Our stay at The Inn at The Tides was amazing. Upon arrival, Rebecca, the Inn's manager, surprised us with an upgrade to a King bed suite with breathtaking views of Bodega Bay. As if that weren't enough, a bottle of wine was waiting for us. It was a great touch! The two young men at the front desk deserve a special shoutout as well. Since we were both new to the Bodega Bay area, we had no shortage of questions and these two employees answered every single one with warmth and patience, They made us feel like welcomed guests from the moment we walked through the door. Dinner at the in-house restaurant was nothing short of memorable. The food was exceptional, and having a live pianist set the most elegant atmosphere. It was the perfect way to celebrate my wife's birthday. When we left The Inn at The Tides, we already wanted to make plans to return. Starting off, the spot is beautiful. On arrival the greeting staff was great, explained everything and got us checked in quickly. On entry to the room, first reaction was, this place sort of smells. Not great, but not awful. Not sure what cleaner they use, but smelled like a 1980's Motel 6. Really put us off. Opened a few windows (weather was great) and that helped some. Again, view out the now open windows was great. Place was very clean, old but nice inside, no complaints there. Free continental breakfast was pretty good. Not sure why a croissant and a muffin were needed, especially since the muffin was a bit uninspired, but can't complain about free. The granola and juice were quite good. Would I stay again, probably, but not saying I won't shop around first to see if anything else hits me better. read more

I got a chance to stay here to enjoy the scenery of Bodega Bay and was also treated to the wine paired seafood focused dinner at The Tides! We even got to have theater night and watch The Birds and made a drinking game out of every time a character said "Bodega Bay", "Santa Rosa", and "The Tides"! If you love cool Sonoma coast weather, nature hikes, beach views, and seafood (and wine!)....definitely come to visit! A Peaceful Getaway with Stunning Views We stayed at The Inn at the Tides in Bodega Bay while celebrating a birthday trip from the San Jose region in mid-January, and we could not have asked for better weather. It was sunny every day with temperatures in the mid-60s, which made Bodega Bay feel like a perfect winter escape. The week before it had been raining like crazy and some areas had been flooded. We really lucked out! The hotel is located on a hill, not really next to the water, but because it is situated on the hill, it has great views. Our 2nd story room on the top of the hill was spacious, quiet, and extremely comfortable. The high vaulted ceiling with a skylight made it feel open and airy, and the layout included a couch and small table with chairs, which was perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening. We also appreciated having a coffee pot and small refrigerator in the room. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. We saw deer grazing near the bushes and trees, which added to the peaceful coastal feel. The views are excellent, especially from the second-floor units, overlooking Bodega Bay on one side and rolling grassy hills with cows on the other. The hotel is very quiet and restful. Housekeeping was excellent (thank you Grace), and the front desk staff, Evelyn and Tyler, were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. The wellness center is really nice with a large T-shaped pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, workout room, and shaded tables for sitting, eating, or enjoying a drink. Parking is plentiful with some covered spots, plus the hotel is right next to a 76 gas station, which is very convenient for that long drive home. The hotel restaurant is directly across the street on the water and has great views of the bay. Seals, birds and an occasional fishing boat can be seen. There is another restaurant closer to the hotel rooms but it was closed during our stay. A couple of minor wishes: the workout room could use a large mirror, a few more weights, and maybe even a Concept2 rowing machine (hint, hint). And the TV in our room could also be a bit larger (I know, were not their to watch TV, but we love HGTV!). Lastly, if you do not want to deal with stairs, request a ground-floor room. There are no elevators. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend The Inn at the Tides. It was the perfect home base for our first visit to Bodega Bay. This hotel is a great retreat for a weekend away. We escaped for a holiday away and this was a great hotel choice. We relaxed and enjoyed cozy time with a fireplace and a stunning view. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was a touch outdated but the water was quite warm and the toiletries were great. Parking was super easy. It was a quick walk to the pool and hot tub. The hot tub was perfect on a foggy afternoon. The pool was frigid, but a warmer day it would have been perfection. Having a restaurant on property for our holiday dinner was also a nice bonus. They gave us a free bottle of wine so we brought it home for friends since we don't drink. Having the fridge was a nice feature also because we grabbed some snacks and were able to have an indoor picnic lunch with treats we kept in the fridge. read more

