    Blueberry pie
    Victoria J.

Picked up 4 lobsters and 2lbs of clams for ~$56, went back the next day to grab the blueberry pie. Very fresh and flavorful for what might be the best prices in Bar Harbor. Takeout only and uncooked, this should be your go-to place if you can cook at home! The blueberry pie was $25 and the best of 3 we tried in Bar Harbor, chock full of berries, perfect balance of sweetness, and not cut with too much flour (gives a pasty flavor). The crust is a bit thick but serves to contain the liquid! Family-owned, everyone we met at the counter was incredibly friendly and happy to chat and help.

Super friendly guy working the counter! We had never cooled lobster before and didn't really know what we needed -- we got it all the ingredients from here including a pot they let us borrow for the night! Nick helped us pick out the right amount of lobster and wow was it so tasty! Really great prices for getting 6 lobster! Definitely come here if you're looking to cook some seafood at home! Bonus thing: very cute doggos that hangout there!

Off the beaten tourist path and open year round, PP lives up to the reviews and hype. We made a mistake our first night in Bar Harbor going to a tourist trap and getting a rubbery lobster roll and sad chowder. I did a bit of research online and found Peekytoe and was SO glad for it. While you don't get a water view, but a cute walk down the main drag, it is WELL worth the excursion AND HOW. My husband said his Crabby Patty was the best crab cake sandwich he ever had. I agreed in as I had the cake as an app. I also got a Halibut dish with pickled fiddleheads (a local green I might liken to okra for lack of other reference) and blistered tomatoes. It was moist, well cooked fish, amazing sides with phenomenal heightening elements. We also enjoyed our cocktails immensely. GO if you are a foodie and don't want a lame wannabe roll with some kids grilled cheese sides, DO this spot. SO well worth it. PS to manament - I know you do a brunch. MAKE SURE YOU DO A CRABCAKE BENEDICT. Your crab cakes are divine and with a slight seared crunch. Ideal. You can even do a lemon-fiddlehead or blistered tomato HOLLANDAISE. I'd be IN IN as I am sure most people would. The vinegary elements from the fiddleheads to (I think) my husband's pickled onion atop his crabby patty MADE the CRABCAKES THE STAR.

When asked for the WiFi password at the beginning of the meal, she said "I'll ask" and never got back to us until the end of the meal, when we had to remind her. When taking our orders, she specifically asked if we wanted cold butter or warm butter on our lobster. While my friends wanted cold butter, they got warm. Food was subpar. While the price for lobster here is cheaper than most places, my lobster ended up being very rubbery. Partner ordered a pineapple ginger juice, and it was VERY heavy on the ginger and tasted "off", like drinking kimchi. I didn't care for the sweet potato mash, it did not go with the dish (lobster) at all, but the cucumbers were ok. Portions were uneven. My friends got the same lobster as I did, and yet they got significantly less lobster. Finally, while I know this wasn't a restaurant problem, I feel as they failed to act accordingly. One of my friends went to go to the restroom, and saw a man laying down on the floor. Staff were notified, but the staff seemingly did nothing; we asked the staff for an update and they just shrugged us off (because we were concerned for that man). If you're wanting to try lobster for the first time, DONT come here - spend a little bit extra on more reputable places, because this place was not it.

Now if you are in search of seafood and/or lobster during a visit to Bar Harbor you could throw a stone in any direction and find numerous options. Some family recommended checking out this spot. Both my wife and I started out with a blueberry margarita that was fantastic. Then for food we both decided on the lobster tacos which comes with an order of two. They did not skimp on the lobster at all and this spot created such a tasty taco I would return for them. Granted the appetizer of a lobster poutine sounded delicious too! The ambiance and overall vibes is good, outside they have many picnic tables to enjoy the sights/sounds of Bar Harbor. Inside they have a couple different areas but a welcoming atmosphere overall. Despite the heat and the fact Bar Harbor is busy during the summer, service was quick as well as friendly. Had no complaints for our visit! Great first visit here!

