It's full to the brim with entitled 20 somethings using the tables as their own personal office space. This is such a staple coffee shop to the community. It offers ample space to work or meet friends for a coffee date. We typically enjoy it for working on weekdays when remote. It can be quite busy at all times, but with good measure since they produce some high quality stuff. Im really impressed with their cinnamon toast latte, and I seem to always come back to it! The lobby is a cute cafe in excelsior (with excelsior prices they have a few pastry and sandwich options along with the coffee menu. I had a chicken panini which was good I would have like it with a salad as a side but they didn't ask me or my two friends about which side and defaulted to chips. I enjoyed my the coffee and sandwich just found the chips a little salty and a salad would have balanced the meal better so don't forget to ask if you go there. There's a shared Bathroom between other businesses could have definitely used some extra cleaning. read more

Popped in here while in the area and immediately loved the brick and modern look to the place. It was busy but I can expect that on a Sunday early noon. Staff was efficient and wasn't waiting too long in the line. I didn't notice any restrooms inside however there was much open space and enough seating to accommodate the business. They also have delectable pastries and some wine options. I ordered the hot cinnamon toast latte which I think is really good. Bit of honey vanilla and cinnamon flavor. If you are looking for a nice modern coffee shop to work in the morning this looks like it might be a great spot. Lots of seating with tables inside and out. A fun location right in downtown Excelsior. I have been here twice now and I remember being a lot more impressed with the drip coffee last time. This time it was pretty standard. Stopped in for coffee/matcha on a Sunday afternoon on the way to an event in the area. The line wasn't too long but it stayed consistently busy. There's only one cashier and the menu is displayed a few people back in line so you can decided what you want before approaching. There was a bit of a wait as one customer had a lot going on at the counter. I ordered an iced strawberry rose matcha & it was good! It's part of the seasonal specials. We have been visiting Minnesota for the last two weeks, hear from phoenix. We always are on the hunt for the best Coffee house. We went all up and down the North Shore and then down into Minnetonka Lakes. I have to say this was our favorite one. (We also enjoyed Fika on the North Shore). Not only was the coffee delicious, but it was presented in such a nice way. It elevated the whole experience. The coffee was so nice that we went back in and bought the medium roast Super Nova beans. They were worth waiting in line a second time. We also enjoyed the almond croissant. We were there later in the day, so it wasn't quite as crispy as it probably was first thing in the morning. It was a very nice experience - nice people, clean bathrooms, and great location on the Main Street with cute shops. read more

This was my second visit to The Lobby and wow, their orange espresso tonic is the bomb! It brings big orange notes without the cloying sweetness of syrups. We came on Valentines Day before hitting up the antique store down the street. This is a charming tiny shop! I was surprised they had such a big food selection as well but as busy as it was, we decided on some iced coffees. I got the "Oh Snick", a snickerdoodle seasonal drink and my boyfriend got the iced Cinnamon Toast Latte. Both were just ok, his definitely had a more distinct flavor and they both could have used a lot more ice! Overall it was a cute stop on our Saturday morning and I'd like to try it again during a slower time and maybe try some of the delicious food we saw being served. read more

Loved my coffee here this afternoon! Busy coffee shop with a cute brick decor. Lots of hard surfaces so it gets loud. I wish they posted their menu so everyone could see it, but instead they have a stand near where you order with some of their offerings and then a chalkboard that shows specials. They had a cereal latte which I always think is fun but I had the cinnamon toast latte in a mug and it was perfection! Every sip was delightful. I would drive 40 minutes to get back to have another tomorrow if I could. Iced coffees are served in mason jars. They have a display case but only a few bagels in it when we were there. I'm not sure if this was because of the busy Memorial weekend or if this is the norm for 1:00pm. But I did notice they are open until 7:00 pm so it seems like a long time to go without fresh food. Beautiful space, great service, and yummy drinks! I love the decor of the space, it's very nice to look at! We ordered an iced cereal milk latte half sweet and iced cappuccinos. The cereal milk latte definitely tasted like cereal milk, which was so cool! It had a bit of a bitter taste to it though that didn't seem right, I don't think it was from the espresso but I couldn't put my finger on what it was. I still finished it though! The iced cappuccino isn't really an iced cappuccino (when I order an iced cappuccino I'm expecting espresso with a little bit of milk, about half the amount of milk that goes into a latte so that the espresso flavor is more pronounced), but theirs is basically an iced latte with a cream top. Still good, but a bit of a misleading name. Anyway, a fun spot to check out if you want coffee and are in the area!! read more