The hotel was convenient, clean and we had a lovely view. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The only complaint is there is no air conditioning. The room cools enough if you leave the windows open, however, if you leave the windows open, you will be treated to the annoying sound of the foghorn that goes off every 10 seconds 24/7. The hotel offers ear plugs but if you are a light sleeper, the ear plugs won't help too much. read more

Left the early as I had to call from my cell phone, I seen a review of unable to call room service as we had an issue and they had to call from their cell phone and I tried my phone since I stayed next to them and my phone was also not working not sure why I there are land line phone when they do NOT work. Aside from charging consumers that stay in your hotel for their coffee in the restaurant they also get charged refills as well. The well paid employees didn't even take my pink slips for the breakfast as I stayed overnight at the neighboring hotel and I showed it to the front desk and they mentioned it goes to the server... why would it go to the server when they don't verify the date it would be valid therefore you'd have to pay for the meal if it weren't verified. Please train your front staff correctly though consumers that have pink slips that refused to be checked shouldn't not be charged for the "front desk" not knowing I had a slip when I showed it to them, there should be communication! As soon as you walk in, notice how disorganized they are... haha read more

Saw some very negative, but mixed reviews of this place so was a bit skeptical but we enjoyed our stay and have no real complaints. People always have something to complain about. The place is relatively modern/updated, very spacious inside, heater worked fine, nice balcony, clean. Check in was quick and easy. Huge complex that's split into different buildings. We were all the way in the back. Plenty of parking. The free continental breakfast is across the street at their restaurant and was pretty mediocre as many have mentioned, but you have the option of 25% off any other item on the menu instead. We did 1 free and 1 purchase. The free one is literally all carbs, but at least the fruits and baked goods were fresh and decent. They mark up the price on the menu to make it appear like you are getting value lol. We ordered the Wharf combination pancakes, $17 before discount. Management is apparently non-existent! The room was nice. The view was great! We had breakfast at the Tides across the street it was delicious. The support staff at the Inn was friendly. We only stayed one night. The patrons in the room next to us was a married couple were very drunk and screamed and violently yelling at each other all night. Lots of Profanity! Locking each other out of the room! Screaming they're "going to get a divorce". I called the front desk a number of times each time was told "they'd take care of it" by two different individuals. Yelling and screaming went on from 10:00 p.m. to midnight then again from 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. Then they were back at it yelling at each other again at 6:00 a.m. until they finally left the room at 8:00 a.m. Even with earplugs it was hard to sleep at times.. The next morning at discharge I asked for the manager I believe her name is Rebecca (may have remembered name incorrectly) I explained my experience to the two staff members that were there at the time, they said Rebecca was at lunch and would be back in 20 minutes and would call me. No call received. I called again the following day, again was told Rebecca was not in the office right then and would call me back shortly, she never did! The third time again Rebecca was not there when I called so I left a message on voicemail so all my contact information was left clearly. As of today's date almost a month later I have not heard anything back. I'm imagining now after listing this review I'm likely to hear from someone :( ... too late, very disappointed!! read more

Only downside we had rowdy guests next door, so walls a very thin. They yelled all night. Other than that, the restaurant at the Inn (the one at the main the property) was delicious and service was lovely. If I was staying in the area again, this is the place I'd recommend. read more

We stayed here on March 23 and had a very disappointing experience. A guest beneath our room was smoking marijuana for over an hour, and the smoke was coming directly into our room while we had our 8-month-old baby with us. We called the front desk twice, but no action was taken. On our last day, we were offered a room change, which was not practical with a baby and all of our belongings already set up. When my husband went to speak with the front desk manager, Rebecca Corrado, she came out and responded in a very rude and unprofessional manner, getting into his personal space and saying, "What do you want me to do about it?" It was only after this confrontation that the issue was finally addressed, but by then the experience had already been significantly impacted. I also requested contact information for higher management and was refused. I have since reached out directly and am hoping the hotel will address this situation appropriately. read more

