The experience was decent, but you might be better off going to a larger store, depending on what you need. The chick at the counter was friendly and very helpful, so they get points for service. It's such a small place that they really only need one or two people to run it. Their selection is not very extensive, but they did have the small things I needed. So like if you're in the neighborhood and just need to pick up a new pair of hiking socks or a headlamp or something like that, Moose's Tooth should be fine. They also had several clearance racks for clothing. However, if you need something bigger or out of the ordinary, you'd be better off going to an REI or a Cabela's or a Scheel's or whatever you have in your area. Honestly, the biggest turn-off for me was price. I only bought one bag worth of basic hiking gear and it ran me up into the triple-digits. I do need them, and I wasn't able to get to a bigger store, but still. They are a little overpriced.
