So glad we chose Lobster Man for our lunch spot while exploring Granville Market. The lobster rolls were really good with fresh chunks of lobster. Next to the restaurant side, you can even order fresh oysters (though you have to shuck it yourself). Definitely recommend this place for a meal if you're in Granville Market and not sure where to eat.

A tasty and fun meal spot on Granville island. It's definitely fresh and the service is fast/efficient. Ny biggest critique is the super hefty price. While I enjoyed my meal, I'm not sure I enjoyed it in tandem with the price. $27 after tax for a single lobster roll served with chips from an industrial bag from Costco is hard to justify in my opinion.

Lobster Man was actually one of the highlights of my Vancouver trip holy shit I love telling my friends about it. In Socal, $22 USD will getchu a half dozen oysters. Over here it's no exaggeration QUADRUPLE that value. For that price, we got a dozen Nitepearls and another dozen of oysters I forgot the name of. Both very delicious and sweet. I had asked the staff if they prepare it on the spot to which they told me they could lend the shucks and some towels. So not only did I get to eat the oysters but even learn how to shuck for the first time. My group took our batch to a nearby table overlooking some boats and had a cheap, interactive picnic right there on the dockside. Such a vibe, if you're a seafood lover this spot is a MUST TRY

This place has 2 sections. One section is more like a fresh fish market where you see a bunch of tanks with fresh oysters and lobsters. There, you can grab a tray and pick out your oysters/clams/lobsters and let them steam it for you to eat. Supposedly, when it's in market, you'll also see fresh Uni there. On the 2nd side is more of a fast food counter service where they have small seafood dishes and some sandwiches. They offer a lobster roll and crab roll. Since, we're from the east coast, we already know about lobster rolls, so we tried the dungenness crab roll. It was meaty and flavorful. We had 1 small shell but that's always expected in these type of rolls. The shrimp/prawn cocktail were nice and meaty (larger than your average shrimp cocktail). Few outdoor tables for seating, but people eat and then move on, so you may be able to find a table if you're patient. Overall solid seafood.

So it's been a few years since I had their Lobster Roll, so I thought I would give it a whirl. The first time, I had the Connecticut style (drenched in butter, with lemon, no mayo). This time I tried their Maine style, with mayo & celery. It was good, albeit a bit too heavy on the mayo for my tastes. The brioche bun was pretty good. The ridged potato chips were crispy (the first time I had it, it was stale). Overall, it was a nice decadent treat. You do get a decent amount of lobster, not super generous, but you don't feel ripped off. With taxes & a small tip, the sandwich came to about $32. I mean, is it the best? No, you can probably make it better at home if you wanted to get the lobster, steam it, crack & pick it, find a decent brioche bun (harder to find than it should be), etc. Which I just don't have the bandwidth for. So in terms of freshness and convenience, it's a nice treat.

Wow lots of fresh seafood. Prices were reasonable and they looked fresh. Oysters were different from the varieties in the states. Only reason why it was 3 instead of 4 stars was that they did not shuck for you. They sold the tool for your to open the Oysters by yourself. Service was quick. Ambiance was like a mini fish market, with fresh lobsters and Oysters. Will come again.when visiting Granville Island.

SIGNATURE LOBSTER ROLL Atlantic lobster | mayo | celery | brioche bun $24.99 CA

Overall: 4 stars Stopped for a weekend getaway and went to Granville Market on a Saturday morning. Beautiful weather - low 70's, sunshine and slight salty breeze. Wife and I checked a few eateries in the Public Market but a nice local suggested the Lobster Man for their roll. I'm so GLAD I took his advice! Ambiance: 4 stars A small eatery with outdoor seating with a few tables. Nothing special. Not a full sit down restaurant which is fine w us. Service: 4 Stars - polite and friendly. there two employees working the counter. Just order the items, pay for it and wait until they call your name (if busy) and grab a seat or look around the area for other public seating. Food: 4.75 Stars - SIGNATURE LOBSTER ROLL Atlantic lobster $24.99 CA I ordered only one lobster roll. Should have ordered two. The roll was a decent size, light, fluffy with a hint of the butter crunch bottom. The roll can hold the large amounts of lobster meat. The lobster itself was devine! Sweet with a hint of salty brine to it. The mayo was little bit too much for my liking but the diced celery had the right balance for the mixture. The meal automatically came with ruffle chips. They were crunch and crispy. Is it a Great Tool to scoop up any lobster that might come off your roll. Believe me, it will happen. LOL! There are other items fresh items you can order but their menu is limited. Definitely recommend the place.

