Deelish lobster roll and steamers.
Reese W.

Great first stop in Maine for a lobstah roll and some steamahs. Very nice people who We're efficient and helpful. Off the beaten path and seemed kind of a local place. A little expensive. Not a huge lobster fan prior to this as I think it's overpriced, but these rolls were absolutely worth it. Warm, buttery, sweet, tender on a crispy roll. The steamed clams were perfectly done.

Hot buttered lobster roll w/ pickle spear

This is a little gem located right in the heart of Prospect Harbor. I got a hot buttered lobster roll, the first one I've ever had! It was fairly priced, and superbly delicious with a generous helping of fresh, local lobster. The bread was thick and toasted to crispy perfection. It comes with a pickle spear. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the experience was overall great, and I will be back again when I'm in the area. They also have fun gifts and live lobsters for sale in there too.

This is the best place for fresh lobster & a variety of other sea food. It is part of a lobster fishing & processing plant. You buy the live lobster take home or have them steam and take home. Take out only. We are here for a month, and will be back to the Lobstore many times, doc says they are good for the heart. I have had many Maine & Massachusetts (Legal Sea Food Boston) lobster meals. This is by far the best tasting lobster I have ever had, and the price was reasonable. I think they also ship sea food. Staff are great to work with! We'll it's Maine, what would you expect!

(I'm accustomed to seeing $30+ at other establishments.) The lobster stew was nice with perfectly cooked lobster chunks but could've used more seasoning.

Long story: My family ate here twice while vacationing. I got sick afterward both times. First time, I thought it was a fluke but not after the second. Both times, the service was super slow. Like molasses slow. Slow enough to watch grass grow. We ate inside the first time, but it was very warm and just one server to attend everyone. We ate our whole meals without anything to drink because she didn't refill them and kept forgetting when we asked. Second time, we decided to do the takeout counter, thinking it would be faster. It wasn't. They lost our ticket, and 45 minutes later called us up to the counter to inform us they'd just found it and would start making our order. We ended up waiting over an hour for a takeout order. They didn't put the chips in with the haddock sandwiches. When my husband pointed out the menu says the sandwiches came with chips, they actually argued with him until he showed them the menu. Then the gal very slowly put some chips (think Ruffles) in a small container acting very irritated about it like it was coming out of her paycheck. Later, my husband marvelled that she could actually move that slow and act so disgusted about giving us the chips we'd paid for especially after waiting so long. They didn't even offer an apology. If I lived there, I'd never go back. End of story: go here only if you want to risk getting sick and you have time to grow old waiting for your dinner. We ate at Ironbound the night before and received excellent service and food.

It's last week of August and this is the best deal you can get for live lobster on Mt Desert…read moreIsland. It's a lobster pier, not a restaurant so be sure you have a place to cook it at home. $6.50/lb for hardshell under 2lbs and $7/lb for hardshell 2lbs+. Jeffrey Rich is a 4th generation lobsterman and the great great grandson of founder Charles Henry "Charlie" Rich. Maurice Sr (pronounced Morris) inherited the business from Charlie and his son Maurice (Mo Jr, may he rest in peace) inherited from him. Stop by, say hello to Jeffrey and buy some of the best lobster you'll ever eat for a fraction of the price other lobster piers are offering in the area. They ship to you too so call them and place an order if you're not nearby. It's off the beaten path, but you'll pass some gorgeous scenery on beautiful winding Seawall Rd on your way there. You can try stacking rocks on the beach you'll passby, but don't take any because you'll get fined or arrested by a park ranger. Thanks C.H. Rich for the yummy grub.

FRESH Lobsters and GREAT prices!…read more We were lookin' for soft shell Lobsters or what the locals call 'shedders'. We'd just heard a great recipe, on Maine public radio, for grillin' these babies. So we were on a mission and this was THE perfect place to get some fresh yummy shellfish!! C.H. Rich is nothin' much to look at, but you're not there for the ambiance! So, don't be deterred by the run-down feel of the place. It's a working fishing warehouse with huge lobster tanks in the back. A true Maine experience ;o).
