You get one chance to make a first impression. I received email correspondence from the customer service department asking me to substitute a different swimsuit because the one I ordered was 'discontinued'. I mistakenly ordered from the website thinking they actually had access to the elite competition suit (list price $599.00) I ordered and paid $50 more for expedited shipping. I understand supply chain issues, but to receive correspondence that states the suit was discontinued reflects a lack of leadership-awareness that points to impending doom for the business. In a world dominated by online retail, how can you afford to not know or care that your inventory has been discontinued. I understand 'sold out' or 'backordered', but to allow customers to expose personal financial information and commit to a product that is discontinued and has no chance of being shipped or delivered is evidence of a lack of reverence for the customer. Question to the Owner/Manager: Is this incompetence, website mismanagement, a deceptive business practice or something else? You be the judge: Now, they know it is discontinued(two days ago). I go back to the site today and add one of the 'discontinued' suits to the cart and go to check out and there is no mention of it being discontinued. How do you stay in business when these mistakes are not quickly rectified? I will not support a business that does not care about it's customers enough to quickly address its own shortcomings after they are brought to light. I hope this is an isolated incident(the site looks fantastic). For me it was the one and only occasion this vendor will get any of my time. read more

Customer service is complete garbage! If I could give 0 stars, I would. Ordered a $50 suit for my son and it was too small. Sent an email (since that what was recommended on the website) wanting to exchange for a larger size. Website said it might take 3-4 days to get a response. Fine. 2 weeks later, still no response. Bought another suit from someone else. Seems like I might get stuck with this $50 suit that doesn't fit anyone. This company is trash! Covid or not. read more

I gave The Lifeguard Store two stars and not a one only because of the cost. The prices seem good. Their customer service is horrible. I give customer service zero stars. I ordered 2 red suits that said "Guard" on them. We received 2 Red suits but only one had the word "Guard" printed on it. Then, when I received the new suit, it was navy and not red. It took 3 weeks before I heard back from them to know how to handle the situation. It is now September and I just got reimbursed for the suit that I sent back to them in July. The company really needs to revamp how they treat their customers. Getting them to respond is practically impossible. I called. I emailed. And it was weeks before anyone would respond. I was very close to driving the 2 1/2 hours to Bloomington to make the exchange myself. read more

I placed an order #000704876 on May 25th, I have not received my items but I was charged. Items were to be delivered by 6.7.21. . . this is the second order that this has occurred, Interesting that charging my card goes through right away. read more

I do not usually leave reviews and was hesitant to order from this store due to their previous ratings however, I had a great experience. I ordered a nike guard top because they were the only store that had my size in stock. I received my first package very quickly but was sent the bottoms instead of the top. I contacted customer service and spoke with Becca. She was very nice and helpful. They had the top sent to me with 2 day expedited shipping. It came within the 2 business days and the top was perfect. 4/5 stars just because I was originally sent the wrong item! read more

Awful company. I ordered 5/4, paid for 2-day shipping. On 5/9 I emailed them with zero response about a ship date. I called on 5/11 and was told they were too busy and behind with their orders but mine was set to mail out 5/13. I called again, still with no shipping info, on 5/15 and was told they would ship it out then because they didn't know why it wasn't shipped yet. It was finally shipped, after paying for 2-day shipping, 12 days after the order. Don't buy from here if you have any kind of time deadline. Terrible and incompetent. We were going to order $2000 worth of swim platforms from them, but will certainly order elsewhere at this point. read more

I should have read the reviews before ordering from the Lifeguard store. I ordered some Suit Saver Concentrate on June 4. I got the confirmation and they charged my card. It still has not arrived. I have called them multiple times and left VM messages, and emailed them twice. Asked my neighbors in case any of them got it, no luck. I finally had to just put a stop payment on my credit card. I am a lifeguard/wsi at the YMCA and all of our equipment comes from the Lifeguard Store, but my experience with them was really disappointing. I gave them two stars instead of one only because as far as selection goes, they are the best you're going to find, and the equipment (fanny packs, tubes, etc) are really good. But that's pretty much their only redeeming quality. At my YMCA, the guards buy their own suits, and at least twenty of us got ours from the lifeguard store. Again, great selection, but quality is so-so. The suits will not last more than one season and stretch out within weeks, and I, along with most of the female guards, went through two/sometimes three suits in a single season. So if you're looking for lifeguard gear, and you are 110% POSITIVE you know what you want, then by all means, but God forbid you ever need to return something or deal with customer service. I bought two swimsuits in early May. One didn't fit, so I filled out the return slip exactly as directed and mailed it back. But by late June, I heard nothing and saw nothing credited to my account, so I called customer service to confirm that my package was received. She asked for a tracking number, and for once I didn't have one (really was kicking myself for not doing that since they literally would not answer the question of whether or not it was in the building, won't make that mistake again), and that's when the woman from customer service informed me that in order to make a return, you actually have to call ahead and essentially make an appointment and receive a authorization number. There was literally no indication of this on their return policy, and it was the first time I had heard of such a thing. "call for authorization" was printed on the bottom of the return slip, but that was literally the only indicator they had this policy and to me it was not at all made clear. So customer service lady says, ok, it's probably delayed because you didn't get an authorization number, just wait it out for a week, two at most, and you should see your refund, guaranteed. FOUR WEEKS go by, no response, no refund. Keep in mind it's late July now and has been more than TWO MONTHS since they would have received the package. At this point I started thinking that it might have been lost or stolen, and I sent an email saying that they needed to confirm that they had received it, because if they didn't, I was going to report it lost to USPS. The customer service woman I emailed was about as helpful as a potato. Obviously did not give a damn about my problems with them. She responded to my complaint two paragraph complaint with literally one sentence: "what's the tracking number?" "I don't have one. I wanted someone to confirm that it was received and is being processed." "I don't see anything that says a refund was sent to you. If you don't have a tracking number I don't know if it's here." Is it really that hard to WALK TO THE MAILROOM AND CHECK IF MY NAME'S ON ANYTHING?? Then, FINALLY, after roughly TEN WEEKS after they would have received the package, I see the refund credited to my account. I sent the return to them in MAY and it took them THE ENTIRE LIFEGUARD SEASON to get my refund in early August. Also this refund came through only about a week and a half after I sent the email to customer service and she said that no refund was sent out to me, so it wasn't like my bank was taking forever. It means that these guys were literally letting my return sit on a shelf and collect dust for more than TWO MONTHS. And after this whole ordeal I talked to the other guards and apparently The Lifeguard Store is notoriously awful with returns even if you DO get an authorization number. So please, if you ABSOLUTELY MUST buy something from them, just take it and go. But honestly, there are much better stores out there for equipment and guard suits. I highly recommend Swim Outlet, I have never been disappointed by them. read more

