We visited twice while up for a week on vacation. The Bagels were phenomenal. Sourdough with that crusty outside with the soft inside. The flavors were all great, and we ended up buying a dozen. We also got breakfast sandwiches the first visit, and they were top notch. The coffee? I love a good Mocha, and this spot pushed my former undefeated favorite out of its top spot. Really great blend of flavors, working together not overpowering each other. The inside is cute, with standard tables and chairs, with some more comfortable cushioned chairs. They had a corner with kids books, that my son absolutely loved and kept having us read to him. The staff were all very friendly, even though they were clearly busy. We went early, around 8/8:30 and had a short line. We drove past them later at 9:30ish and line was out the door. Go early! read more

The homemade bagels were fantastic. Crispy, chewy, fresh. 10/10 - no notes. GET A BAGEL! The bitro cold brew was rich and chocolatey and thick - so good! The ham and cheese croissant lacked the laminated layers we expect from quality croissants - and was almost overcooked. This one was a miss. The savory tarte was OK but lacked depth of flavor. Some herbs and acid would have helped offset the salty cheese. Overall a quality spot we'd definitely return to if again in the area. read more

I can see why this place has a 4.8 star rating. Great lunch place in Bethel, Maine. I had their Pastrami on Rye which is excellent! That bread was fantastic. It added more flair and flavor to an already good sandwich. They have other really good sandwiches along with a nice display of freshly baked goods. Having a condo down the street, we love coming in for lattes. Always amazing. I will say my 1 big complaint is you have so many things with Almonds. I stopped in on my way home from Vermont based on the reviews and had a bagel with cream cheese and lox. The breakfast bagel was great. I then got a text that it was game night and that I would be bringing dessert. Dessert options were in a separate case. I ordered four cupcakes and three bread pudding and brought them to game night. While the desserts were pretty, No one ate more than one bite. They were not sweet, and everyone remarked how disappointing they were. I sent them an email the following day letting them know that I my crew was disappointed, and threw four of them away and three only had one bite. I waited and no response. So the review is a combination of a good bagel, bad dessert, and no response from the bakers I should've remembered the rule that you always try one before you buy more But my suggestion is enjoy the great pastry and bread and skip the dessert. read more

Made a substitution on the ham breakfast sandwich and used an everything bagel vice a baguette. It was a smart move and a schemer of cream cheese enhanced. The food is outstanding. We went on a Sunday morning, got there around 9am, and by 9:05, the line was out the door and across the parking lot .The line moves fast so don't fret! To drink, I got a chai latte. It was a sweeter chai tea that was really tasty and had a nice layer of milk foam. I love that they used locally made mugs for the drinks (which you can also buy). Absolutely the best danishes I've ever had in my life after traveling the world. Every item we tried on the menu is delicious and they even have gluten free! Espresso was great and their cups are made from a local potter and adorable! Manager is amazing; popping out her head when the cashier doesn't have the answer but in a polite way. That is how you run a successful business, not being aloof and popping in when needed. Everyone was very warm and kind. The vibe is perfect, always a parking spot or table outside despite how busy they are. We always get lucky! My waistline would be in trouble if I lived here but it will be forever missed when we leave! My family has a vacation home in Greenwood, and we frequent this bakery. Everything is fresh, delicious and made to order. They rotate their bread thursday - monday, with different options like olive and honey wheat. They have pastries, sourdough bagels, brownies, any drink you can work up, and more. Have been there a few times for their bagels...always when we are up in the North Conway/Bethel/Gorham area. They have the best, chewiest bagels and I love them! They toast up really well and go perfect with a little cream cheese, or butter if you prefer. The place is small, but cozy, and they have a variety of other items. I wish my gluten-free husband could eat there, however, they do not offer any GF options so I only order to take home. Service is spot on, even where there is a line out the door. Stopped in for coffee and some snacks. While it's a small space, the place was mobbed and the line was to the door. The folks were very nice and helpful. The coffee was good and hot. Love that they had water glasses right at the counter. There were no tables, so we sat outside on the patio (a little cold but glad to have a seat). The New Yorker (Lox, tomatoes, capers, cream cheese, onion) was a very nice sandwich. They only had Gluten Free rolls left, but it was still a great sandwich. I had the pizza bread with lettuce, tomato and bacon with a great dressing. It was outstanding. We also got an eclair, and the cherry almond pastry. I was told they were both excellent, with the cherry almond pastry being "the best pastry I have ever had." I can't confirm this, because by the time I got back, it was all gone! We came on New Year's Eve morning for breakfast and we found ourselves standing in a line that went out the door The line moved relatively quickly, however, and we were able to snag a table right as someone else was leaving. We ordered: - two cappuccinos: delicious but wish they were even hotter. - carrot and feta scone: TASTY! I am a scone snob and I loved it. Perfect crumbly texture but not dry. Crusty corners. The carrot gave some sweetness and the feta gave some saltiness - salt bagels with smoked jalapeño cream cheese: TASTY! the bagels are delightfully crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. wish they were even fatter and with even more salt! the cream cheese had a pleasant spice level - there, but not too much. - soup: YUM! i forget what kind it was but it came with a dollop of yogurt and some zaatar sauce on top. very fresh and delicious. The staff: friendly and attentive. There were about 8 people working there as fast as they could. The owner/manager consistently circulated through the tables. He asked us how our food was and later offered to clear some plates away. The atmosphere: open, beautiful, homey. It used to be a bank I believe because there is a huge open vault door behind the coffee counter. High ceilings, white walls, and an open kitchen make it feel spacious. There is a little corner with a tiny couch and two soft chairs behind a coffee table. The rest of the seating is 2-top or 4-top wooden tables with farmhouse-style mismatched chairs. One thing I will say is that there are so many chairs that it's difficult just to slip between tables to get your coffee when it's ready. If I had a stroller in there I would have been stressed. It was also extremely busy which exacerbated the tight seating arrangement. There are some bistro tables outside, but it's not the season for that yet. Another note - they serve their for-here orders in/on beautiful handmade ceramics. It added a cozy touch! TL;DR Delicious, fresh, friendly, and beautiful. I've been to a lot of bakery's in my life and my trip to bethel I could not find anything breakfast lunch or dinner that came even close to the spectacular food and staff here. Every morning we started our day here, and got breakfast and sandwiches to go. It was FLAWLESS. Do yourself a favor and snag a blueberry hand pie with your coffee and a hand and cheese to go.
