Surprised by some of the reviews, because this place is great. It started with a call with Tony and right through touring & signing with Jen all was really smooth. The facilities are top notch -both 7th and 37th floors- and I am frequently impressed by how thorough the cleaning staff is. In fact, I just left my iPad in the massage room and realized my mistake a mere 5 minutes later. I was in a panic but housekeeping had already discovered it and brought it to the second floor desk. Amazing. Yes, things break, but that happens irl. The key here is they alert us to the problems and seem to be immediately on top of things. This building markets itself as "luxury," but going on 11 days without hot water, impacting multiple floors, says otherwise. Management has provided no real updates beyond repeated "2-3 day" estimates that clearly haven't been accurate. Hot water is a basic necessity, not a luxury. The lack of urgency, communication, and resolution has been incredibly disappointing. Being told to use shared facilities while paying full rent is not acceptable. Elevator outages have also been frequent since I moved in, with wait times up to 30 minutes or having to take the stairs (including with groceries/luggage), which is unreasonable in a high-rise building. I live on a floor in the 20s so it's not as simple as going up a few flights. The only positive is the front desk concierge team, who have consistently been great. If this is "luxury" living, I would strongly reconsider. read more

The property itself is stunning. I mean truly breathtaking - the kind of place you're excited to show visitors. The views, the design, the common spaces are genuinely impressive. The bones of this building are exceptional, and the cleaning staff and concierge team are friendly and do their best to help residents. But the management (Greystar/Toll Brothers) has serious problems with amenity maintenance and follow-through. I moved here in March 2025, specifically for the heated pool and cold plunge, which I need for a medical condition. The cold plunge has been out of service since June 2025 (8 months). The pool heater has been broken since October 2025 (4 months). Both remain advertised on the website. Despite requesting a reasonable accommodation in November 2025, it took until February 2026 and a threat to file a federal complaint for management to respond. By then, I'd already paid $230+monthly dues in outside gym costs to access the aquatic amenities I'm paying for in my rent. But here's the rub: when management finally offered accommodation in February (original request in November), it was access to a sister property 0.6 miles away with no parking. A 30-minute roundtrip walk for someone with a medical condition requiring aquatic exercise? By then, I'd already joined a gym 3 blocks away. Too little, too late. Other recent reviews mention similar amenity issues. This appears to be a pattern, not a one-time maintenance problem. I've filed Fair Housing complaints with HUD and CCRD. As of February 2026, no repair timeline has been provided for either amenity. Bottom line: Beautiful building, friendly staff, but management doesn't maintain what they advertise. If you're considering this property for specific amenities, get written confirmation they're currently functional before signing. I hate that I have to leave a negative review but feel I should warn others. I moved into The Lindley seeking safety and peace of mind after a prior stalking situation...something management was fully aware of before I signed my lease. That trust has now been completely shattered. A friend of a friend touring the building recently discovered one of my prescription medication bottles from inside my apartment in a model unit. There is absolutely no reasonable explanation for how something from my medicine cabinet or nightstand could have ended up there. This strongly suggests that someone with authorized access entered my home without my consent and went through my personal belongings, stealing medicine. To make matters worse, a staff member threw the bottle away, destroying potential evidence such as possible fingerprints or refill information, and then was combative, unprofessional, and dismissive when confronted. This was not a simple mistake, it was a serious breach of privacy and possibly unlawful conduct. She did not report this to myself or the building, clearly attempting to sweep the incident under the rug. What was supposed to be a safe home has now become a source of fear and anxiety. I no longer feel secure here. And I'm clearly not the only one, as several other reviews describe staff members entering apartments unannounced. I encourage anyone considering moving here to read those reviews carefully before signing a lease. You don't think it will happen to you until it does. This is not a routine property management issue. It involves unlawful entry, stolen property, destruction of evidence, and serious violations of tenant rights. Last week, a car was stolen from the garage. I would seriously think twice before moving into this building. Don't let the amenities fool you, they're usually broken anyway. read more

