I assumed all lobster pounds were the same until.... We have been in Maine a few weeks now and my wife and our friend have had their share of lobster rolls but this one is in a different class. Big chunks of lobster mixed with just enough mayo to give it some flavor. Service is counter but fast and efficient . You can eat inside but the back area is what it's about. From an amazing setting in the trees to the almost perfect play list of music, to the staff's constantly cleaning up the area .. just way above normal. Oh.. and I don't eat Maine lobster.... The fish tacos were probably the best I have had. Great place and worth the wait or just go early and enjoy a smaller crowd for linner !

In all the places we have travelled, this is probably one of my favorites. The whole place is a vibe. Love it. You can play corn hole, frisbee golf, buy a t shirt, get ice cream from the boat and eat your lobster "in the woods". The food is fantastic...the lobster roll, the fish tacos, lobster dip. This place is so good, we're going again. We don't generally go to the same place twice on vacation, but when it's this good, you go again. Nothing in "downtown" Bar Harbor touches this place. Eat here. Oh yea and the servers were awesome too.

It was a bit rainy but we stopped in on Fathers Day. i ordered a lobster roll and my wife got the lobster bisque in a bread bowl and both were delicious. The atmosphere was really nice with the hanging lights out back, the propane patio heaters and the ice cream boat. Service was quick.

So good!! This was our first stop for a lobster roll and it did not disappoint. Such a cute outdoor dining space with plenty of seating and heaters. You order your food outside and dine in. We had the classic lobster roll and split a warm blueberry pie with a scoop of vanilla which was excellent. We loved it so much we came back twice during our visit.

Lobster nachos are divine, super atmospheric outdoor seating, good strong drinks, games, and employees are totally lovely through every rush

Great vibes & great food. We were feeling the adventurous spirit of Acadia NP & got the house special .. WOW. Not to forget the fries were perfectly crispy. Topped it off with a local brew & their blueberry vodka lemonade . Could definitely see this place liven up at night! They have a bar outback to service the picnic tables, cornhole, disc golf, music was bumping -- just a good time. The staff was kind enough to come out and wipe the tables for us as it just finished raining when we arrived. Will be stopping back next time we are in town!!

We were coming into the area and of course we were going to have lobster! On our way to the hotel we passed this place. It looked super cool and ended up being very close. So I decided that was where we were going. My wife was tired so I came and order to go. Everyone was very nice, it sure didn't take long for our order to be ready. I bought some cans of local beer at the gift shop and went to the boat/ice cream shack for dessert. We got the lobster bisque and a hot lobster roll. Blueberry pie with blueberry ice cream for dessert! Everything was great! Some of if not the best lobster bisque ever! Huge chunks of lobster. The roll was great too! By far the best lobster roll value of the whole trip! $30 for 6 oz, the roll and chips! An amazing restaurant with a small indoor setting but a huge cool outdoor space. I recommend this if you are in Bar Harbor area!

This was a cute place right off the side of the road. It is a lovely locale on a warm day but if it were raining or cold would not be recommended. We had the lobster tacos and whole belly fried clams. The food was delicious and the service was very fast. I also had blueberry ice cream from the ice cream boat and it was refreshing - very yummy! I would recommend!

This was my first meal of my trip to Bar Harbor and by far the best one I had! We got a half serving of their lobster nachos and I would highly recommend them. There's an incredibly generous amount of finely chopped vegetables sprinkled all over the top which adds so much freshness and brightness to the rich and creamy lobster bits and the cheesy/lobster bisque sauce. The portion sizes are massive so this half serving was more than enough of an appetizer for 4 people. I tried their cold lobster roll and it was a classic Maine-style roll with a very generous amount of lobster spilling out of it. My friends all got the house special lobster roll and were obsessed, so I would probably opt for that if you want to try something a little more unique to this place. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. There's a ton of seating out back and it has a cute backyard feel to it with all the string lights and little games. They'll bring your food out to you and the staff is all so nice. They also serve desserts, but we were far too stuffed to try any of them, but they looked delicious.

