Remember the classic Hitchcock movie "The Birds"? Well it was filmed on location here, at the adjacent connected restaurant The Tides, and in the surrounding Bodega Bay area! I got a chance to stay here to enjoy the scenery of Bodega Bay and was also treated to the wine paired seafood focused dinner at The Tides! We even got to have theater night and watch The Birds and made a drinking game out of every time a character said "Bodega Bay", "Santa Rosa", and "The Tides"! If you love cool Sonoma coast weather, nature hikes, beach views, and seafood (and wine!)....definitely come to visit! TRIVIA NOTE: Actress Tippi Hedren often came to stat in one of the suites on property here!

What a quaint hidden gem. Our room provided us with stunning views of the inlet bay and animal life. The room was clean and just perfect. The staff made special early check in accommodations since I was traveling with an elderly parent. Will visit again. Well done

A Peaceful Getaway with Stunning Views We stayed at The Inn at the Tides in Bodega Bay while celebrating a birthday trip from the San Jose region in mid-January, and we could not have asked for better weather. It was sunny every day with temperatures in the mid-60s, which made Bodega Bay feel like a perfect winter escape. The week before it had been raining like crazy and some areas had been flooded. We really lucked out! The hotel is located on a hill, not really next to the water, but because it is situated on the hill, it has great views. Our 2nd story room on the top of the hill was spacious, quiet, and extremely comfortable. The high vaulted ceiling with a skylight made it feel open and airy, and the layout included a couch and small table with chairs, which was perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening. We also appreciated having a coffee pot and small refrigerator in the room. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. We saw deer grazing near the bushes and trees, which added to the peaceful coastal feel. The views are excellent, especially from the second-floor units, overlooking Bodega Bay on one side and rolling grassy hills with cows on the other. The hotel is very quiet and restful. Housekeeping was excellent (thank you Grace), and the front desk staff, Evelyn and Tyler, were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. The wellness center is really nice with a large T-shaped pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, workout room, and shaded tables for sitting, eating, or enjoying a drink. Parking is plentiful with some covered spots, plus the hotel is right next to a 76 gas station, which is very convenient for that long drive home. The hotel restaurant is directly across the street on the water and has great views of the bay. Seals, birds and an occasional fishing boat can be seen. There is another restaurant closer to the hotel rooms but it was closed during our stay. A couple of minor wishes: the workout room could use a large mirror, a few more weights, and maybe even a Concept2 rowing machine (hint, hint). And the TV in our room could also be a bit larger (I know, were not their to watch TV, but we love HGTV!). Lastly, if you do not want to deal with stairs, request a ground-floor room. There are no elevators. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend The Inn at the Tides. It was the perfect home base for our first visit to Bodega Bay. Looking forward to staying there again ... hopefully soon!

This hotel is a great retreat for a weekend away. We escaped for a holiday away and this was a great hotel choice. We relaxed and enjoyed cozy time with a fireplace and a stunning view. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was a touch outdated but the water was quite warm and the toiletries were great. Parking was super easy. It was a quick walk to the pool and hot tub. The hot tub was perfect on a foggy afternoon. The pool was frigid, but a warmer day it would have been perfection. Having a restaurant on property for our holiday dinner was also a nice bonus. They gave us a free bottle of wine so we brought it home for friends since we don't drink. Having the fridge was a nice feature also because we grabbed some snacks and were able to have an indoor picnic lunch with treats we kept in the fridge.

We had a relaxing weekend with an amazing room with bay view. Hospitality was great and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Helen at the restaurant across the street made the best mocha ever! Food was delicious. This mini vacation turned out better than I thought.

Left the early as I had to call from my cell phone, I seen a review of unable to call room service as we had an issue and they had to call from their cell phone and I tried my phone since I stayed next to them and my phone was also not working not sure why I there are land line phone when they do NOT work. Aside from charging consumers that stay in your hotel for their coffee in the restaurant they also get charged refills as well. The well paid employees didn't even take my pink slips for the breakfast as I stayed overnight at the neighboring hotel and I showed it to the front desk and they mentioned it goes to the server... why would it go to the server when they don't verify the date it would be valid therefore you'd have to pay for the meal if it weren't verified. Please train your front staff correctly though consumers that have pink slips that refused to be checked shouldn't not be charged for the "front desk" not knowing I had a slip when I showed it to them, there should be communication! As soon as you walk in, notice how disorganized they are... haha

Patio area, view of this grassy hill in one direction and view of the ocean in the other direction. Felt private and secluded.

