The lobby is a cute cafe in excelsior (with excelsior prices they have a few pastry and sandwich options along with the coffee menu. I had a chicken panini which was good I would have like it with a salad as a side but they didn't ask me or my two friends about which side and defaulted to chips. I enjoyed my the coffee and sandwich just found the chips a little salty and a salad would have balanced the meal better so don't forget to ask if you go there. There's a shared Bathroom between other businesses could have definitely used some extra cleaning.

I met a friend here for coffee one morning. It is a charming little place. It was busy, but we got served quickly and the staff was all friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the Chai and croissant. Definitely would return. It was somewhat off putting to have all the people on laptops I believe working.

Popped in here while in the area and immediately loved the brick and modern look to the place. It was busy but I can expect that on a Sunday early noon. Staff was efficient and wasn't waiting too long in the line. I didn't notice any restrooms inside however there was much open space and enough seating to accommodate the business. They also have delectable pastries and some wine options. I ordered the hot cinnamon toast latte which I think is really good. Bit of honey vanilla and cinnamon flavor. I would like to come here more and try some more drinks.

If you are looking for a nice modern coffee shop to work in the morning this looks like it might be a great spot. Lots of seating with tables inside and out. A fun location right in downtown Excelsior. I have been here twice now and I remember being a lot more impressed with the drip coffee last time. This time it was pretty standard. My wife's brown sugar latte was not too bad but nothing special. Still worth 4 stars all told. I'm just picky with my coffee!

Stopped in for coffee/matcha on a Sunday afternoon on the way to an event in the area. The line wasn't too long but it stayed consistently busy. There's only one cashier and the menu is displayed a few people back in line so you can decided what you want before approaching. There was a bit of a wait as one customer had a lot going on at the counter. I ordered an iced strawberry rose matcha & it was good! It's part of the seasonal specials. Once I ordered my drink it came out pretty fast. They also have/serve wine. The place is very minimalist decor wise, pretty simple but I like it for hanging out or just needing somewhere to work.

We have been visiting Minnesota for the last two weeks, hear from phoenix. We always are on the hunt for the best Coffee house. We went all up and down the North Shore and then down into Minnetonka Lakes. I have to say this was our favorite one. (We also enjoyed Fika on the North Shore). Not only was the coffee delicious, but it was presented in such a nice way. It elevated the whole experience. The coffee was so nice that we went back in and bought the medium roast Super Nova beans. They were worth waiting in line a second time. We also enjoyed the almond croissant. We were there later in the day, so it wasn't quite as crispy as it probably was first thing in the morning. It was a very nice experience - nice people, clean bathrooms, and great location on the Main Street with cute shops.

Loved this coffee shop! We got a cappuccino and a maple latte that were both delicious. Our service was great and the overall ambiance was very inviting. Highly recommend The Lobby in Excelsior for your next coffee date!

A true Minnetonka vibe inside. It was packed in the morning, but tables opened up pretty frequently. It was a great place to work from, but it is very loud inside. The maple cardamom latte was delicious! There were pastry options for food. Parking out front was busy in winter.

Drip coffee and bar seating area. Lots of seating and the bar is a nice surprise.

Charming ambiance full of lots of natural light, The Lobby offers a full coffee bar, delightful bakery case and wine and beer. A welcome addition to downtown Excelsior, I can see why it's so popular and busy. Plenty of staff help cut down on wait times for drinks, even if they're not the friendliest.

Hippest place for coffee in excelsior! Fun seasonal choices, smooth drip coffee, no pour overs though. Nice atmosphere - historic brick place on water street - limited bakery choices that sell out fast.

This was my second visit to The Lobby and wow, their orange espresso tonic is the bomb! It brings big orange notes without the cloying sweetness of syrups. The space is bright and cozy with lots of exposed brickwork and lots of seating choices. Oh, and they offer Silverbird's roasted coffee by the bag is you want to take some home to brew up.

The iced cappuccino is so incredible. The vanilla cold foam cream topping makes it so amazing. There's usually a line in the morning, but it's worth the wait and they're pretty efficient and getting the drinks out fast. Nice high ceilings and indoor and outdoor tables.

A cool, newer spot in Excelsior in a beautiful space. Plenty of seating options. Coffee and hot chocolate were good, would have liked them to be served hotter. The chocolate chip cookie was delicious as well as the breakfast sandwich. The sandwich had a perfectly cooked egg, crispy bacon, and toasted bun. We look forward to going back on a warmer day to try their fresh squeezed lemonade and other pastries.

Dropped in for a quick shot-o-joe. Nice space, large but not impersonal. Espressos were well executed.

It's a bit out of the way unless you…read moreare out in the extreme west metro but the concept of Sicilian food was a definite attractant. The menu has items on it that are about what you would expect from westernized Italian style eateries. This confused me a bit since the concept is to supposedly display authentic Sicilian food to the diner. Having some experience around Italy, I did not find the menu to really reflect a dominant Sicilian flair. In fact one entire section of the menu was for Neapolitan pizza (Naples is about 400 miles away from Sicily). If you go here expecting typical ingredients from Sicily, you are likely to be disappointed as there were not prominent dishes offering the use of sardines, offals, aubergine, or bottarga. It seemed like a pretty standard menu comparable to most of the Minnesota restaurants serving up Italian based cuisine I have ever been to which is all tasty, but a bit of a let down from what was advertised and expected. The food was good, the service was on par and the setting was casual yet modern. What I think took this down a bit for me was the pricing. It seemed out of line for many of the dishes based on what was served. My best example here was that a Margherita pizza was $28 and "Grandma's Lasagna" (which is all vegetarian and really was layers of shaved vegetables with very little pasta) was also $28 on the dinner menu and was one of the smallest, most compact lasagnas I have ever seen. I elected to add the upcharge for the optional bolognese for $15 because I was hungry. What I got (see picture) was a small portion of lasagna with some sauce in it that contained 2 small, discrete (each about the size of a gnocchi) bites of ground meat within the sauce. If you see the attached image, you will get the idea. So, for almost $50 ($43 to be exact), this was very much not worth it. I'm not sure who's grandma this is named for but she must have been miserly. I probably should have known better since $43 for lasagna just about anywhere seems expensive plus, Sicily is not known for lasagna. But since there really wasn't much in the way of Sicily focused food on the menu and I was hungry, it seemed like a good way to order something that is usually filling and I figured the portion would be large enough for the price. I was wrong on both counts. I get that cost margins on food are small and Excelsior rent is not cheap. It just seemed a little over the top expensive for what I got and the whole Sicily concept was a little bait and switch from what I was expecting. I might go here again if I'm in the area and felt like some pasta but it would not cause me to make a special trip, and I would certainly steer clear of any Grandma related items on the menu.

If you want to come here even relatively close to peak hours, I would highly recommend a reservation. My personal favorites here include the Rotisserie Chicken Sandwich and the Minute Chicken. I've gotten both items multiple times and they are consistently great. Do yourself a favor and get the Dessert Flight; the portions are more than fair for the price and the Banana Cream Pie is to die for. We recently did brunch at Hazelwood for the first time. The Monkey Bread is a generous size with a crispy outside and gooey center - exactly how you would want it to be. The Smoked Gouda Hash browns are worth getting on the side with any item that doesn't already include them; they are so creamy and have a rich cheesy flavor with a nice crispy top layer. Unfortunately, I would not recommend the Avocado Toast. The bacon bits, lettuce, and poached egg completely overwhelm the avocado, which is virtually nonexistent. It's served on a very small and boring piece of wheat toast.
