Absolutely terrible and corrupt business. Not sure who runs this company but they need to really look in the mirror. See photos of what was advertised (stunning unobstructed water views) and what we were welcomed with...complete obstruction of the water and a nice view of a bunch of wood! When asked if we could leave and be refunded, customer service said no and told us there was "a bunch of information" on the listing about the construction nearby, but all this info conveniently left out the location of the new house and its impact on the views of this property. They also said they wouldn't be posting new photos of this property until construction finished, so they can keep gauging people like myself! What a special anniversary trip... People and companies like this are truly despicable. Cannot discourage people enough from staying in any of their properties and supporting this fraud. read more

When we first used with this company back in 2014 hubby rented the Tramonto property when we first got together. It was a cute little studio unit that sat right on the edge of the bay. The interior is modernized design, it is an open concept that has a queen size bed also a pull out sofa bed in the living area, TV Blu-ray player, a small kitchen, private deck overlooking the bay, bathroom showers, and a shared yard with propane barbecue. is a quaint little spot for two people, and I love that they are dog friendly here they have stuff for dogs to use just in case you forgot your stuff. They have utensils, cups plates, spices, and some teas in their cupboards. In 2017 we use the same company to rent a house property on Gull Dr. That home was a very spacious home. We had our kids with us so it was nice to share it with other people plenty of space, open concept and they also had. It was a four bedroom house and it also had a washer and there were two spaces for parking and they also had a gaming area in the garage. For our 10 year wedding anniversary hubby decided to come back to the place we met and fell in love. But this time around he rented Albatramonto property that's up stairs from the original Tramonto property that we stayed at 11 years ago. This one it was almost identical to the original location we stayed at, but this one had a breakfast nook and two split patios. One patio facing the ocean and the other patio facing the tides wharf. The company was really wonderful. They made us a little heart towel and gave us a bottle of sparkling rose for our anniversary. Just be wary of ants, especially during the winter season just don't keep food out in the open or unsealed. If your ant problem gets really bad, then call the company up and they'll come out and spray. The only complaint we really had was the heater they had didn't warm the place enough and it was really cold. luckily, they had layers of blankets on the bed to keep us warm. The sunset are still amazing to watch from the patio. Parking is a little tight for this property. Brianna was the person we had dealt with, and she had simply been nothing but helpful with the bookings. The nice part about this company is everything is done online via email and to check into your property. You never have to go to the office. You can just show up at the actual vacation home and the key is in the lock box. every time you call them, there's always someone there to pick up the phone and answer any questions that you have. we will definitely be back here again in the near future you can never go wrong with any of the properties. Surprise, surprise. Imagine my *lack* of surprise to log onto Yelp and to read about the illustrious Chris and his antics. I rented a place last weekend and had to call Chris while all the smoke detectors were going off because the fireplace flue was closed and the whole place full of smoke. No instructions about how to open flue or that it even needed to be opened before using. He was rude and childish. The fire dept. came and the whole house smelled like smoke all weekend which I guess was better than the overriding mold smell of the place before the smoke incident. He responded to no messages all weekend even when we notified him that the fire dept. had not put out the log properly and the deck had apparently had a small fire under it. The property will get bad reviews on Air B and B now because of him. He didn't do his job and is childish to boot. read more

Used to love this business. Last few times little things came up - the house we reserved 6 months in advance was sold, so had to give us a way smaller property, couldn't check in early, cleaning fee quadrulpled. This time, I looked at the availability and it brought places up. When I went to get a quote, it told me I need to book a minimum of a certain amount of nights. Why show me it was available for the nights I initially input? So sad, I used to love booking through them. read more

You could have rented the River Lookout this weekend for $790- which would have benefitted the owner and your company. Instead, it'll sit vacant and you'll be happy because you feel "right". Congratulations Chris. Keep feeding your ego and see how it helps your business. Best wishes to you. Very poor customer service. I didn't even get to the point of renting, because they didn't seem interested in my business. Called them on a Thursday morning for next day rental. Left a message for Chris, who was supposed to be in by noon. When he didn't call back by 3:15, I phoned again. He said he got a message that someone with my name called, but that was all he received. Briana is quite the gatekeeper- she was rude to me on the phone and apparently didn't give him my call back number. He then told me the house I was interested in, requires a three night stay. Dude- it's 3:25 the day before I want to come and that property, along with many others are still available for this weekend on your website. He told me to call tomorrow (my day of departure) to see if it's still available and he'll rent it for two nights then. If I were the owner of that home or any others that are listed with this company, I'd pull my rental agreement immediately. They apparently would rather be "right" than rent the homes they've contracted with. What a joke. read more

