Overall, Aspen Park is the easiest disc golf course in Omaha. It's flat with wide open drives on every hole. There are a few trees around some baskets that require skill shots, but such shots can easily be avoided most of the time. Pros: A fun course for a quick round when you want to avoid the crowds at nearby Seymour. Also a great place to practice some distance drives for more skilled players (especially hole 7, which is a whopping 600+ feet). Likewise it's a great course for beginners, as there is nothing intimidating about the course and it's pretty much impossible to lose a disc. Cons: Like I mentioned before, there's not much challenge to Aspen Park. Every hole is literally straight forward. Also, it sits on a flood plain for the Big Papio Creek, so expect it to be a bit marshy for a couple days after it rains.

Cool day trip, however, read the full thing. I had heard…read morethis was a cool day activity and had wanted to do it for over two years. John took me for my birthday in the middle of the week. He planned everything and was in contact with Brock, the owner who was super responsive and helpful. He sends out emails with information, packing list and makes sure the weather is good for tubing. When we got there, btw place is easy to find using his address, we signed a waiver and were loaded on a school bus. We were dropped off at a river crossing location and our tubes were attached as well as a tube for our cooler, we were given a paddle and that was all. We were on our own for this 4 h adventure down the river. I should pause to say most people that do this have a different plan and they usually have a big party with a big group and loud noise water guns etc. Our plan was a little different, more of enjoying the river and the scenery. The river itself is dark since the bottom is muddy so no clear waters, but it's clean, there are some tree branches here and there, but no trash itself. There are sandbars along the way where you can stop. The trip usually lasts about 4 hours which is significantly more than what I would've been on the tube if I would have had the choice. We applied sunscreen repeatedly and we still were pretty tan by the end of the ride. Bottom line: well organized and good idea, it gets 4 stars because the river is not the prettiest and the ride is too long (for my taste) maybe offering a half ride from like the bridge on Center might be a good idea. Oh, I almost forgot, bonus points: we saw our first bald eagle!!

I came on a warm October afternoon to check out the nine-hole disc golf course. My first impression was a good one. This course is well maintained: manicured fairways, clean baskets and concrete tee pads. While none of the holes were much more than 300 feet from tee to pin, there were plenty of trees and shrubs to add a bit of challenge to your throws. The first four holes are just north of the parking lot as your drive in. The back five are tucked behind the monument, and offer a more secluded environment, complete with sweeping valley views in between some seriously tough shots -- especially hole seven, a real beast of a hole. As is the case with a lot of local courses, I spent much of my first round attempting to find the tee pads, a few of which aren't marked properly. This is easily fixed, however, so hopefully the local disc golf club has something in the works.

They have a small pair of batting cages and bull pens for each side. Parking is somewhat decent for a smallish crowd. Trees are overgrown surrounding the parameter of the ballpark so losing numerous balls is easy.

The area is surrounded by trees so there's not much open area to walk around. There are 2 batting cages on each side and a bull pen for each team. The seating is small and there's only 2 bathroom stalls for the women. I'm not sure about the men's stalls. They do have a war memorial upon entering the ballpark in memory of the fallen soldiers who've played ball in the local area.