Management is apparently non-existent! The room was nice. The view was great! We had breakfast at the Tides across the street it was delicious. The support staff at the Inn was friendly. We only stayed one night. The patrons in the room next to us was a married couple were very drunk and screamed and violently yelling at each other all night. Lots of Profanity! Locking each other out of the room! Screaming they're "going to get a divorce". I called the front desk a number of times each time was told "they'd take care of it" by two different individuals. Yelling and screaming went on from 10:00 p.m. to midnight then again from 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. Then they were back at it yelling at each other again at 6:00 a.m. until they finally left the room at 8:00 a.m. Even with earplugs it was hard to sleep at times.. The next morning at discharge I asked for the manager I believe her name is Rebecca (may have remembered name incorrectly) I explained my experience to the two staff members that were there at the time, they said Rebecca was at lunch and would be back in 20 minutes and would call me. No call received. I called again the following day, again was told Rebecca was not in the office right then and would call me back shortly, she never did! The third time again Rebecca was not there when I called so I left a message on voicemail so all my contact information was left clearly. As of today's date almost a month later I have not heard anything back. I'm imagining now after listing this review I'm likely to hear from someone :( ... too late, very disappointed!!

The Inn at the Tides was a wonderful choice for our stay in Bodega Bay. The room was gorgeous and cozy, loved the fire place and we had a view of the bay. Only downside we had rowdy guests next door, so walls a very thin. They yelled all night. Other than that, the restaurant at the Inn (the one at the main the property) was delicious and service was lovely. If I was staying in the area again, this is the place I'd recommend.

    The view from our room!

Excellent rooms and location, very private! We can't wait to go back! Every room has a view of the bay. Crab ships and eating at the TIDES Restaurant.....omg amazing seafood

4th year holding our Leadership Santa Rosa Retreat out here. Great venue and this year the weather was spectacular. The staff is always very helpful and the rooms are very nice. Extended my stay one night to kick off the weekend.

I went to the restaurant here and shopped at the gift shop. I loved seeing all the photos from Hitchcock "The Birds." Seems like a very romantic place to stay at the hotel. Would love to come back.

Can you walk to the beach from the Inn?

It is possible but you would be walking on the highway which doesn't have a shoulder. It's about a 5-10 minute drive.

The inn is located on a busy road, but traffic slows down in the evening. The rooms have a charming beachy feel and are on the smaller side, but that's exactly what we expected after reading reviews. We were only staying one night, so we booked the smallest room. If we return for a longer stay, we'd probably opt for a larger room. That said, if you're in Bodega Bay, hopefully you're spending most of your time exploring rather than sitting in your room! The rooms include mini fridges and a coffee station, and the lobby has a larger coffee and tea station as well as a microwave. Parking is located right outside your room, which makes loading and unloading easy. The location is also very convenient. It's within walking distance of a grocery store that has just about everything you might need, including a deli. The Birds Cafe is right across the street and serves coffee, delicious breakfasts, oysters, lobster rolls, and more - all with fantastic views. Overall, this is a great spot if you're looking for a comfortable stay with incredible views and easy access to everything Bodega Bay has to offer.

Our most recent experience was not great with newer employee (Gina). When we arrived on WED we were happy to get our keys to the Harbor House as it was our first time to stay in this house. We got into the house and we realized it smelled of gas. There was one burner that was taped off with do not use on the tape. It was obvious that the Inn was aware there was a problem, yet this was not taken care of properly prior to our arrival. We returned to the office to inform them with our concerns in the Harbor House. Gina let us know that she has had other guests with the same complaints but she said it had been recently serviced. She said if it made us feel better she could have the handyman come look at it again in the morning. She tried to reach the him, but there was no answer and she had to leave a message. Gina did assure us that the owners daughter had just stayed in the Harbor House with no complaints. We chose to stay the night and have the handyman check the stove in the morning. It was two days before the stove was checked so we were not able to use the heat or stove until Friday evening. The young man who worked on the stove let us know it was leaking gas because it was not fixed correctly. We also had some attitude from Gina when we tried to get 4 wash cloths and more coffee for the coffee maker. We also had to ask for toilet paper twice because we only had 2 spare rolls for 4 adults staying 5 nights (6 days). We should have been offered a discount for the 3 days we were not able to safely use the heater and stove due to the gas leak. We have decided that we will have to move on and find a new place to stay for our yearly vacation to Bodega Bay. I think things would have been handled differently had George or Steve been running the office that week. We are very lucky that the house did not blow up nor did we have poisoning due to the natural gas leak. Keeping all the windows open until it was properly serviced was difficult because it was so cold, but we are still here to share this story. Looking back on this we never should have stayed in the home but I am happy to be alive. We are just disappointed that our trip was not enjoyable and we paid extra to stay in the house when we would have had a better vacation just renting a room without these issues.

