I'm going to save you months of time and countless tearful looks in the mirror: GO HERE FOR YOUR HAIR! I am particularly partial to Taylor as she is my stylist, however, I feel confident telling you to choose any of the stylists at The Legacy Salon with whom you feel comfortable, and book your appointment. Taylor is passionate about hair: everything hair-color, cut, care...you name it. My complimentary consultation with Taylor was the perfect question and answer session for both of us. Her questions are intuitive, and it is clear that she is listening. As it turns out, the color process that I wanted for my hair would have been quite uncomplimentary when considering my hair texture, my skin tone. Taylor explained 'why,' and provided fabulous suggestions that were completely satisfying. I like my natural brown color BUT with grey coming in, I thought I needed to go with grey-blending. I didn't want to-I don't like the way it looks on me. NOT ONE OTHER stylist in NC bothered to tell me (or even knew for that matter), WHY that was not a look for me. Finally, thanks to Taylor, now I knew. She is a plethora of information about hair color. She absolutely knows what she is talking about. Now, let's talk about haircuts! I watched other stylists at Legacy and Taylor recently cut my hair. Taylor and her stylists KNOW how to cut hair! After spending almost 2 years in NC searching for a salon that does superb color and cuts, I have found it. The other places I've been to have no clue what they are doing. I walked into my house after a simple conditioner treatment and blow dry and my family could not believe how healthy my hair looked. A week later after color and cut, my husband remarked that Taylor is without a doubt in first place for my hair. She joins a small but incredibly well regarded group of colorists/stylists: AJA (Bumble & Bumble, NYC), Charles Slider (Thunder Salon, Philadelphia...an ALLURE MAGAZINE BEST STYLIST), and Fatima (Faina Hair Salon, Sterling, VA...A Northern Virginia BEST STYLIST winner multiple times). When I say that Taylor knows her business, believe me. Next, I cannot imagine you will ever walk into a salon that will instantly make you feel as welcome and comfortable as The Legacy Salon. Nick is there behind the reception desk and is also providing services at the shampoo sink, etc., and he is so comfortable to talk to! Literally 5 minutes after meeting Taylor and Nick, I felt like I had known them forever. That alone is such a great experience especially after frequenting salons that have no clue about client relations to say nothing about hair color and cut. All that to say, if while you are sitting in your stylist's chair, and he or she is busy making TikTok videos, giggling like a school girl at another client's expense, and generally ignoring you, head for the door and never go back! I am almost one week post color and cut by Taylor at The Legacy Salon. All of my boxes regarding hair needs are checked. Last but not least, the fees at The Legacy Salon are reasonable, and a breath of fresh air when compared to the exorbitant fees charged at other salons. Additionally, the level of color and cut expertise is absolutely top-notch here. I researched for months and made my appointment, and I could not be more pleased. I had an amazing experience here. Judi and Donna made me feel very welcome when I came in late after having missed my appointment with Taylor. I came in looking to change up my style and didn't have much more than vague notion of what I wanted to do. Carla worked me in her schedule and spent time with me brainstorming different cuts and colors. She explained to me that as a new stylist, she didn't have a lot of experience with the cut I wanted. After having seen how meticulous and professional she is, I told her to go for it! I'm amazed with the results. Taylor freed up later in the afternoon and gave a very professional color consultation. Between the two of them, I now have a rockin' do and fresh new spring in my step. My daughter went to this salon for all over blond highlights. After having her hair bleached white, they #1."toned it down to a yellow, then #2 toned it down to an orange and #3 put an ashe toner over all of that. Needless to say and it came out horrific and orange-yellow color. Our appt was for 4pm and we left the salon at 11PM! Taylor refused to give me a credit of my $161.00 which I stupidly paid up from (I trusted her) - never pay up front, but I had errands to do......This morning I called chromastics hair color hotline and they told me that Jennifer (mentored the whole time by Taylor) overbleached the hair and should have used a different toner base mixed with their chromastics color (bluish or violet -i forget) so the color mixing was all wrong too. This salon does a treatment called "Crystal Gel." It's transforming to detox and fortify your hair. Seriously made my hair like it was 25 years younger. I went in with a horrible previous hair cut from a salon in Durham, and the owner gave a good cut to steer my hair in the right direction. Olivia and Judi consulted with me for almost an hour to understand what had been done to my hair previously, what I wanted and what they suggested and then fit me in to do it all the next day. What stood out most is how knowledgeable each of them are and what a great team they all are. Just had my second visit at Trouman's Hair Salon. My first and second appointment was with extremely talented and lovely Olivia. I went in for a trim and some lowlights. Honestly, people, this is the FIRST time that I actually received just what I was looking for and ended up getting much more. All of my brassie blond is now gone and replaced with beautiful lowlights that actually worked with my complexion. Olivia made excellent suggestions as to actual color of the lowlights, and bingo! She was right on target. The trim is also just what I had wanted from other salons, but never received. The cut is very flattering, and my hair is healthy and happy once again. I originally chose this salon by checking Yelp and Google reviews and am totally thrilled that I went with in and gave Taylor carte blanche with my hair. I LOVE the cut and the color. So much so that I have returned 3 times for touch ups. That may not sound like much but I NEVER get touchups on time and rarely do I return to the same stylist as I had not yet found a stylist who did a GREAT job with my hair.
