I love supporting local and wanted to take my teen for a pottery painting experience. The mugs we…read morewanted were all dirty, but we were assured the markings would burn off. At $40 it's a pricey mug! I understand it's not just the mug, but the paint, rent, kiln, staff expenses. But it meant we'd only be painting one item at that price. So we chatted happily while my teen painted the mug and I asked to color in a tiny heart on the side to fulfill my art craving. That tiny heart, using no additional supplies or brushes, cost me an additional $10. We used 2 colors, 2 brushes and required no guidance, but the final cost of the one mug, plus 2 studio fees (because I painted a tiny heart), without drinks, landed up being over $65! That's a little OTT, but it was a great memory with my teen. I hope the dirt on the mug actually does burn off- because at $65, I'd hope to have an unblemished lifelong memento.

The good news is that it sounds like the plan is to possibly turn into a monthly subscription/paint at home and/or mobile class service, which means you could gather your friends and make an evening of it, which would be great for us introverts who need to recharge after people-ing!

They have everything set up for you and they have aprons available but I definitely encourage you to bring clothes you don't mind getting dirty. The instructor was great - she goes over a step by step demo and then with the whole class the instructor goes over the steps again and you end up with a piece of your choice. I ended up having time to make 3 pieces in total. Highly recommend - very fun and a nice challenge!

This workshop is small but full of bright colors and farm house vibe with lots of fun projects to do. We were greeted warmly by the friendly staff and this workshop started promptly with detailed instructions to explore 20 different scents and discussion of their categories. Both Zoe and Elizabeth were super helpful in guiding us to choose adjacent or complimentary scents for our candles, and the hardest part was choosing only 2 scents to make your candle! You reserved this experience online but you can also upgrade to a different containers (a tea cup or pumpkin - so cute!) and add extra candles onsite. The candle will need at least an hour to 2 hours to set so we were free to walk around Orenco station and got to snack and catch up while our candles were drying. My friend was able to pick her up that night but mine was not set yet so I had to come back during the weekend. They have so many cool projects to choose from and a good selection of beverages for purchase. I will definitely be back with other friends to try out other projects in the future. Megan does a great job instructing everyone and Jeff is great at supplying everyone's painting needs - brushes, paint, clean water, etc. Great venue for a girls' night out or even a date night! Everyone paints the same painting but you have the creative freedom to change it up however you like. Kids 10 and under can paint for 1/2 price on a smaller canvas too.
