Halifax's only source for Yamaha pianos and service! (Learned this after hours of trekking around…read morethe city) I came here in pursuit of a replacement pedal for my Yamaha C5, (which was damaged when I moved back to Halifax- still on the mover's case for that one!). Anyhoo, Dr. Piano did not have the part in stock, which is to be expected, since most piano stores don't have the exact pieces directly in store. What was unexpected was how quick the staff was to call up the manufacturer and have the piece delivered- didn't take long at all Then when the part did arrive, they sent a techie to come and install the part properly. The sound is perfect, just like before my piano got damaged. Very satisfied with the quality of service here- this piano store struck a perfect note with me!

Shelley and the crew from Gentle Giant Movers did a phenomenal job on my daughter's local move in…read moreHalifax. Over the phone and by email, Shelley handled all of my long-distance requests (I was in the States and my daughter is in Halifax) with patience, and always in a timely manner. She accommodated our need for overnight storage, and worked with our timing to get out of one place and into another. The day of the move, which happened during the NS wildfires, the company's timing got a little derailed, through no fault of their own. When that impacted my daughter's move, they proactively waived some fees as compensation, and worked with her to make sure that they could still get the move done in time. Shelley sent over an extra mover, and when we suggested doing the move right into the new place, without the overnight hold (we were able to get her into the new place earlier than expected!), Shelley rolled with the punches, and pivoted to execute the move in one day. The extra mover (which we were not charged for) and the whole crew worked quickly but carefully, and got the move done in record time. Overall, it was tremendous value for what we got, and the move was done faster than we expected! Being far away was stressful for me, but Shelley made sure that everything ran smoothly and that my daughter was taken care of. I would highly recommend Gentle Giant for your local move.
