We stayed here 3 nights for a retreat... Id say it was okay... it was expensive though. The lodge is nice but secluded you have to drive to get to anything. and the ocean is a ways out. There was wildlife seen thorughout stay. logs for fire were complementary but even service for room was a $5 charge... weird and crazy with over $400 per night. The rooms are spread throughout multuple buildings... kindsa motel style. Lobby was invitiing but small. had drinks at the restaurant and dinner at the back room area with my group. We avoided the pool as there were groups of kids screaming at top of lungs most of our stay... so we also avoided the spa. No cell service at this location but they have wifi -- overall -- it was okay - I cant say I would go back on my own as for that price id stay somewhere with more amenities. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights during July 4th weekend. I've last visited Bodega Bay some 25 years ago for a Company Team Building event, and it may have been at this hotel given the venue, though my memory is fuzzy. The Lodge is a bit secluded from the commercial areas, which is great for you to enjoy being surrounded by nature and water. ROOMS The rooms are motel-style, located in different two-story buildings spread across the property. Huge rooms with plenty of storage space and comfy beds. Bathroom was narrow but otherwise functional with good water pressure on the shower. It was surprisingly quiet despite the motel-style design. Instead of bottled water, you get unlimited high-quality canned water. LOBBY A great place to hang out, since they'll have wine nights, cheese platters, and of course coffee and tea. You'll also see sparkling lemonade which is great before or after hiking. RESTAURANT Drake's is the onsite dinner restaurant but they also have a casual Cafe with breakfast. I'll review separately - food and service are excellent. SERVICE The staff are excellent and gave many useful tips on local restaurants and hiking trails. The maid staff was very impressive as our rooms were cleaned daily. One time the rooms were finished right after breakfast! AMENITIES Our energetic 5yo son loved running around the grounds of the Lodge, and we saw a large hot tub and heated pool outside. They also have a gym and spa but unfortunately we did not get to try either. Good Wifi signal on the property but note you may lose cellular signal once you exit the property until you get closer to the nearby restaurants and docks. Overall, an excellent and relaxing stay. It was definitely on the pricier side of hotels, even though they don't tack on any parking or resort fees. Would recommend for a special occasion or splurge. read more

The perfect spot to stay in Bodega Bay. Grounds are peaceful and beautiful. We had a hummingbird that kept visiting on our balcony. When they asked why we were coming, told them it was our 25 anniversary and they surprised with a bottle of sparkling wine in the room. Nice touch. The team was very friendly and you had everything you needed there from restaurant to gym/pool/infinity hot tub on site. Great bird sanctuary and hiking trails near by. Love the moody coastal weather since we were there end of October. Highly recommend. read more

Best place to stay in Bodega bay! Gorgeous accommodations, quiet location, great views of the bay and a lovely restaurant and workout area. The grounds are so pretty and peaceful to walk and right next to the bird sanctuary. Shout out for the happy hour with little treats and wine and especially the sparkling lemonade which I loved! Everyone was helpful and friendly. Free parking. Best of all was housekeeping. They are so efficient and intuitive and friendly. We would be gone for maybe an hour for breakfast and our room was spotless and serviced! Give those amazing ladies a raise! The rooms were modern and spacious and quiet with extremely comfortable mattress and pillows. There are complimentary fitness classes and yoga etc. fire pits for s'mores if you like but we were too busy exploring. We loved this place. It's pricey but we were happy there. Also I should say they were very accommodating when I realized I had a small snag in our travel plans and they happily and graciously accommodated. Not all places will do that. Went to the restaurant for breakfast and it was pricey but very tasty and honestly there's not much out there here for breakfast. We just loved it here! read more

The food in the restaurant, cocktails, hot tub, are all perfectly on point. For the price, it seemed they were a bit short staffed to maintain enough clean towels, glasses and room service dishes were out a long time, railings, gates, wood peeling and faded. We have visited at least 10 times and honestly the worst offense was the live music in the bar. It was overwhelming for a small space and sounded like a funeral. Every time we have been in the bar or restaurant the music is surprisingly weird. At least defer to yacht rock if you must. We sat outside in the cold because it was honestly so unbearable. We keep coming back because of the relaxing atmosphere, the hot tub and sauna and the food. However it may be awhile until our next visit as structure and landscape are looking tired. read more

Probably the nicest place in Bodega Bay to stay. Room with a great view of the ocean. Large luxurious bathroom, comfy bed, and nicely updated room. Note there is no air conditioning in the rooms, which for most of the year won't be an issue. Keep the patio door open and the ceiling fan on and the room cools off quickly. They also provide a portable fan in the closet which we did not use. The nearby restaurant is very good as well. Reservations recommended for dinner. read more