Came here for a dinner on Saturday, straight from the airport. And we were so happy we stopped. Food was absolutely amazing. I got lobster roll and my husband got haddock sandwich. We loved every bite of it. Portions were large and delicious. You order food upfront and they bring it to you, indoors or outdoors, depending where you want to seat. It's a very chill place with ice cream outside, music and games. Definitely a fun place to go to.

Most definitely the best lobster roll I've ever had. Bar Harbor Lobster Pound is located right off the road and the parking lot gets quite full, so you may have to circle around if it's a weekend. You order at the front, and they'll give you a number for them to bring your order to. There's a lot of outdoor seating in the back (picnic tables) with games, lights, and heaters as well. We ordered a half serving of the lobster nachos to split between 4 people and everyone got their own lobster roll. The half serving was a good amount, the whole serving is massive and we wouldn't have finished it on top of everything else. The mango salsa was light and was a nice balance against the lobster bisque infused cheese. You should eat the chips quickly though because they don't stay crunchy for long. For my own order, I got the house special lobster that I loved. The bun was soft, they're generous with the lobster amount, and there's a lot of sauce. The chips are solid and it's a really filling meal. Lastly, I ordered the blueberry lemonade which is definitely worth the try when you're there. It's refreshing and the blueberry flavor sweetens it up.

We stopped by this summer before the season ended and we were super pleased. We chose a picnic table and our lobsters were brought out to us. It was a rustic outdoor locale which was exactly what we were looking for. Friendly staff!

This was a great place for lobster and just good vibes. Lots of outdoor seating and plenty of food options to choose from - can't go wrong. Seafood is very fresh. Have to save room for their blueberry pie a la mode with blueberry ice cream as well!

Planning a trip in May. Are all the restaurants open in May? Is lobster plentiful in May? Should we maybe change our dates?

Hi Shelly! There are plenty of hard shell lobsters in May but most restaurants do not open until Memorial Day weekend. If you want lots of options, I would wait until memorial day weekend to travel to bar harbor, at the earliest.

We did get food to go, but our hotel was just steps away. So not a long journey from the restaurant to our room. We ordered the lobster nachos. It was not edible and they were so expensive. I was looking forward to getting some lobster, but didn't want a lobster roll and thought this would do it. First of all-- everything was mush. Not even soggy, but like all mush and disintegrated. I can deal with soggy-- it's take out so I don't have high expectations for fresh food. But the chips literally dissolved. There was also no cheese? I don't understand how you can have nachos with no cheese. Also, was advertised with sour cream and there was no sour cream. Lastly, I had lobster earlier today at a different restaurant. It tasted so fresh. This lobster was different. Almost like it was bad or even like a little gamey. I didn't eat but that one piece because I'm afraid I might get food poisoning-- something was just off. I'm not very hard to please and will eat pretty much anything from anywhere. The fact that I wouldn't eat the food (especially after paying $32) says a lot. I literally told my husband I would've rather had McDonald's Giving 2 stars only bc the guy on the phone who took our order was super nice.

We were originally only going to order some small plates , but the one entree with fried chicken looked like something my husband would really like. Cocktails were great. Our server Eli was very friendly and helpful , he answered my questions. The lobster bisque was delicious, and I liked that it had a tempura lobster garnish and the caviar in it was a nice touch too. The tempura wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it , I think only the end part was, but still very good soup. We also got some oysters which were great with the sauces on the side. I ended up getting the halibut, which I never get at a restaurant- but it was so good! With the wakame butter, bok choy, pork belly, and sticky rice. All the flavors worked so well together! Husband got the Cantonese chicken- which was delicious as well. Very crispy, flavorful. We were so stuffed afterwards otherwise we would have got dessert. We ended up taking some Togo even though we had to drive for hours the next day. We put it in a cooler and ate some for lunch cold and it was still good. We had a great meal- i definitely recommended it.

Our waiter made our experience less than stellar - his timing for serving was off ...he brought one cocktail along with the lobster bisque- to the same person . The bread service for 12 dollars was ridiculously pricey and there were 4 pieces of bread which made us get 2 orders - pretty sad since entrees were $48 - and bisque was $22...other costs were added on?