Tony and the leasing staff are truly the worst humans I've ever had to deal with in any apartment complex I've ever rented in my 12 years of rental history. The gaslighting, neglect, and completely disregard for humans this place has is truly one in a kind. After my partner and I had to move back to LA for family health issues Tony (and staff) were first extremely kind, then completely negligent while we tried to find a replacement during a really emotional time in both of our lives. We found multiple replacements to help with the process who eventually had to drop out because the lack of communication and complete unprofessionalism in the process. To make matters worse, they will refuse to accept any responsibility and have no issues or regard for you while they try to make you pay a lease break fee. It's truly sick the experience we've had. Probably should've known after we found out to get out of the low income housing requirements they made half the building a "luxury hotel" because they truly don't care about anyone. Karma will follow eventually, but I definitely wanted to do my part to warn everyone how nasty this complex is. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE! This building is an absolute nightmare. The management is completely unresponsive, and it's an unsafe environment, especially if you have children. I am stuck in a 15-month lease and regret every single day that I decided to live here. The security in this building is a major issue. There are no restrictions for outsiders. Anyone can walk in through the garage if they are followed by a resident or use the elevator to access the floors. Once inside, they can freely walk up to any floor, all the way to the 11th floor. There are no proper security measures in place, which is a huge concern for me as a mother. My daughter's safety is constantly at risk, as there are people wandering around the building who shouldn't have access in the first place. I've had numerous instances where strangers have been in the hallways, checking doors, and I have no way of knowing who they are or if they are a threat. The Butterfly entry system that's supposed to regulate access to the building hasn't worked since I moved in, making it impossible for me to let guests or deliveries into the building. I've been locked out of my own apartment multiple times with my daughter inside, and when I reached out for help, I was told it could take up to two hours for someone to assist. The fact that there's no one available to help, especially in an emergency, is completely unacceptable. The amenities are also poorly maintained. The pool and hot tub have been closed multiple times due to safety violations like electrical and chemical issues, which is a serious concern when you have young children. The "cold plunge" is not properly regulated--it's warm, dirty, and not being kept up to the standard promised. They also said they would upgrade the gym equipment, but that still hasn't happened, and the current equipment is outdated. The gym's access to the outside area is broken, and the yoga mats are old and filthy. In addition to these safety concerns, packages are frequently stolen from the package room. Despite having proof of deliveries, the concierge has told me there's nothing they can do, and I've been left without any recourse. The building is filthy because hotel guests staying through Kasa have access to our amenities, and they are leaving the place dirty and undesirable. The management promised us a luxury experience, but the reality is that we're living in a rundown building with little to no support. Management is completely unhelpful. I've submitted multiple complaints, but no one has ever followed up or offered solutions. Maintenance requests take over a week to be addressed, and even then, nothing gets done. I was promised clean windows when I moved in, but after months of waiting, nothing has been done about it. This is not the luxury living experience I was promised,it's a disaster. This building is mismanaged, unsafe, and not worth the price. My daughter's safety is my priority, and I'm constantly concerned that I made the wrong choice by moving here. Save yourself the trouble and do not move here. It's not worth it, and you'll be putting your family at risk. read more

We got an Airbnb for Kasa Little Italy which is in the Lindley building. Place is amazing! Two bedroom unit very well priced and the best part is you get to access the all the amenities all the residents forking over $5k a month pay for including a pool, hot tub, full gym, sauna...fantastic! Have we gotten a few death stares from the people who live here and know we got the place via Airbnb? Yep! Did we overhear a woman in the elevator tell her friend, "this place is like a fuc&ing Best Western? Sure did! Still though...if you need an Airbnb in a great SD neighborhood look no further than Kasa Little Italy! Thanks for having us y'all!! read more

