But she has loved it here so much, and we've been so impressed, that we decided to keep her at Little Acorns for the school year instead. She comes home every day happy, calm, and excited to tell us what she did. We've seen such a difference in her behavior at home. She's more independent, more focused, and not picking up any of the bad habits we'd seen at previous schools! The teachers, especially Ms. Marzia, are so kind and nurturing, and the environment is warm and positive. The other kids are respectful, and clearly happy to be there. As a military family who's moved around and experienced a few different schools, we can honestly say this one is the best fit we've found. We're so thankful to have discovered Little Acorns!

When my child hadn't started walking yet, they put him outside to crawl on hot concrete. I cannot tell you how much it hurt my heart to see my baby crawling on the hard pavement like that. One of the teachers, Jasmin, would fasten my son's diaper so tightly that the straps crossed. It left red marks on him, and I honestly think she should not be allowed to care for any children. I don't know how she sleeps at night knowing she did this to a baby at work. The only reason I'm not putting 1 star is because Stassia and the Rabbi are nice. However, because of Jasmin, I could not continue sending my child here.

Setting up a tour and getting more information was a breeze. The facilities are clean, secure, and well thought out. Each classroom is explicitly arranged to encourage exploration and engagement. Ms. Corrales and all the teachers & staff truly care about each student. It always impressed me how they knew every kid's name and family, no matter which classroom or age. Our daughter always felt welcomed, safe, and cared for. As a parent, I truly appreciated the clear and quick communication we received from the newsletters, emails, and updated calendar on the parent portal. All questions were answered quickly. No communication was ever ignored or unaddressed. I looked forward to getting monthly Dragonfly newsletters and seeing photos of all the wonderful things they did. One thing I especially loved was how families were encouraged to come share cultural holidays, celebrations, and food with the class. Our daughter developed leaps and bounds in Dragonflies. A huge shoutout to Ms. Estrada, Ms. Jacdedt, and Ms. Ochoa! She's emerged more confident and capable. She problem-solves and approaches things from different perspectives. She is now in 1st grade and she still thinks of Malalai often, visiting her from time to time to 'catch her up on all she's been up to'! :D That relationship is a reflection of great memories and a nurturing environment that we are so grateful she had found there. The staff is so kind and friendly and it feels like family there. My son was so shy and timid to start there and they went above and beyond to make him love school and boost his confidence. My kids were so ready for Pomerado Elementary after attending pre-school here and they fostered such a love for school there that they have flourished since starting there. The tuition is one of the best and can't really beat the teacher:students ratio here as most places are 1:12 for older kids, but here it never goes more than 1:6. The hours are short though, 9 am-2 pm. So no nap time for the kids but it's ok, they can nap at home, even better for mommy! At this point there's a new director on board and although sometimes there can be some miscommunication between the parents and school, overall I still love this place.

My kids are very different and the program has met their needs so well. The kids are exposed to age-appropriate math, science, literacy, and language through experiential learning. My son has become a "biology expert, a chef, and an explore" this year. It is a very small program so the kids get a great deal of individual attention. My 8 year-old is still very close with some of the friends he made while he was here. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to send our children to such a loving program. Because it is so small, the program fills up quickly. Prospective parents must tour the facility and meet with the director prior to enrollment (in mid-March).
