright and colorful with fun designs and the absolute kindest owner, Fran! There is a menu to look at where you can choose what type of art project you'd like to do. Fran mentioned that they had one paper mache moon left from the last menu and it's what I picked! Then I was given paint, the coolest brush cleaner and water dispenser, and later glue and glitter and gems for bedazzling! I could've also done a collage style piece but bedazzling was more of what I wanted. My friend decorated a flower vase and we both had the best time! We were there for about an hour and a half. Truly such a fun way to spend an afternoon! When we finished we meandered around all of the art galleries (which are totally free to browse btw). This would be the perfect spot for a friend catch up, date, or solo activity! In a separate room, Line and Form has another space for children's art classes as well! Can't wait to go back soon. It was the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon together. Upon arriving (to the super cute and cozy space) we selected items to paint and decorate- a cardboard car and magic wand were our selections- along with glitter galore. I forgot how fun glitter can be (especially when you're playing with it outside of your own home ). Note that there is a studio fee for everyone. They offer a variety of mediums and projects to meet various ages and interests where they are. I know they also change up the "menu" from time to time to keep things fresh. We had a delightful hour together and explored the CAMI exhibit after. Highly recommend for kiddos, dates, or an afternoon with friends.

My child has been going to this daycare since he was 4 months old, and we are still here 1.5 years…read morelater. It's been a great experience for our family! -Staff are genuinely caring and kind. They all know our child's name, greet us, smile and wave when people come and go, etc. Management has always been really nice and diligent. We have found the staff to be very trustworthy and thoughtful. -The teachers use an app to provide regular updates and pictures throughout the day, which is great (ex: times of meals and diaper changes, nap lengths, fun activity/craft updates, etc.). -We like the structured format and rules that come with sending our kid to a bigger daycare/company. There are quality standards and rules in place that seem to help keep things running smoothly, and with kids, that's huge. -All meals and snacks are healthy and included in the costs, diapers are provided on site and included in the costs, etc. -For a modest additional fee, our child does yoga every week and loves it! Every few months there are fun new activities around holidays in the day, and sometimes after hours events like family picnics and movie nights. -The caregivers and rooms change by age (about every 9 months it seems), which seems pretty standard. But I like that my child has a cohort of other kids the same age who he moves along with to the different rooms over time, and I value the diversity of all the classes so far. -We really loved the infant classroom - the 2 lead teachers run a tight ship, and we always felt like our child was in great hands. As our kid has moved to the toddler stage/rooms, things change but he is equally happy and delighted by the staff, and well-adjusted. Why not 5 stars? -I do not love the middle toddler room space; it's cramped and stuffy. I hope they can find some ways to remedy that or cut back on the number of people in the room at once. Otherwise, the facility is generally comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. -There is some room/caregiver changeover, and that can be confusing. I think that's more to adjust based on capacity at drop-off vs. pick up times. Sometimes I have a hard time keeping up with some of the teacher names and faces though (they do have a nice board in the front lobby showing who everyone is). Other info: -If any incident happens (such as 1 toddler biting another), they report it to you, document it, and come up with an action plan for how to handle if it continues. We have found the staff to be very responsive to any concerns that have come up (note: this doesn't happen frequently though). -There are few and far decent day cares on the east side, but we think this is a good option. It's also close to a Walgreens, Target/Post shopping centers, and several pediatrician options, so there are a few things nearby if you need them. -Another review mentioned drama but that hasn't been my experience at all. Maybe it varies by age/classroom, or maybe things have changed under the new director?

I first tried Care.com and other online sitter search sites and found them time consuming and less than reassuring. I would be on my own for interviews and background checks--way too much work and expense for a one-time event. Luckily, I found Sitters to the Rescue and it was exactly what I was looking for. They have their own network of experienced, background-checked sitters, and the service contacted a sitter who met my specific needs (infant, Saturday night, etc.) They were very knowledgeable about setting up a sitter in a hotel room and anticipated needs I wouldn't have, like having the sitter check in at the front desk. When our awesome babysitter arrived I felt completely comfortable. The hourly rate was a little more than if I had found a sitter on my own, but considering it included the legwork it was a good deal. If we need a sitter in the Indianapolis area again, I will definitely be using Sitters to the Rescue.

Our son just graduated from the STEM Pre-K program at CYC this past year. We were never less than…read morepleased with the quality of his care. His lead and assistant teachers were consistent throughout the year (no constant turnover and drama like we experienced at his previous center). The classrooms were spacious and well-equipped, and also serves as an instructional center for IUPUI students studying early education. We especially liked the STEM program as the class progressed through multi-week thematic units based on the children's current interests (e.g. simple machines, dinosaurs, castles, camping). Students use a blend of technology and tactile materials and toys, and our son was even able to read and comprehend short stories before leaving for kindergarten. There are a number of ways for parents to get involved as the classrooms go on numerous field trips and the center hosts family events and open houses. Class updates and pictures are provided via the Tadpoles app throughout the week. Parent conferences are held twice a year. The center is professionally managed by IUPUI and a friendly, new, hands-on director was just hired in spring of 2019. We would recommend the center to anyone working, studying, or living in the downtown area.

I have had granddaughters at Woodbrook for 5 years now. We visit the school frequently for programs…read moreand to pick-up the girls. The entire staff is very friendly and engaging. The kids love going to the school there. We appreciate that, in addition, to regular classes, they offer music and art programs. The girls have progressed well academically. The oldest granddaughter has taken advantage of special opportunities such as chorus and the school's announcements. The school building itself is somewhat dated, but surprisingly immaculate inside and out. We have been in the cafeteria and auditorium/gym for programs. The music programs and other special performances are top notch and inclusive. The accommodations are adequate. Outside, the playground facilities are very nice, typical of Carmel. The playground has climbing structures, swings, slides, basketball courts and fenced in structures for younger kids. The kids maintain a small vegetable garden on the grounds.