We had a good experience at the hotel. We were allowed to check in early (3p when check in is usually at 4p). We were impressed with the room. It was fairly large with a sitting area and a queen-sized fold out sofa. There was a fireplace that was controlled by the thermostat. The bathroom was a good size as well with robes available for our use. The view was good although we would have liked to have been able to see the ocean without having to stand in a certain spot at the window. Our only real complaint about the room was the location of the tv. It was at the end of the bed and it was an awkward angle to watch from the sofa. It would have been nice to have the tv over the fireplace. We were given vouchers for the restaurant across the street. They were for a free continental breakfast or 25% off anything else on the menu. Our first morning, I got the continental breakfast and it came with granola with milk, fruit, a small blueberry muffin, and a croissant. I had juice with it and the juice glass was very small. The prices on the menu were comparable with where we came from and we were surprised. There was a pool, hot tub, and sauna available for use. We did the pool and the hot tub but not for too long as there were at least two families with kids there and all the adults and some of the kids were in the hot tub. We didn't use the sauna. The bed was comfortable and while it was higher than most beds, I had no problems getting in and out of it and I'm 5'3". We were given 6 pillows on the bed along with two in the closet. We were also given an extra blanket but I only used that when sitting on the couch watching tv because I was a bit cold. I had the thermostat set between 60 and 65 and the fire place never came on during the night. The bed had a blanket but it was too warm for me to use it and I just used the sheet. There was a restaurant onsite but we didn't eat there. Check out was easy since I was sent a link via text to check out. The hotel was near many restaurants so there were plenty of eating choices. There is also a small (but a tad expensive) grocery store not too far way that we went to twice to pick up a few things we needed such as ice and milk. I even saw a deer when I was walking to the gift shop across the street. We would stay there again. read more

Loved our stay at Inn at the Tides. We enjoyed a room with a fireplace that was spacious, clean and with a nice view, making for a romantic trip. The room was clean, and we loved the guest robes, especially since it was January. Furniture and bathroom are a bit outdated, but everything was clean. Thank you for the complimentary bottle of wine and breakfast, which just enhanced our romantic stay. The remote check-in and check-out process saves a lot of time! Staff is courteous, personable and full of information. Grounds are pretty and well-kept. Just wished the lounge wasn't closed for winter, so we could have enjoyed a drink after dinner. Will never stay here again, absolute worst hotel experience!! We had no heat in our room, ants on the pillows, shower wouldn't drain, bed was old and uncomfortable. The electric fireplace is the only heat in the rooms, if you have it on, the carbon monoxide alarm goes off. You have to keep the windows open and the fireplace on per the staff on site. So you pretty much freeze the whole time! Even with the beautiful view and free bottle of wine, not worth the torture of freezing all night in an ant infested uncomfortable bed. Management are incredibly unprofessional and unavailable to assist. Attempted to speak to a manager first thing in the morning and was told they don't have anyone on site. After multiple calls through the week attempting to reach the manager Rebecca, I finally got through. She was just as awful as the hotel experience was, even blamed my husband and I for the carbon monoxide alarm going off. Save the money and don't ever stay here!! read more

The hotel has a great location and an awesome restaurant. The 2 star review is for the horrible bed. The mattress was hard, lumpy and had a horrible squeak when you stood up from or sat down on it. For the price we paid it would have been nice to get a good night of sleep. The second complaint is that the room was not ready until right at 4 pm. We travel a lot and have never been denied an early checkin mid week. We won't be back to this hotel. read more