Food: We tried both lobster roll options! The Connecticut roll is cold and mayo based and the Signature roll is warm and drenched in butter. The signature roll is was our favorite and absolutely delish!! Service: Our orders were taken quickly and our food came out just as fast. Ambiance: The only seating is outside. Which is fine for me. I enjoyed eating as people watching.

This place is tucked away in Granville island. I wanted to try a lobster roll while I was in Vancouver and this place didn't disappoint. As an American, I thought prices were reasonable. The lobster tasted really good and fresh. The lobster was a good amount but the bread could've been warmer. I did go about 10 minutes before they were going to close so maybe that was why it was kinda cold. I have no complaints other than that. Just a tip that the last lobster roll order is at 5:30 p.m.

Came here for a lobster roll while visiting Granville Island. This hole in the wall location makes great lobster and shrimp rolls at an incredible price point. I had the traditional and it was delicious. The buttery sweet bun was perfect as it encased the creamy lobster salad. The drink options are limited here but the service is fast. It is tiny inside and seating is extremely limited with only 3 small tables inside. We enjoyed our rolls although we did encounter some a couple of crunchy bites (lobster shells).

Few outdoor seating but people just eat and move on to walk around the island, so if you go during non-peak hours/regular days it shouldn't be too hard to find a spot to eat it Lobster roll was super tender and it was a good portion size with chips! Overall solid seafood for decent price

The Connecticut Warm Lobster roll with butter and the Signature Cold version with chips.

Lobster Lovers Rejoice! If you enjoy a good lobster roll, look no further than Lobster Man inside the Vancouver. Granville Public Market. Tucked away on a side street this self serve venue draws a crowd, just look for the line of smiling faces! We had the Connecticut which is warm lobster with drawn butter on a buttery brioche bun. We also had the Signature which is cold, (my favorite) with lobster, mayo and celery, also on a buttery brioche bun. Unlike some establishments they don't skimp on the lobster, the portion is very generous and overflows the roll. No complaints here! They are served with crinkle cut kettle chips. There is not a lot of seating, but you can roam around the immediate area and sit down by the harbor on the grass or cement wall looking out at the boats and activity in the water. Definitely worth checking out!

Visited the fish market and restaurant and really loved their service and Connecticut roll! The employee at the market was super helpful in explaining the difference between oyster varieties. I picked out 9 oysters and was given a basket, 2 towels, 2 shucking tools, & tobasco sauce. The employee explained that if I wanted lemon, the restaurant sold cut ones for $1. He also gave us shucking tips. While they do not have a lot of seating, when the weather is nice , standing around the area is fine. The Connecticut roll was outstanding!! It was perfectly seasoned, had a good amount of lobster, the roll was toasted but not too thick, and came with chips.

When we ambled in here one Saturday afternoon looking for some tuna, we found it a little difficult to get service. There weren't many customers but our questions were met with short answers. Then when we asked about holiday hours, we were told they were on the door. They were: but on a small piece of paper and tricky to spot. We felt like we'd insulted the clerk by asking her about them. We ended up buying our tuna down at Granville Island. The tuna here looked fresher, though. Yes that's right, Jerked Salmon Jerky. YUM. We ate the entire package in one afternoon. The shrimp comes frozen in a bed of ice and needs some time to thaw. But once it is thawed, it's great quality and wonderful in any seafood dish or simply as part of a shrimp cocktail with seafood sauce. This is how we enjoyed our last batch of shrimp. We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with the Hot Duck chili crisp on it. Upon the bartenders rec we opted for the extra hot, which was a good call because it didn't really pack a punch to us chili heads, but had great flavor. The chicken was juicy and crispy, and the brioche bun was so soft and fluffy. All around a good sandwich, but we found it strange that they only offered it with chips, and no upgrade to fries, which were available as an add on order. As we ate our sandwich and waffle fries we realized there was no smell of oil in the air or sounds of a fryer, which had us scratching our heads. We looked for a hood too and noticed none. Eventually we realized that everything here is commercially air fried, which was both fun to learn and somewhat surprising. If this place had a fryer, it would be SO much better, but considering this limitation, it was solid. The sauce selection was huge too. I loved that you could taste them all and that they offered some amazing deals too. We found a few that warranted us checking a bag on the way back so we could enjoy them on the other side of the border, and I'm stoked they offer online ordering and shipping so we can get some more when they run out. All in all a solid experience. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. As a hot sauce store, this is a 5 star experience, as a restaurant, also good but just have the right expectations.