We have on occasion been given a room upgrade. The onsite restaurant offers great food and drinks. We have always been pleased with stays. The rooms have had remodeling done and have great amenities and views. 8 years ago my wife and I had our first date there, 5 years later we were married on the grounds, and since The Lodge at Bodega Bay has been our favorite coastal retreat. read more

Absolutely fabulous! "The best property in Bodega Bay, without a doubt." That's how my husband described this gorgeous place on the south side of town and just up the hill from Doran Beach. A beautifully appointed property with several buildings, including the main lobby and upper building and the lower building, which includes the on-site restaurant Drakes. There's a roomy infinity hot tub overlooking the bay's wetlands, plus a super warm outside pool, even in mid-December - what a surprising treat! They also offer spa services, a whimsical mosaic tiled outdoor(ish) shower and nice fitness room. We arrived just in time to check-in before enjoying a quick wine tasting with snacks as the sun set behind Bodega Head. While we didn't partake, they also had a nice offering of free wellness activities like morning yoga and meditation, plus bikes and park passes for guests to use during their stay. Staff at all levels were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Can't wait to return to this gem at one of our favorite weekend getaway destinations! read more

Absolutely best place to stay in bodega Bay. My family and I stayed there for two nights only but the experience was worthwhile. We dined there two nights, and the food was exquisite. I had the black cod, one night and the following night I had this salmon burger, which was to die for. The service and staff were excellent and hospitable. We went on a nature walk one morning and our tour guide was very informative on recommendations. The Front Desk were so nice and they even notified us about these excellent services such as the bird walk, s'mores night, and wine and cheese reception. Even in the lobby, first thing in the morning, they would have coffee and an assortment of tea for the bird. The staff provided us binoculars, and we didn't have to give them back until the end of the day, which was perfect because we were able to use the binoculars for the many trails in bodega Bay. The next time I come to bodega Bay, I will definitely book their spa services. Highly recommend! read more

Very special hotel in Bodega Bay. We stayed in their captain's quarters and it was such a beautiful room. We were there to celebrate a 40th birthday and the experience exceeded all of our expectations. The hotel has a quaint spa with great services, wine tastings in the game room attached to the main lobby, a pool, bikes you can borrow and peaceful trails down to the water. We booked a night here. When I checked in, I asked if they would give a complimentary upgrade since it was our anniversary but they were booked out. Not long after we settled in our room, one of the staffs knocked our door and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine with a card. What a good hospitality! Our room was spacious and clean. The balcony overlooked a garden with the view of water in the distance. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom looked nice. The swimming pool was nice but it was pretty crowded as there were lots of families using it. The hotel was quiet and good for relaxing vacation. This is a wonderful place where I have stayed with my husband before. The previous room was definitely a 5 star room but this time I am not sure if it had to do with the way I booked our stay. I booked it for my husband's birthday. The discounted price was not cheap, the room showed signs of wear, especially on the fire place. It looked like someone went at it with a sharp object. The shower pressure was also lacking. In the end my husband had a great sleep and Bodega Bay is a wonderful lodge. read more

Bodega Bay Inn was a mix -- families with small kids, couples cozied up by the fire, and a retreat group that seemed to take over most of the common areas. When we checked in Friday, I noticed non-EVs parked at the charging stations all day. I brought it up to the front desk, but they just said "first come, first served." Didn't feel like they cared much, which was annoying. The fire pits were another issue -- not enough of them. Most were always taken, and since that's one of the main things to do here (fires, s'mores, hanging out), it got frustrating. We eventually found a spot by the pool next to a younger couple who welcomed us in. Super cool people -- we even took the boyfriend out for a quick drink while his girlfriend stayed back and chilled with our families by the fire. One suggestion: there's a great unused spot all the way to the far right. It has the best sunset view and would be perfect for adding more fire pits. That whole area could be way more usable and would make a big difference. Overall, the service was decent -- not super proactive, but friendly. The highlight was Carson at the front desk. I called for extra fire logs and he was quick, polite, and just solid. Later that night, we wandered into the lobby looking for something to do, and Carson was there. We got to talking -- snacks, sausages, wine. I mentioned we had just come back from Hartford Winery in Russian River (amazing tasting), and he even offered my friend a glass of wine he liked. That kind of personal touch really stuck with us. Carson gave us the best last impression. The rest of the team could learn a lot from him. read more