Pros: this was a very charming estate and the staff was beyond kind to both of us and our pup. He was welcome everywhere except the dining room, the pool and spa. The room was very cute and clean. The only downside for me and my allergies is that there is wood fireplace in each room. The bathroom had plenty of hot water. The breakfast was from 8-10 am in the dining room and had a decent meat-less spread. Toast, bagels, oatmeal and toppings, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, fruit salad, coffee, tea assortment and juices. The grounds are super cute and weather permitting there is a movie playing on a projector with complimentary s'mores to cook on the outdoor wood fire. Since we had our dog, we didn't use the pool or spa. "Aunt Kay" we interacted with the most and was so kind to both of us and Dio. She made our stay! Not only was she informative but also checked in on us when we we'd pass through the lobby. Dio was a big fan of her. Cons: if you have allergies or are sensitive to wood smoke, this is not your destination. Again, there are wood burning fireplaces in each room and a large fire pit by the movie. The room we stayed at is across from the pool and it can get noisy. You can also hear everyone that walks in front of your room. Along with that there is a lot of wildlife, so you may need ear plugs. If you need to sleep in the dark, the front blinds are going to still let in light, so bring a sleep mask. Update: we got a text that I forgot my socks in the room. They offered to mail them to us, we declined. I don't remember the last time house keeping and the front office too the time to be that considerate.

The room itself was very clean, sheets, bathroom, everything was very clean. I always get paranoid about bed bugs and we had zero issues. The breakfast in the morning was also very nice and fresh with good options. They had eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, cream cheese, very delicious fruit, oatmeal, coffee and tea. That alone made it a reasonable place to stay. The dining room was also very clean. I also really liked that they had the outdoor movie theater and smores. Our kids loved it each night. The library/game room is also such a cute unique area that is great for those who have kids. However now to the bad. That includes the cute library. While a cute idea, it's extremely dirty filled with dead flies and bees all over the windows and even cushions. The windows on the outside have not been clean in a very long time. The dead flies, bees are everywhere. There on the floor, the light fixtures, jacuzzi and pool. The jacuzzi had so many dead bugs in the water and the water also had probably dirt from people's bodies. It was very unsanitary and disappointing to say the least. The property itself is not maintained. There are bugs, weeds, and poor condition of most of the outside of the property. It's too bad because it could be a great place to stay if they just did some extra work to clean up. Part of me would want to come back because of the breakfast and outdoor movie but they really need to take the time to clean.

First impressions of the king suite were great: stylish, modern, and freshly updated. Unfortunately, it also came with a side of "Eau de Pine-Sol" so intense it could qualify as a third guest. We opened every window and door in a desperate attempt to air it out, but the scent stood its ground like a pine-scented fog of war. By bedtime, my sinuses were staging a protest, and the birthday getaway vibe had definitely taken a hit. The silver lining? By morning, we could breathe like humans again. Now, about those windows: charming in theory, but none of them had screens. The bedroom window opened right onto a sidewalk, which meant a parade of passing strangers just a few feet away. With no A/C and a security risk that felt more "live stage performance" than "private suite," we ended up sweating it out with the windows closed. The bed also had... character. The headboard was completely detached from the wall, and according to my husband, his side of the bed offered a gentle downhill slope--ideal for sledding, not so much for sleeping. All that said, I actually really like this place. It has great bones and a lot of potential they're actively working on. I'd absolutely come back, but next time I'll book a second or third-floor room, and I'll be calling ahead to make sure it doesn't smell like a pine forest exploded indoors.