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay with Bodega and Beyond. The experience was far below expectations and has left me feeling both frustrated and deceived. Upon arrival, I was immediately met with a strong odor of cat urine throughout the house. Additionally, a backhoe tractor was parked in the driveway, creating an unsightly and unexpected obstruction. To make matters worse, I was not informed prior to my arrival that the power was out, causing significant inconvenience and discomfort. Given the unsatisfactory conditions, I was forced to leave the property after only one night. It is completely unacceptable that I am now being charged $1,100 for a rental that I was unable to fully utilize due to your company's negligence. Chris the property manager is a fraud and a piece of human garbage. I told Briana the receptionist I would drive back to the house to take pictures of the backhoe tracktor parked in the driveway, and she insisted that would not be necessary. Which I should HAVE NOT listened to her. Be aware, take pictures, and have evidence if you stay with any of these properties. Chris will screw you and think he'll always get away with it. My wife and I recently spent a week at Casa Del Sol in Bodega Bay She and I go way back in that neck of the woods. We had a cabin at Goat Rock for many years. Our last few annual treks have been spent at a rental house near the golf course, but based on a couple of recommendations, we decided to take Casa Del Sol for a week in April. Good choice! This house is really neat. Good layout/floor plan with the master bedroom at one end of the house and the guest bedroom at the other. Both bedrooms are large and have good views. The third bedroom is smaller be adequate if the extra room is needed. The clincher here is the view. The VIEW! The living room and dining area have large windows that give a more than 180 degree view of the hills and ocean.. totally open with pasture, hills, mountains and ocean. There are two comfy chairs planted right in front of the windows. Beware: the chairs must have some sort of magnetic attraction built in, because we had mucho trouble dragging our buns out of them to do much of anything but sit and enjoy. Well, maybe a sip or two of wine as well. The house is fully equipped although the wine glass situation is a little sketchy... mostly unmatched and certainly not adequate for more than a couple of folks. Same goes for the cookware, but, heck, do what we did and go out for meals to enjoy all the area has to offer. We especially liked Drake's Fireside Lounge for Happy Hour steamed clams. Totally killer! We did have one glitch at the house, but as soon as we brought it to the attention of Chris, the property manager of Bodega Bay & Beyond rentals, he got right on it and mitigated the problem to our satisfaction. We'll be going back for sure! read more

We had a wonderful stay in Bodega Bay thanks in large part to our accommodations at Heron View, a small home in a fabulous location-- steps away from Doran beach and in the lovely golf community of the Links at Bodega Harbour The home reminded us of a similar property we rented in nearby Sea Ranch, We loved the home for its charm, architectural style, relaxing feel, and proximity to nature. We were informed by management that there was construction next door, but this did not bother us during our stay. There were still ample views of the ocean from the bedroom and main living area as well as outdoor seating areas where the view was not impacted. Many of the homes in this community are close to one another but because they are thoughtfully landscaped and well placed next to one another, there appears to be no lack of privacy. The owners of this home thought of everything to make it a very welcoming stay- lots of dishes and glassware, extra sheets and plenty of towels, cleaning supplies, toiletries, and much much more. The house was cozy and relaxing and truly felt like a "home away from home." The management company, Bodega Bay and Beyond, was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Someone was always there to answer the phone and when we did have questions they responded quickly and efficiently. Before check-out, we gave management a few suggestions of small things that could be improved and they were very receptive to hearing our comments. I like the fact that Bodega Bay and Beyond is a small locally-owned company that truly seems to care about renters-- and owners! We will definitely use them again when renting in Bodega Bay. read more