BEWARE!!!! If I could give this company ZERO stars I would!!! I have now waited 24 days (19 business days) to receive our swim team suit and I still DO NOT have it! I have followed up 4 times and each time their Customer Service seems to get worse (hard to believe...right?!?!) and they all have a different story as to why it has not arrived. The Manager even told me that it got lost in their warehouse with no apology whatsoever. You're better off learning how to sew seeing that this has taken almost a month. read more

BEWARE---HORRIBLE QUALITY AND EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Ordered 12 red rash guards that stretched out to 3x the original size and completely faded to the point they were pink within 2 weeks of use. They led me on for 6 months about a new rash guard that was being ordered that they could replace with. They wanted the originals back to give me the replacements. After 6 months I gave up and asked for a refund which I was told was send in with no mention of still needing the original ones sent back. I tossed them of course because they were unusable and now they refuse to give me my money back because I never sent them in! read more

Ordered my daughter's team suit and assorted goggles and gear. Called after 11 days and nothing had arrived. Was told "they had to check the warehouse and they would get back to me." Then 2 days later still no return phone call AND I find that they have charged my credit card for merchandise that hasn't even shipped yet. So when I called again today I was told that their warehouse was closed for the day and they would check into this tomorrow. I asked her why my credit card had already been charged for merchandise that hadn't shipped and she said that once the card is charged the merchandise ships within 1-2 days. I told her that my card was charged the day after my order and here we are on day 13 with no merchandise. She had no reply so I told her to cancel my order. I also spoke with my credit card company and they said if I do not get a full refund that I should call the credit card company back and they will treat it as a fraudulent charge. We will NEVER order from this company again. (Also I know that other members of the team had a similar experience with their orders.) read more

Shop somewhere else! I ordered a 40 inch tube for Lifegaurding and they sent a 53 inch tube (which is way too Big!) When I called to say, "Hey, this tube is too Big; I ordered it by phone and was clear that it needed to be 40" why is it 53"? I was told that they were out of 40" tubes so they are sending out 53" tubes. If I want to wait for a month I can have a 40" tube. If I want a refund it will take at least a month to get the refund. read more

While customer service has been responsive and timely, there is still no resolution after 1 month. The products are of good quality but BEWARE: Be absolutely sure of your sizing. My son ordered 2 sets of swim goggles. When they arrived they were scratched and they leaked water (Could Not Use Them). Called back stating the problem. They sent another 2 sets and told us to keep the1st set (I guess to save on return postage). My son figured that the second set might also leak (Box Unopened) and decided to order Speedo goggles from the same Lifeguard Store. Called customer service and explained that we would like to send back the unopened box and they stated also return the 1st set and they would provide a return shipping an handling label and they would provide a full refund. When they received the package they explained the shipping and handling charges would be deducted from the full refund (I guess because the box was unopened). Still have not received the refund whatever that might be. Anyway, the customer service representative was very unfriendly, upset and very unprofessional. I used this place because of my bosses recommendation. The website failed to mention that the swimsuit I ordered ran small (competitively sized, and newbie me didn't know. ) and there was no sizing charts for the rash guard i ordered so i ended up exchanging both items. it has been more than a week with no mention on my account about my new stuff coming, so a few days ago i called to check on it, and they didn't even know if they had received my package of not(they had "a hundred refunds and exchanges to process") , but would call me when they found it. they didn't call back that day. (I called around 3 or so, they close at 6). I called about a day or so later and the lady I talked to was completely confused as to what i was talking about, so after explaining, told me the same thing pretty much and it would take a week or two to get processed. I wound up having to buy a swimsuit on amazon and have it shipped to me with two day shipping just so I wouldn't have to miss ANOTHER shift because I didn't have a swimsuit. also didn't like that i had to pay to exchange stuff that could have completely been avoided if they only had accurate sizing charts, maybe they wouldn't have to process so many exchanges and refunds, and avoid the whole drama. Maybe ill get my properly sized items by the end of summer. read more