I have quite a bit of feedback of this business especially as they finish remodeling and rebranding. Based off the old photos the rooms seem like they have improved a lot so I am hoping they do well overall. Location: 5/5 It's right in front of the beach, you get a nice view of your room faces the bay and there's a small coffee shop, local burgers and hot dogs, and post office next door, also Fishetarian is so close! Great for a coasty vibe and a beer. Check-In/ Check-Out and staffing: 2/5 Upon arrival (around 1pm) we were told our room wasn't ready and we could not check in until 4pm. The lady at the front was very friendly and offered us some chocolate while she processed our payment. Once checked in, process was smooth but what really upset us was the limited staffing they have on site generally. No one is there at check out (11am) and they don't arrive until between 1-4 which isn't good for a hospitality business. Overnight our neighbors were up until 5AM. Drinking and smoking cigarettes on their balcony so we weren't able to enjoy our outdoor space. There was no one to call and notify to tell them to keep it down. They were also jumping or dropping furniture idk it was loud thuds though, so I'm sure the people below them were annoyed too. In the morning we requested a different room and they were apologetic but did not find us a new place and thankfully our neighbors checked out. I really hope Bodega Coast Inn followed up with them because they were an inconsiderate group of adults acting like they were in college. Definitely ruined our night and made the next morning hard to enjoy because we were so tired. I also requested a complimentary night but they ghosted me and stopped responding. The room: 3/5 Beautiful renovated room with a mid century modern vibe. Only complaint is the shower. It was clean but the way the glass half-wall is situated splashes water EVERYWHERE. If they don't address this, they will need to do a lot of maintenance on floor repairs for water damage. We had to lay a towel on the floor each time we showered. The property was also undergoing renovations and there was no noise at night but the spa wasn't operating or in good condition. Generally I would recommend this place. But I hope they staff someone to be available overnight for noise complaints because it can easily become a party room without anyone from the company knowing and guests not having a good experience.

You do get a bit of road noise due to the location directly off highway 1, but late at night, the road is not well traveled. The unit is cleaned by tenant's so it's not professionally cleaned. Still, it was not too bad. The unit could benefit from a new bed and perhaps some updated dishware. It would really pop with some new furnishings, but then the price would likely increase. The only negatives for us were the shower was somewhat clogged and we weren't able to enjoy the hot tub because it needed cleaning and was slimy. We booked on extremely short notice, so we can't fault the owner for not having time to check on the unit before our arrival. He was easy to work with and responded very quickly to phone calls. When we first used with this company back in 2014 hubby rented the Tramonto property when we first…read moregot together. It was a cute little studio unit that sat right on the edge of the bay. The interior is modernized design, it is an open concept that has a queen size bed also a pull out sofa bed in the living area, TV Blu-ray player, a small kitchen, private deck overlooking the bay, bathroom showers, and a shared yard with propane barbecue. is a quaint little spot for two people, and I love that they are dog friendly here they have stuff for dogs to use just in case you forgot your stuff. They have utensils, cups plates, spices, and some teas in their cupboards. In 2017 we use the same company to rent a house property on Gull Dr. That home was a very spacious home. We had our kids with us so it was nice to share it with other people plenty of space, open concept and they also had. It was a four bedroom house and it also had a washer and there were two spaces for parking and they also had a gaming area in the garage. For our 10 year wedding anniversary hubby decided to come back to the place we met and fell in love. But this time around he rented Albatramonto property that's up stairs from the original Tramonto property that we stayed at 11 years ago. This one it was almost identical to the original location we stayed at, but this one had a breakfast nook and two split patios. One patio facing the ocean and the other patio facing the tides wharf. The company was really wonderful. They made us a little heart towel and gave us a bottle of sparkling rose for our anniversary. Just be wary of ants, especially during the winter season just don't keep food out in the open or unsealed. If your ant problem gets really bad, then call the company up and they'll come out and spray. The only complaint we really had was the heater they had didn't warm the place enough and it was really cold. luckily, they had layers of blankets on the bed to keep us warm. The sunset are still amazing to watch from the patio. Parking is a little tight for this property. Brianna was the person we had dealt with, and she had simply been nothing but helpful with the bookings. The nice part about this company is everything is done online via email and to check into your property. You never have to go to the office. You can just show up at the actual vacation home and the key is in the lock box. every time you call them, there's always someone there to pick up the phone and answer any questions that you have. we will definitely be back here again in the near future you can never go wrong with any of the properties. The view is just superb for sunsets.