Attractive house- (cold showers, yellow tub water, unusable fireplaces). Approved for last minute booking on 5/1 for a stay on 5/5 to 5/7 . We made it clear & they reviewed stay for 2 adults + 2 small dogs as we were coming into town for a maternity photoshoot. *Hit with a surprise $150 pet fee after booking confirmation & fees to my card. NO FEES LISTED ANYWHERE *Requested a refund same day w/in 4 hours of booking due to undisclosed fees. Fees would total $700 for a 2 day stay! Nightly rate was $500 Faced tactical radio silence from date booked of 5/1 to night of 5/6 for days despite contacting them through multiple channels. Endless negative reviews on Yelp of rude management & surprise charges is common. Felt pressured to stay since we didn't hear from them until the evening on 5/6 & our stay was for 5/7 despite a clear cancellation attempt Was told ON 5/6 policy was that we could only receive a refund if someone else rebooked (not listed anywhere)! Read the reviews on yelp, also see Chris's responses to each. He always has an excuse or is rude *Manipulative & rude management. *Deceptive listing with hidden fees & they will quote policies that don't exist in any listing or confirmation. *Unwillingness to work with guests in extenuating circumstances. *Owner contacted me directly saying "have your dogs stay with someone else" As hosts we would Have offered a full refund given cancellation w/in hours of booking. Prioritized guest experience over profit. Response to Chris's reply: 1) We could have totally expected this type of reply and within less and and a couple hours no less. Again, Chris you are just showing why this is a problematic team to work with. 2) Of course you don't address that you made no efforts to refund or contact within the same day of the cancellation. That it was undue stress and headache to not immediately refund with such a quick cancellation and were responsive same day, but only once the mention not a good fit you went radio silent. That you made this worse intentionally. This could have been quick and easy and no understanding of how hard you made this. Additionally there is no acknowledgement of the cold water or yellow water. There are no fireplace amenities and they are showing in the photos which I have attached. I know you tried to hide them and mentioned that to my husband. You also say it's mentioned in the listing "no fireplace amenities" to which we have everything screenshotted and it does not say that. Our check in instructions mention turning the fireplace off when we leave. We received those instructions via email and obviously that would imply otherwise. I think it is fair to have assumed they were available. Again, instead of saying we tried to hide them and our instructions are wrong and we need to redo , you barrel down on excuses and flat out lies. For the dogs I have clearly attached photos proving that not only did I disclose it, my booking was detailed and clear that I had 2 dogs and the reason for my stay. If you look at the photo, it is also pending review to approve. When you approved you had to review that to charge my card. Your charges are over the top, yes, places do charge for that, but your fees are already high. The dogs were not allowed on the bed and they are all of 12" tall and can't get up on a bed. If there is any stains they are from me or my husband, but we were very respectful and cleaned everything and made sure that wasn't a problem. I even brought a black make-up towel as to make sure I didn't wash my face with your white linens. You should be aware you will have guests who will not be so thoughtful and will stain things with much more than mascara. I truly can't imagine these are true statements from your previous reviews and only assume it's just another tactic of yours and its par for the course. I read the listing and even posted picures proving you don't have your polcies listed. They facts don't llie, Chris. I contact your office and never once wanted to speak to you. They insisted I would not get a resolve as they didn't have the authority to make any moves, Had you had another manager or an "acting" supervisor" I wouldn't have had to wait until right before my check-in to get any responses. I never once had an incoming message or call from any of your staff before the above mention call. As you can see your responses just show exactly who you are, how unhelpful unapologetic and honestly defensive you are. I told Brittany multiple times, "Hey I just need this resolved, I know it's not your fault, how can I help you help this situation. Please know I know this lands on the company, I wil wait for your call (which I did) , sorry to bug you.. and so much more). I did tell you I don't want to go down this rabbit hole where we both want to leave bad reviews and can we please just part ways positivity. That was it. Thank you for proving my point. read more

BB&B does not stand by its rentals and when the rental is not as advertised, they do not take any responsibility whatsoever for the unacceptable condition of the rental or their misrepresentations of the rental. They do not even have the decency to offer the slightest discount when the rental is demonstrably NOT what they advertised it to be such as in our case where one of the showers was not even usable. Very bad experience with Bodega Bay and Beyond vacation rentals. Home we rented for 2-day stay was in a very ideal location in Bodega Bay. Reservation taken over the phone one week prior to arrival and all that went smoothly. When we arrived at the home, we were very disappointed with overall cleaning of the unit, both inside and out. Outside deck and dining table area was in dire need of power washing deck, deck railings and dining table, along with a LONG overdue coat of fresh, trash (dirty/old window screens) were just resting along the wall by front door and should have been removed prior to check-in, BBQ cover was so dirty we didn't even want to open or use the BBQ. All of this made a horrible impression as we walked up the stairs to enter the front door. Inside the unit, all of the green dining chairs were filthy dirty with the fabric on the seats completely stained, towels/sheets/bed comforters had dark stains, the water (or fake water) in the silk plant vases was so gross with dead buds, and my husband flipped out when he found a long black dark hair on a supposedly clean dinner plate in the kitchen cupboard. I could go on, but you get the idea. I reached out to management shortly after checking in; manager Chris emailed telling me he could send the cleaning crew over to address these items. No apology offered and no real interest in anything but sending over the cleaning crew to clean what they obviously should have done BEFORE we checked in. Why would we want to take time out of our 2-day stay and stand around pointing out cleaning deficiencies to the cleaning crew? Chris should have come over to see in person what I was talking about. I sent him pictures, so there was no disputing the issues we experienced. After our stay, I called and left a message for Chris. No call back. Several days later, I reached out to owner Thera of Bodega Bay and Beyond. No call back. Disappointing experience with Bodega Bay and Beyond. Would never, ever recommend anyone renting directly from them. At a minimum, they should have refunded our cleaning fee for the problems stated above. read more

