We went for a fall ride and stumbled upon a farm that had a tent with "The Local Meatball" we decided to give it a shot. The meatballs were very good but what we saw was off putting. We were going to get a grinder but the guy making the grinders was the same person taking the money. He had on his sanitation gloves but never took them off to collect the money. My question is, Why wear the gloves if your taking cash with them on? We order the meatballs because he used a spoon to serve them. As for the grinder, he would put the meatballs into the grinder roll and pick up a grinder with his hands covered with the gloves that he was taking cash with "YUCK" Sanitation is key that's why I gave it two stars. read more

Just had an order of 4 meatballs and they were great. We happened across this truck at a local art show for the Fairifeld schools. They were serving the chicken Parmesan meatballs the classic meatballs and the honey BBQ meatballs. I ordered all of them to make sure I covered all the bases. Let me just say yummy! The balls were moist, tender and cooked perfectly. I'll list them based on my ranking. The chicken ones were covered in a light red sauce and some shredded Parmesan. I liked the flavors, they were spiced perfectly. The classic were as named. Classic. A great meatball with some nice red sauce. The BBQ ones were sweet and tangy. They served them in a bowl or with a roll as a sandwich. I could definitely see having these guys at my house if I were having a big enough gathering. read more

I have to say when I first saw this Food Truck I could not believe that there was an entire truck dedicated to meatballs. Boy, was it worth the skepticism. These meatballs are serious. I can't stop raving about how good these meatball subs are! My whole life I didn't eat meatballs I just didn't like them but aplareantly I was just eating the wrong ones because I absolutely LOVE these! I first tried them at a bridal show they were giving out samples and I was starving so I gave it a try. I'm so glad I did because now I call myself a meatball lover and I almost stalk the truck locations to get a sub (or two!) whenever I can. My favorite is the chickn lickn,but all the types I have tried are always delicious, and the bread is always fresh and perfect for a meatball sub and sauce. My husband and I were one of the first customers to try The Local Meatball on their opening day- 4/20, near the Fairfield Train Station. I had the "Serious" meatball in a "smashed slider" and my husband had a grinder with 3 "Kick in da" meatballs. The "Kick in da" meatballs were a little spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. The "Serious" meatball was delicious. Not too heavy, but nicely flavored. We felt the balls could have had a little more salt, but that's a matter of personal taste and would, in no way, keep us from making MANY return visits!! The crusty bread was great and The Local Meatball's sauce is chunky and rich- a great compliment to both "balls." I would say it's a pretty good value- my slider was $2.50 and my hub's grinder was $7.50. So $10 for both- didn't hurt the wallet, but filled the tummy. Owner Mike Distassio is a great guy- his meatballs are great and we wish him all the best of luck. We will definitely be heading back to The Local Meatball. read more

These guys are set up at Silverman's along with a wood oven pizza place. Don't get me wrong I love pizza, but the line for pizza was crazy long. Grabbed some of their amazing meatballs while at Two Roads Brewery! Tried all three varieties they offered (sorry don't remember exact flavors)....beef, chicken, and pork! They were Amaze-balls! Soooo flavorful and tender! I got them off the bun which i feel gave me a chance to enjoy them without the extra calories, but the guy next to me ordered the roll which looked delicious as well! After some research to find a unique way to cater my wife's 40th b-day party, I came across the Local Meatball. I reached out to Mike and he made it super easy. Not only were the meatballs outstanding, but Mike took great care to make sure we had an awesome event! We had the tradtional and the "kick in da" meatballs, with slider rolls, grinders, and pasta. All of it was great, and thankfully we had some left-overs. So we were able to enjoy it for a few days after the party. Other great details were a t-shirt for the birthday girl, and a chalkboard with the menu items and her name written on it. Lastly, back to the uniquness of it, everyone at the party mentioned it was a fun way to cater a party. It certainly left an impression, thank you to Mike for making it so. P.s. My husband and I eloped back in April and had a party in June to celebrate. We reached out to many food trucks and my husband stumbled upon The Local Meatball. We aren't from Fairfield County so we had never seen this food truck. Mike was BY FAR the most responsive, friendly and just plain amazing vendor to work with. He responded within minutes of an email or phone call. Now to talk about the meatballs. Delicious is an understatement. Everyone is still talking about how good they were and our party was months ago. My favorite was the Chicken Parm and my husbands was Buffalo Chicken. Lucky for us we had plenty of leftovers!!