I went here for an afternoon stop before dinner with a friend. The coffee shop is nestled in a boutique street. I recommend if you're in the area cruising around. PARKING I was able to fine street parking. My friend said she parked in a lot across the street. DRINKS I am not a coffee drinker (I go for the vibes and coffee less drinks). I got a hot chai because the matcha latte had high caffeine, and I didn't want caffeine in the middle of the day. The chair was light. I just appreciated something warm. My friend got a coffee drink that was listed on the chalkboard. I forgot which one. She loved it. She said it tasted like Christmas. SERVICE Quick service! Nothing to complain about. Excelsior coffee shop within walking distance to the lake, count me in! Dropped in on an early Sunday morning and ordered their Cinnamon Toast Latte along with a black coffee (light roast) and (2) sandwiches. The latte has the smooth delicious bitter taste you get from Cinnamon with a creamy dreamy foam on top (did I mention they do a latte art, YES). We also got a sausage and a bacon breakfast sandwich, and they are so tasty. My boyfriend said probably the best coffee shop Sammy he's had to date. The eggs on each Sammy were over medium with a soft yet crispy bun and great for sharing (or finishing entirely on your own). The lobby is a clean aesthetic which I find is very popular in coffee shops now. Ample seating with a back patio and from of building seating. Parking is both street and rear (no charge) and very walkable to various shops and of course the lake! We spent about $8/sandwich and $7.25/ latte. Will absolutely be going back! read more

What a cute little coffeeshop in downtown Excelsior. Came here for 7 hours while my car was getting fixed, and I was doing some work and meeting up with people at the same time. The workers are nice, they serve food, coffee, alcohol and they are happy hour. It is very spacious and lots of sunlight. It is next to a boutique hotel. Super cute. Love this coffee shop in excelsior! They have creative coffee drinks that you don't necessarily find elsewhere. Some of my favorites are the maple cardamom latte & the cinnamon toast latte. They are serving up delicious Patisserie 46 pastries. It is a beautiful space, located right in the middle of downtown Excelsior. Perfect place to grab a coffee and walk down to Lake Minnetonka. Stopped here during the Excelsior art fair for some refreshments. I immediately spotted the passionfruit tea and my friend wanted to try that as well. I'm getting my bestie into teas and she was blown away at how tasty this tea was. We confirmed it is made in house. What I appreciate is that they do not add sugars. I first heard about the Lobby Coffee from Felon on KDWB and knew I was going to stop in while attending the Excelsior Art Fair on Saturday. She recommended the iced cappuccino which never knew was a thing, but couldn't pass up an iced passion fruit tea this visit. Stopped in for a quick drink during the Excelsior Art Fair! This cute little shop had a great list of coffee, teas, and lemonades. I got the strawberry lemonade and it was perfectly sweet and refreshing. The barista told me she had made the syrup with real strawberries! My bf said the coffee was "delicious" which is high praise from him since he's a coffee snob. I used to live in Excelsior, and all I ever wanted was a luxury coffeeshop. Fast forward a few years and it finally exists...and I no longer live in Excelsior :( Street parking available, and I think they will have more parking in the back after construction of nearby spaces is complete. The space itself is lovely. Minimal decor, exposed brick, plenty of natural light, and expensive finishes make this a no-brainer for a work from remote kind of day. Plenty of different size tables for solo or group work. Service was very friendly throughout our stay! The coffee was perfect! I had the Maple Cardamom Latte, which was flavorful, not too sweet, and still espresso forward. Clean aesthetics and lovely latte art make it the perfect photoworthy latte!