My family had planned on tent camping at a nearby campsite, but a couple days before we were to leave a wind advisory was issued. We decided that we didn't want to be cold and, well, miserable during our stay and wanted to find different accommodations. After looking at local hotel availability and cost I decided to look for AirBnB's, and surprise, nothing was available in my price range. SOO, I decided to go another route and just searched for local rentals. I'm SO GLAD I did because I found that Alba, and it just happened to be available for the number of days I needed. The Alba is literally right on the water and is a very spacious Studio. We had super fast Wifi, an over and stove, a fridge, tv, microwave, very comfortable bed, and enough room for the fold out futon and a blow up mattress. Everyone was comfortable and protected from the wind. I turned on the wall heater, but we probably could have gone without because the insulation was excellent. My only issue was that there is literally ONE window (the door out to 1 of 2 porches) that doesn't have a window covering, and that one window just so happens to shine brightly right onto the face of whoever is sleeping next to the front of the home. Either way though we had an excellent stay and will defiantly stay here again in the future. I'm sorry that the others had poor stays, but my first experience was amazing. read more

Tramonto 687 highway 1 0 starts if I could! FALSE ADVERTISING!!! Pictures are old. Yes it's pet friendly, but the smell of URINE is unreal. This place is absolutely discussing. There were NO CLEANING Supplies in the home of any sort, if your pet had an accident or to wipe the counters clean. There were NO extra BLANKETS, besides on the bed. I will never be back. It's nasty The manager Chris was nice, he offered to have house cleaning come by today in the middle of our stay, for another cleaning. She came with a bottle of resolve and a rag. She was unable to remove stains. She ended up covering up the chair and couch with clean Linens. This place is atrocious. They just cancelled our vacation plans due to Covid (we complete understood and we were fine with that) BUT upon THEIR cancellation of our trip they not only sent a form email, they still charged 10% of the trip (not just the house night rate but the additional Covid cleaning, the resort fee, and everything!!!). This cost us hundreds of dollars after only taking the reservation on Jan 2nd and this cancellation being completely out of our control. We've had things cancelled due to Covid throughout the year and not a single hotel/concert venue/establishment EVER put a fee back on us...especially 10% that includes their cleaning fees, resort fees, and fees that we will never even come close to seeing used after only reserving weeks ago! We will never book with this company again. I share this so everyone's aware of their "fine print" and what you'll lose even further is you book here. read more

Horrible. my wife and I booked a 4 day getaway for Thanksgiving 2023. Unfortunately, we got Covid shortly before our arrival date. We tested positive again, and notified the host as soon as we knew. We were too sick to travel, my wife even had to go into the emergency room at the hospital. We had paid nearly $1700 for the 4 night stay. The host refunded $334 right away, as that was the total for taxes and cleaning. Then they returned another $500 stating they were able to rent the place for 2 nights to someone else. So, we received approximately half of our money. They kept $837 of ours, and we got nothing. I guess they are fine with guests showing up with full blown Covid. I could never do that, and put someone in danger. Just imagine if you are someone who is immunocompromised or elderly in bad health and show up to a home that just hours ago had someone very sick with Covid eating, sleeping and spewing Covid all over. Bad business, terribly irresponsible. Just a "head's up" if you're ok with a host with that kind of Covid policy and no regard for their guests well-being. read more

Renting a home from Bodega Bay & Beyond is always a pleasure. Chris, who manages the office, is efficient, friendly, and always available to help if there is an issue. If you want to rent a home in the Bodega Area, I recommend bypassing VRBO or AirBnB and looking at their properties. Their inventory is extensive, and they make things simple. Over the years, I've rented homes from them at least a dozen times, and it's always been a good experience. In the last few months, I've stayed at their properties three times--Ocean Treasure twice and Casa Del Sol. Ocean Treasure is lovely, right in Bodega Harbor. Casa Del Sol is north of the harbor, and the view from this home is gorgeous. If you're looking to rent a house on the coast, check them out. read more