We did get food to go, but our hotel was just steps away. So not a long journey from the restaurant to our room. We ordered the lobster nachos. It was not edible and they were so expensive. I was looking forward to getting some lobster, but didn't want a lobster roll and thought this would do it. First of all-- everything was mush. Not even soggy, but like all mush and disintegrated. I can deal with soggy-- it's take out so I don't have high expectations for fresh food. But the chips literally dissolved. There was also no cheese? I don't understand how you can have nachos with no cheese. Also, was advertised with sour cream and there was no sour cream. Lastly, I had lobster earlier today at a different restaurant. It tasted so fresh. This lobster was different. Almost like it was bad or even like a little gamey. I didn't eat but that one piece because I'm afraid I might get food poisoning-- something was just off. I'm not very hard to please and will eat pretty much anything from anywhere. The fact that I wouldn't eat the food (especially after paying $32) says a lot. I literally told my husband I would've rather had McDonald's Giving 2 stars only bc the guy on the phone who took our order was super nice.

It was a motivating factor to visit the establishment, enjoy a lovely meal in a lovely town, and tip heavily. You claim to be a culinary source of authority. I think it's great that you own a Subway franchise in New York City, but I might hesitate from throwing around the word 'chef' too haughtily. I mean just because one wears a cowboy hat does not mean one owns cattle, am I right? Perhaps there were dishes on the menu that one could argue were overengineered, but they tasted great! And consider that you have no idea where in the culinary journey their chef is, nor what the market needs or will bear in Bar Harbor. The place was packed. Service was great. Food was divine! On a Tuesday night. Maybe next time you visit a restaurant, leave your Michelin yardstick in the trunk of your broomstick, and simply relax. Or possibly return to Bar Harbor Bicycle Shop, another establishment you experienced through your Vantablack-colored glasses and blew up on this site. I'm sure they would zealously rent you another bike if you promised to venture into Acadia and get lost. Cheers!

As always not enough meat if you're only eating lobster. Corn was tasty. I have mine to my husband, he was still hungry. The clam chowder was ok. I feel like it had been sitting in the pot for a day or so. Really thick and kind of concealed. Not the rich-creamy flavor I was hoping for. Kind of bland. Needed to add hot sauce. I tried a couple bites of the Blueberry pie. Very thick pie filling. Sweet and tasty. Felt like the crust was store bought. Not really flaky or buttery. Overall, good lobster. Touristy. The kids mac and cheese was penne with what tasted like Velveeta and nacho cheese? It was absolutely disgusting. After sending back the inedible haddock with overcooked green beans, I asked for spinach salad with no blue cheese. Of course they added blue cheese. I had to send that back too. The icing on the cake was as someone was originally bringing out our meals, they tripped and dropped half of an order of potato chips on the ground. No apology and no effort to bring out more. We had to ask if we could have more chips since it mostly ended up on the ground 10 feet away. Also concerning no one bothered to pick it up. Great outdoor atmosphere, kid friendly, sit and relax under and massive shade canopy, away form the road, includes outdoor service.. (not just another roadside "lobsta" shop with a folding table on the edge of a parking lot) . OK- good vibe on property and location, I don' at all mind a walk-up window to order....saves money, time and you know exactly how many orders are in front of you. All good, but how is the food ? Family of 4 - We ordered a bit of everything for sharing....Lobster dinner to start...super fresh, large 2 + pounder bathed in hot butter.....add a side of lobster nachos....OMG, good call. Not a fan of corn on the cob, but the kids loved it. I am happy. Next .I ordered a straight up lobster roll - hot, butter only, No skimp on the lobster (see picture) with a added side of coleslaw which was a pleasant surprise....made fresh daily with owners secret recipe (he would not share BTW). ), I added garlic aioli sauce to everything because this place understands all food is enhanced with either hot butter or home-made aioli sauce....(never mayo) My kids binge ate french fri's which have a light coating, crispy and hot while they each ate lobster tacos...What the heck ? A Taco in Maine ? Delicious....all the way. Again no skimping on the lobster meat. Then came the real test.....a virtual dark horse (no they do not serve "horse") .The Ice Cream Boat (which also has a stern full of fresh blueberry pie). All locally made, fresh and large portions. I left 5 pounds heavier, asked my wife to drive so I could nap in the back of the rental car. Thanks to owners for a great food experience that represents Maine !
