She's an expert on this sandwich and she said it was the best she had ever had. I probably roamed the market for an hour picking up candy, jams and bread. Staff aren't attentive, produce selection is horrible (today I wasn't able to get half of the produce I needed because what was on the shelves were disgusting looking - bruises, moldy, old, soft, damaged, etc.) Prices are much higher than Walmart, Kroger in Knoxville, IGA and definitely much higher than Aldi. Deli is really slow most of the time too. Today, like nearly always, the checkout was disappointing. Today was exceptionally bad though; bagger was incredibly inattentive. The cashier wasn't terribly friendly, but the bagger was not paying attention to anything, had really red eyes, and he couldn't focus. He was mindlessly putting things in bags that should never be put together... Raw meat with fresh fruits, bread with heavy items, 6 heavy jars in one bag, frozen with pharmacy, overstuffed bags, ripping bags and more. Not only was the bagger's attention non existent, when we tried to ask him to bag things more thoughtfully he got upset and we ended up bagging much of our own groceries. About 6 staff members just stood by laughing and talking, not helping guests either. Why so many people doing nothing? I get it that it's hard to find quality people, but lack of training and lack of care for customers shouldn't be tolerated. These are basic components of the most simple guest service in retail. I wish it would get better. Produce that isn't bad, slow deli and routinely bad check-out experiences make it almost impossible for me to support this local business. I'll have to keep driving into Knoxville. Only thing good about this location is the pharmacy. They've been helpful and they're kind and friendly most of the time. That's why it's 2 stars instead of 1. Pharmacy is good.

They are definitely more of a small neighborhood deli/grill than a store (unless you're looking for beer, tobacco or soda) but they were spoken of so highly on FB for their burgers so we tried them today. Coming in it looks like an old store under construction (don't let this scare you away). There were 6 others in there getting burgers when I came in and another 12+ came in after me (at 1:30pm). These are hard working, blue collar, good folks - neighbors, farmers and people from the community. They knew what they liked and this place is it. We ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers and 2 fries. It was only 21 bucks for it all. The burgers were juicy, BIG, and high quality. The fries were hot and tasty. The bacon on the cheeseburgers were super thick and hearty. They are doing things right and with high quality and it shows by how many people love it. We live close and will be back often for burgers!

Marble rye is hard not to burn and they did a good job for the most part, but I tasted more crust than I did pastrami, and for $18 I wonder if this sandwich was more a charge for the hype. Less than an hour after our meal, I developed severe diarrhea, and every time I tried to eat afterward, it became worse. My symptoms lasted for several hours, continuing until about 1:00 a.m. My wife also became sick shortly after me, though her illness wasn't quite as severe as mine. The only other meal we had that day was breakfast at around 7:30 a.m. at a different restaurant in another state, several hours before lunch. While I can't say with absolute certainty what caused our illness, the timing of our symptoms makes us strongly suspect it was related to the food we ate here. Because of this experience, we won't be bringing our family back.