Weeks to respond, if they bother at all. The Assistant Manager is a black hole of unhelpfulness. The actual manager? A ghost. Leasing agents are sweet but clueless, probably trained to dodge the truth to keep the machine running. Shoutout to Jennifer, the lone brain cell in this operation, but even she can't save this sinking ship. Front Desk Security: Where Art Thou? Don't expect a guard at night, on weekends, or early mornings. Packages go missing because no one's there to receive them. You're more likely to see a tumbleweed than a security guard. Sigh. Since this new manager Kaliee showed up, it's gone downhill. Daily googling other places to live...again I ask what happened to Amber?? We didn't have these issues, and she knew how to talk to people!! I am FIGHTING them to remove extra insurance charges that continue to show up on my account (note: you **have** to check their monthly accounting - it is often wrong). You know what's the funny part? I used Assurant (their insurance company that they have partnered with) to get insurance for the place - and I provided those records on DAY ONE. so they are charging me double insurance for my unit, and telling me it's a "glitch". I am still waiting for them to remove the extra charges, even though I have continued to bring it to their attention. The parking situation - they farmed that out to Parkade so they have "no responsibility" - yet all of us are experiencing that if we happen to come home in the middle of the day, there's someone parked in our spot. Threats to tow us residents if we don't pay for a spot, yet no monitoring of the garage. Mind you a spot is $250 and up a month... Let's talk about the common areas that are now starting to look grungy and smell...the "cold plunge" apparently froze over and is out for months, and the sauna is DIRTY...don't get me started about the "free" nonexistent kambucha in the common areas. They recently changed the cleaning crews, and the bathrooms are now DIRTY, especially on the 7th floor...they go for a couple days at a time without cleaning. One of my neighbors has a kid, and they had a gas leak situation in the apartment that has left them extremely concerned. they barely bothered to fix it, and it's just whatever. Another neighbor moved out because their whole apartment got flooded while they were away on business, and these cruel people just ignored them and refused to support them getting back to normal, even thought the flood was their fault...they have a hotel right downstairs, they could have at least offered them a room while they were doing the construction. But we are nothing but money to them. Reporting them to BBB, because this insurance thing appears to be a way to acquire extra income to boost their bottom line - I'm not the only one it's happened to, apparently. Would not be surprised if this is a ploy, in addition to the recent new "service fee" to "provide utilities" to us (mind you SDGE and Conservice already have service fees for utilities...I guess Greystar found a way to jump in on the action). They forget that this is where we live, and good service is important to us. Not all of us are here to be instaglammers or sell services or look cute. We live, work and play here. After a misunderstanding we were able to reschedule the tour for another time and I found the building and staff to be top notch.

They're pretty terrible at keeping their scheduled appointments made weeks in advance. For a building that isn't even open yet, this is a terrible sign for what living there may look like. They also don't allow typical year leases - the shortest available is 22 months. I think you should generally also be wary of a building that isn't open yet - they usually try to get people in there before all amenities are available to be used. Hopefully I'm wrong. read more

I've never felt more confident and aligned in making a place my home as I do with the Lindley. My fiance and I are moving in this week, and the team at the Lindley has been super accommodating. We did a tour, and didn't feel rushed. We viewed several different units as well as the amenities (were what really won us over), and all of our questions were answered. Jenn has been really communicative and helpful in our process of signing the lease, scheduling our move, and any popcorn questions that have come to mind along the way. I've popped in a couple times randomly to ask questions as the building is currently a neighbor to the gym I belong to - and the team members that were in the office were also really helpful. I've toured and visited different high rises in downtown San Diego and Little Italy, and this one feels the best for a lot of different reasons. You can tell when someone truly cares about the work they do, and the people they support...he is serious, committed, dependable, professional and passionate about our day to day experience. Trimana brings joy to my day, every day. He's there everyday - with a big ole smile...you would never know he averted a crisis seconds before you walked up to him. He gives the building an extra finesse to it. Thinks on his feet...always alert...he protected the building from quite a few unfriendly intrusions to the property already. He is the concierge everyone on our building depends on - literally, he is always on the money for solving issues quickly, whether it's a lost package, a reservation or just general guidance on life in the building. We are spoiled to have him...I mean, spoiled. He's the whole Lindley cupcake and the cherry on the top of it! I appreciate you sooo very much for being a part of my perfect experience here. We had a great experience! We looked at multiple buildings and this was absolutely the best option. The design, amenities, staff, views, and apartments were amazing. Jennifer from the leasing office was extremely helpful, responsive and knowledgeable. She made us realize this was definitely the building for us and made sure we found the perfect apartment that suited our needs. We couldn't be more grateful for her help.