I have to start by saying these beds were so comfortable (in our opinion) and we all fell asleep right away. We had a one night stay and for breakfast we went to Drakes Sonoma Coast. On the hotel campus they have a sauna, hot tub, a pool, a gym, and more. The views were so pretty and just a heads up it can get pretty cold and windy. (We didn't know this till the end but the front desk said that all the amenities that are consumable are free/complimentary.) read more

We had a pretty comfortable stay here with some pros and cons. Pros: - rosemary lemonade in the lobby is delicious and they have it daily - complimentary wine tasting hours - complimentary house white/red for our anniversary with chocolates in our room - asked for memory foam/synthetic pillows in replacement of our flat down ones, and they delivered! - next to Drakes restaurant, easily walkable - massage was decent - provided a better fridge and microwave for our room before arrival so we could store our baby's food and heat it up - personal patio - love the deep bath tub and bath fizz - two luggage stands for the rooms - slippers and plushy robes - electric vehicle chargers - smooth checkout (and provided us water to leave with) - heated pool (even tho we couldn't use it) - couldn't hear neighbors Cons: - forgot our complimentary house wine in our room until we reached out for it - down pillows are too flat and uncomfortable for sleep - delivered our replacement pillows when we had our "do not disturb" sign up - scrub treatment was nice but could be better as my body had parts that could've been scrubbed better - A/C in the room wasn't working so had to use ceiling fan - spiderwebs above coffee/tea area - crumbs/leftovers of something on the edges of the carpet (cleaning could be done better) - toilet paper too thin - shower pressure too light - read more

What a lovely stay! Beautiful place, excellent service, really nice rooms! We recently took a trip here to celebrate our girls bday. It was such an amazing time. We loved our huge room with the double king beds and fireplace! The private patio area looking out to the option was incredible. We started our night at the restaurant and spent the rest of our time enjoying our room. The only thing we couldn't figure out with the staffs help was casting, but eventually did so that was great. I think my fav part about our experience was chillin in front of the fireplace with my girls and dipping in the super hot infinity jacuzzi 8am lol I would highly recommend coming here. AVOID: Clean, Friendly, But Too Many Issues for Cost (Keep Looking), No Follow-Up to Complaints REVIEW: First the good news, during our recent three-night stay at the Bodega Harbor Inn, Room #3, we found the room to be clean, and the staff friendly. That said there were multiple issues to make the rate of $212 a night clearly not worth it. The issues included: 1) A bathroom window that would not lock, 2) Toilet seat only affixed on one side, 3) No screen or any of the windows (some units have screens many do not), so no breeze of fresh air for sleeping, and no fans in the room, 4) Wall plugs that did not work, making it impossible to have a light AND an outlet for charging your phone. And, while I suspect the motion detector light in the bathroom is supposed to go on when you walk in having it do so in the middle of the night was maddening to have the bright light come on, and no way to disable it. ADDITION: I sent these comments to the owner via email, I was told the owner would be in contact (so I know I have a food email address) and I have never heard another word. As a courtesy sent one more email, waited two weeks, again never heard back. Another reason why you may wish avoid this lodging. All told the cleanliness, and nice staff did not make up for so many shortcomings and uncaring ownership. I'd suggest shopping around for local lodging that is better kept up. read more

The lodge is absolutely beautiful. The room itself was simple but very nice and clean. The most breathtaking part was the grounds themselves. The property was immaculate. Perfectly landscaped with sweeping views. There was flowers, growing everywhere and succulents and beautiful native plants. There was so much wildlife. We saw owls and hawks and hummingbirds and pelicans all from our balcony. They have a cute pool and an infinity hot tub that we didn't get to try, but it looked like people are having a lot of fun there. There were a lot of families and a lot of kids, but also a bunch of couples. We wanted to try the restaurant, but we didn't make reservations in advance and that was a mistake because it looked really beautiful and the food smelled really good. I look forward to returning here again. It was nice to be so close to so many great restaurants. We really enjoyed going to Tony's seafood in Marshall. The staff at the lodge were incredibly nice. Be very careful if you are booking an event here. Take notes about everything while you are meeting with their event planner. Review your notes with the planner and have them sign off on the pricing before signing anything. Confirm costs for every little thing. Ask about service charges and other types of charges that are tacked on at the end. Put your notes in an email and ask for confirmation of those notes from the events planer you worked with. Confirm that no additional charges will be added. Include any pricing information you were given for any items you may still be thinking about and plan on opting for later. read more

