OMG, we just ordered the avacado toast on rosemary bread and the french toast! The toast with Avacado, tomato, pickled onions on rosemary bread was the most mouth watering, flavor filled breakfast. After driving all morning across Maine and seeing nothing but Dunkin Donuts, we were pleased to come across this hidden gem. My "I need coffee" meter was off the chart so this place was a sanity saver. I got a refreshing iced coffee and homemade French toast. My husband got the regular breakfast with eggs and toast and potatoes. We may have bought some homemade cookies for the road as well. Let's keep that between us. Such a quaint building in a lovely part of the state. The people were very friendly. They had other baked goods and local faire. I recommend it to anyone passing that way. Breakfast sandwich deluxe on rosemary bread was really good! I've never had a blend of these ingredients together but it was so good that it returned the next morning while in town. The pesto, goat cheese, roasted garlic, egg with fresh spinach and tomato on lightly grilled rosemary bread was such an unexpected delicious combo!! The sandwich was good both days but they were inconsistent. The 2nd day the sandwich was much smaller and one piece of bread was smaller than its there half. Also the first day the roast garlic was more of a spread and 2nd day was whole roasted garlic and was missing goat cheese. Cranberry scone was light and moist but could have used some butter or jam on the side. Everything bagel with herb cream cheese was tasty but the cream cheese kept sliding out because the bagel was hot from being toasted. Despite the little inconsistencies, this place still served tasty and fresh breakfast options. The deluxe sandwich is something I would definitely get again. read more

This place seems to be going down hill since I first stopped here. I keep stopping in for bread and what they have for sale is always hard . Today a senior woman was working the cash register . She was too busy talking to a customer about their 1978 graduation year she could not concentrate on my order which was a smoothie. A strawberry mojito one. I mentioned a nut allergy to make sure they didn't use almond milk ect. She can back it was not strawberry, I asked if that was the strawberry mojito ? She said does it have açaí berries. ? I said no . She called for a girl out back and she says I think I made a mistake then she asked me if I'd take it anyway ?! Well no ! It probable has the nut milk in it !! Anyways I purchased three chocolate crackle cookies for a friend , they said they didn't taste good at all. Also purchased a raspberry cheese cake slice and it had a very strange texture! No label so I'm not sure if they made it or just bought it . All food items being sold should have ingredient labels and allergens listed . Stopped by as we were passing through on a road trip and were pleasantly surprised by the amazing homemade bread. I had the most delicious meatloaf sandwich I've ever had and my husband loved his everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese. They had a small grocery and tons of scratch made baked goods. Since I'm staying close by this has been my go-to for quick meals. From ready made heat and eat dinners to the menu items, I have never been disappointed. I had the falafel salad today and it was probably one of the freshest and best salads I have ever had from an eatery. The rosemary bread is to die for and the veggie burrito was amazing. Leaving Sunday River, on a Sunday morning, we stopped here for a bite to eat on the way back to Portland. We had about 10 or 15 minutes to get a couple breakfast sandwiches and head out the door. I ordered a hummus sandwich and my partner ordered an egg on an English muffin. There were maybe two or three people in front of us that had ordered to sit down and eat their food there. The girl behind the counter said it it might be a little bit of a wait because of the folks in front of us. I guess in my brain I thought a little bit of a wait was maybe 10 or 15 minutes for a couple of, essentially, no cook sandwiches. I know an egg might take a minute or two on a griddle. We had also stopped here before one other time and gotten something to go. I knew the food would be tasty, so as we waited, we browsed through the little store section. I was excited to find some Sam Smith Raspberry beer, which I bought (all) 3 bottles of. We continued to browse. Five minutes passed, then 10, and 20, then 25. At around 30 minutes my partner went and asked if our food was almost ready. The girl at the counter said they had not even started it yet and that ours was the next order to be prepared. At this point we were running late for an appointment back in Portland. We told her that we would like to cancel our order, at which point, she said, she told us it would be a bit of a wait. I asked for her to refund my card and she said she couldn't and gave me cash instead. I have worked in many restaurants and I know that to-go orders always get bumped ahead of in-house orders. Those folks are waiting for their meals and seated comfortably. To-go orders ALWAYS COME FIRST. This is restaurant 101, especially at a little side of the road stop on the way to a major ski resort, with many options along the way. I don't travel this way very often, because of this experience I probably wouldn't stop here for more than the beer cooler. I hope this review helps anyone in a hurry, to call ahead. read more

Great little stop. It's a store and a bar and a counter style restaurant. They have sandwiches, pizza and breakfast. Everything we had was great. French toast, pizza and eggs were all very yummy. Staff was friendly. Seating is limited. They only have a couple tables, but there is also a couch. They also have some board games available. read more

Stopped in twice now while looking at Bethel properties for sale. This place is a gem! They have lots of healthy grocery options, including local and gluten free stuff. A variety of beverages too. Their menu is chock full of tasty combinations. I am hear to say the BBQ Mushroom burger was out of this world! I said "wow!" with every bite. The homemade bun it came on was a perfect texture. The BBQ sauce was not your store bought kinda BBQ sauce - it's def homemade too! I cannot wait to build here so this becomes our "local hub". I want that burger again! The first time we stopped in, I got the breakfast sandwich with the pesto, spinach, tomato combo on some rosemary bread. Again, amazing flavor!! Food takes some time so don't expect fast food if you want home-cooked hospitality and taste!! It's so worth the wait! On one hand, I'm glad to see a business revitalizing old Bob's corner store with fresh ideas and new services. However, their hours (and prices on many products) make it it difficult to "love" The Local Hub. Specifically, they close WELL before the end of the work day, and seem to be open and stocked only during peak tourism/vacation hours. Prices on several products are extremely high ($5.00 for a tiny piece of quiche, really?). These things together give the impression this business is here to cater to folks passing through to go skiing, rather than to serve the local community -- something that is badly needed in Greenwood, I may add. read more

I grabbed a few other local/Maine things while I was there: Maple Milk (awesome) and a bag of coffee beans for when I get home.