First off, this place is much more beautiful firsthand than what you'll see in the pictures. It's not the sexiest boutique kind of hotel but it's super clean she blends into nature seamlessly. The landscaping and views overlooking Bodega Bay are hard to beat. We loved pulling our curtains back to see the fog, beautiful spring wildflowers and water. The woman working at the front counter was very friendly and swift at checking us in. We received vouchers for complimentary continental breakfast for each day of our stay. Our room also came with a bottle of local wine. I also appreciated the daily local newspaper at our doorstep. Overall, this was a very positive experience. My only complaint would be that the restaurant across the street (where breakfast is served) could use a little TLC/better direction and customer service. The view is spectacular here! From the parking lot to the restaurant across the street, everything is like out of a storybook. There is an amazing hot tub and a beautiful seating area. We received a text message at 1:30 p.m. informing us that our room was ready on the day of our stay. Upon arrival, about an hour later, we were warmly greeted by two friendly front desk staff members, including Rebecca. She even went the extra mile by making reservations for our anniversary dinner for that evening. Upon exiting the lobby, we ascended the hill to the very top where our room awaited. Our accommodations boasted stunning views of the bay, which was sometimes shrouded in fog, this elicited a laugh from my wife and me. However, on clear days, the vista included an outlay of the property which overlooks the Bodega Bay harbor, the bay and a few grazing cows. An exceptional amenity was the complimentary 2022 Salmon Creek Chardonnay chilling in the refrigerator, a first in our extensive hotel experiences. The room was quite cozy, featuring a king-sized bed decked with several pillows. However, the pillows were small, and I think four larger, down pillows would have improved the comfort. The room included a fireplace, a sofa, desk, and a small table for two near the window. The television was on the smaller side, but it offered a full range of channels, ensuring you could easily find programs to meet your viewing preferences. Housekeeping merits special recognition for their outstanding service. After our first night, we found a "Press Democrat" newspaper waiting for us at our doorstep. Before leaving for breakfast, we requested for housekeeping to service our room by placing the sign on our door. When we returned about forty minutes later, we found our room had been thoroughly serviced. The bed was neatly made, the floor was vacuumed, the shower was cleaned, and fresh towels had been provided for our use. The conclusion of our stay at The Inn at the Tides arrived all too quickly, yet it was filled with relaxation and romance. I dunno what the problem is. Maybe too many spoiled people from SF? My room is clean and well stocked. Mini fridge, wine, water and coffee cups. Huge windows with a view. A desk if you need and a sitting area with chairs and a small table right by the windows. The pool looks amazing and welcoming, unfortunately I didn't bring a suit. There was also a complimentary bottle of wine chilling in the fridge for me. It's quite delicious. Front desk was kind and welcoming. She allowed an early check in when my plans to drive up the coast were thwarted by a construction truck. She also gave me lots of information and recommendations. Decided to treat myself to a coastal get away after entertaining family during the holidays. Had checked out several other hotels which were dated, had exorbitant rates, or required a 3-night minimum stay. Walked in to Inn at the Tides at 1:00 and asked if there were any rooms ready for early check-in. Sam provided great customer service, got me an AAA/AARP discount and set me up in a second floor room with a view of Bodega Bay. Walked the beautifully maintained grounds, saw an awesome sunset, enjoyed the peace and quiet and was treated to a complimentary breakfast at The Tides with another great view of the bay. I'm truly not sure where the poor reviews come from, in my opinion this is a lovely place. We got a king room with a fireplace and the room was spacious, clean, and well appointed/updated. The staff was friendly and we even checked in a bit early with no problems. The grounds themselves are stunning (at least in April when we visited) and were very well cared for. I did not visit the pool, but could see it from our room and it looked nice, clean, and popular. The entrance area to the pool is very neat as well. The property backs up to a farm so we could see the cows from the door. I didn't hear any noise from the neighbors (maybe we got lucky and had quiet adults next to/under us) and very little noise from the parking area. The room had lots of windows to view the bay and let in the natural light. The water pressure in the shower was great and the water was very hot. The only downfall in my opinion is the bed. It was noisy but not uncomfortable, but I am very picky. Overall, I'd stay in this location again in the future. read more

The location is perfect, right across from the restaurant, gift shop and the little store with wine, charcuterie items, and all kinds of delicious treats. Service was excellent, the room was large, comfy and clean. Complimentary wine in the fridge, newspaper the next morning, comfy bathrobes. The bed is nice and high and so comfortable. Lovely hillside room with sweeping vista of the ocean, approximately 2 blocks down the hill. A complimentary bottle of wine in the fridge and comfortable beds. However, the next morning, the shower wouldn't produce hot or even warm water even though the bathroom sink had plenty. At check out I told the clerk at the desk about the no hot water issue. She didn't seem to care much and didn't offer a token discount. And that is why the rating I gave wasn't higher. read more

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary the last week of May at the Inn at the Tides. They gave us an amazing room, beautiful view. Complimentary wine was so good. The massages they arranged in our room were great. Rachel's messages were fabulous job and it was nice not having to leave our room for the evening. Our dinner at Bay View Restaurant on the premises was delicious. We had great service and a great view. The complimentary continental breakfast was convenient and very tasty as well as the 25% off if we ordered from the menu was appreciated.