Beautiful lodge with amazing views. The rooms and the rest of the property are clean and well-maintained. The salt water pool is big enough to do some limited lap swimming. The only downside: while the restaurant and bar are great, they dont have a clue how to prepare a vegan dish. My husband loved his meat and fish dishes. I'm vegan, and I couldn't wait to get home to a real vegan meal. It's not hard---we cook delicious vegan food daily. But, Drakes, in spite of their vegetarian/vegan menu options, hasn't figured it out yet. We'll be back to the hotel, but we'll dine somewhere else. read more

Date of visit: 8/8/2022-8/9/2022 We loved The Lodge at Bodega Bay! We stayed for a night at The Lodge of Bodega Bay and the experience was amazing. There is only one thing need to mention first if you plan to stay which is the fog horn. The fog horn rang for every 10-15 seconds for the whole day and night except for some short pause (1 or 2 hours I guess?) Which is not a big deal to us but if you are very aware of noise, then you should consider bring your own earplugs. The Lodge at Bodega Bay offers free parking, no resort fee, free beach bikes to use, and you can also ask for a day pass to drive to the Doran Regional Park. Love the view from the balcony of the room, directly facing the pool area and the bay and the lagoon. There are some public fireplaces in the resort grounds for people to use to have a drink to watch the sunset. The pool area was clean with an infinity hot tub, warm water pool and a sauna. We stayed at the pool area after check-out for a few hours to relax and it was unforgettable. read more

We try to visit The Lodge at Bodega Bay every year, and they never cease to amaze us with their outstanding hospitality. Our most recent stay truly warmed our hearts! On our first night, we were hoping to catch the Warriors playoff game and enjoy room service while our toddlers settled in and took in the beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, the one channel airing the game wasn't working in our room. Within minutes of calling, guest services was at our door--literally in under two minutes--trying to fix the issue. They worked diligently with IT, even on a Saturday night, rebooting the system several times. When it couldn't be resolved, they offered to move us to another room. We declined, as it wasn't a big deal for us--we just streamed the game on our iPad. The next afternoon, we returned from our son's birthday outing to find a handwritten note, some saltwater taffy, and a complimentary bottle of wine thanking us for our patience. That night, we ordered room service for dinner, including a dessert for our son's second birthday--and they even supplied us with a candle on such late notice. To top it off, they comped the entire meal. The gesture was incredibly thoughtful and meant so much to us. I highly recommend The Lodge at Bodega Bay--we'll definitely keep coming back. To the guest services team: it's the little things that make a big difference, and we truly appreciate you. read more

We had a lovely stay at the Lodge, the hot tub and pool area was clean and had lots of fresh towels. They also have a filtered water dispenser which is great; I wish we had more than one swell bottle with us. The rooms had everything we needed, including an easy light log for the fire. I only have a few negatives....one bring major. The hotel was half empty and they put someone above us. The ceiling is very thin and we could hear every step (both housekeeping and later the guests). Back and forth and back and forth! Second is the crab boat horns which were all night long, we realized later that there is a sound machine next to the bed. We wish the hotel staff told us about it. Between the horns & overhead noise, it wasn't restful. , The 7-9 wine hour and s'more hour was sweet, but the 1 oz pour was tiny and not worth venturing out. Guests were thrilled with the s'mores. The coffee/tea bar was much appreciated, one of the other guests told us how good the coffee is, and we agree. A water filter or water urn in the lobby would be welcome, too. read more

Pricy = yes, Discomfort = no! I think what's important is to acknowledge this place is a lodge and not a hotel. Granted the prices make you think your'e staying in a 5 star hotel, but you're not. You're staying in a lodge that is more built for your weekend getaway. With that said, we really enjoyed our stay in the Captain's Quarters. My family of 5 came here for a weekend getaway and it fulfilled our needs. The Captain's Quarters comes with a large dinning table, couch, fireplace, lazy boy, 1 1/2 bathrooms, 2 Murphey Beds in the main room and one private bedroom (please see pictures). Not to mention an amazing balcony view of the lodge and Bodega Bay in the background. My only gripe is there is one food option and that's the lodge's restaurant Drakes. While the restaurant is certainly fine dining w/ great food that offers room service, the menu is limited and quite expensive. If you want more food options, you'll have to drive into town, which was tough for us because we were here during the pandemic and the rainy season. read more

This is our 4th stay here. Simply the best! If you want to treat yourself, get a room with an ocean view and just sit and relax and watch the waves from the warmth of the room. Great brewed coffee in the lodge and complimentary wine and cheese happy hour too. read more

We had an amazing stay here. Right at check im, everyone was so accommodating and kind. The location was dreamy and the kids had so much fun just walking the grounds and going the beach each day.
