The case for the legal fees went to a Circuit Court of Virginia hearing My lawyer decided not to attend and instead sent a junior partner, Bret Giaimo, whose hands were visibly shaking and voice kept breaking up with nerves. Judge Stoney was clearly not satisfied with the Giaimo's explanation for Jaros' billing practices and awarded me only 70% of my costs as reasonable, leaving me over $11,000 out of pocket. When I asked Jaros to amend his billing to better reflect what the judge determined as reasonable, he refused. Even when I asked him to split the difference he flatly refused. To add insult to inquiry, after the court hearing Jaros sent me a long email telling me that I should look at this as a victory because the defendants were not happy with the amount they had to pay out . He then billed me a further $113 for the 'pleasure' of his email. Overall, I was billed more than $40,000 and was awarded $29,000 by the court as reasonable fees. In this case, unable to handle getting dumped by his ex, Plaintiff - Mr. Atchuthan Sriskandarajah (an attorney himself) - filed a defamation complaint against his ex & two other parties. The complaint was rather stupid and had very little substance. Mr. Lee Berlik represented the Defendants and absolutely crushed the Plaintiff. In fact, during discovery, when the Plaintiff realized that the case was backfiring on him, it was hilarious to see the Plaintiff cave in so quickly from his original request of $2.5 million down to 10,000 dollars. In the end, Plaintiff did not get even a penny & his case didn't make it past the demurrer. Plaintiff even tried going to the supreme court but the supreme court did not even want to listen to such a stupid complaint. I know enough about defamation law to tell a good attorney from a bad one. Lee is the best defamation attorney & knows the law inside out. I would highly recommend Lee!

I was told that the attorney is not available and is not accepting new cases. They recommended me to another attorney. This law firm was from another attorney's recommendation. I am sharing this so that anyone considering using this law firm beware of waiting approximately 6 weeks for a scheduled appointment only to told that the attorney is not available and not taking additional cases.