Last week we stayed at a property in bodega Bay managed by Bodega Bay and Beyond. It all went perfectly! Access was easy and went just as they said. Information inside the property was great and we appreciated the coffee provided so that we did not have to worry about getting that for the first morning. Taffy was a nice touch as well! Extremely Disappointed, Arrived at the Kona Cove house for a 7 day stay. The house was completely ant invested, ants in every corner of the house. The fireplaces were not working, the internet was not working, the hot water to the showers was intermittent, the hot tub needed to trip the electrical circuit to work and there were valentine ballons floating in the vaulted ceiling. We arrived a few days after Valentine's Day. Called Chris at Bodega Bay and beyond, absolutely worthless, comes to the house, tells us all of the houses on the golf course have ants, we understand, get a pest service, they don't have one. Trips the circuit for the hot tub, we tell him about the hot water situation, he turns on the hot water, yes there is hot water, no adjusting and it turns ice cold, something is wrong. My daughter in law had to call a pest control company to treat for ants. Chris approved the bill, so they must know they have a problem, Chris was not going to make the effort to call a pest company. Mainsail Manor was a good fit for our family, since there was 10 of us. Even though there is a pool table there we couldn't play pool because all the pool sticks had no tips on them. The spa wasn't clean. There was fungus in the crevices of the jets. Also the propane tank was empty. Good thing we brought our own. We have learned from experience to bring our own. Most of the time the homes have little or no propane for the bbq. Also the morning we left the toilets had brown water coming up. Glad that didn't happen while we were there. I had the pleasure of working with BB&B to help coordinate a stay for myself and my coworkers at the beautifully grand Mainsail Manor. Not only was the home pristine and well appointed for any needs (including coffee beans from a local company for EXCELLENT morning coffee,) the company provided a stunning assortment of treats and snacks for our team (upon request). We used this company again for a stay for my parents, and the company treated them wonderfully, they were extremely helpful and kind to my parents, who had some user-error issues when in the home. They were swift to communicate and assist with any concerns, and the homes that they offer are fairly priced and beautifully maintained. (If you ever need a sizable home in which to entertain, Mainsail Manor or HarborMaster are both great options. We've had the opportunity to stay in both, and depending on your needs, either is a fantastic option for a larger get together. AND they're dog-friendly, which can be so hard to find!) BB&B's website is also pretty comprehensive and easy to use, don't hesitate to reach out to their team for questions or assistance, their responses will impress! read more

Our family rented the "bodega bay sky ranch" to celebrate a 60th birthday. The unit was rented based off the photos and amenities promised, boy were we in for a surprise. Yes, we get it the house is old and we can deal with that. But when the hot tub doesn't work, the steam room doesn't work, the sauna doesn't work and the pool is completely different that what's being shown in the photo, I just don't get it. People vacationing can be a once in a lifetime thing, this company completely misrepresented this property and had no one to help, other than their receptionist in the office to take notes. This is fraud, dishonest and misleading, keep in mind this was about $6,800 for three days. So when you are spending good money, there is an expectation of the services you are going to receive. This is more of a reflection on one of the properties we rented from this place through Airbnb than the actual renting agency, although we didn't not receive a very good response back from them after we told them about our stay - my husband and I recently stayed at their rental "The Alba" in Bodega Bay and had a terrible experience. The house was advertised as overlooking the bay, it was actually overlooking a swampy harbor. The unit was a duplex which we knew about, but the advertisement said we would have the place to ourselves. Other guests came halfway through our stay and the entrance to both units was shared so we thought someone was trying to break in. The unit was right off the highway and next to a burned down/condemned house (it was literally a few feet off the busy highway, we couldn't open our car door without it being in the street). We didn't feel safe being next to the sketchy condemned house, and actually worried about the structural integrity of the lot it was on. The parking was horrible and we had to share with the people staying under our unit which made things very difficult when trying to load/unload a car seat. The place was dirty- had ants, bleach stained linens, filthy couch and carpet. Worst of all was on our last morning there we saw a mouse running from under our bed to the kitchen. There was a constant sound of a horn from a boat? building? lighthouse? idk) every 10 seconds day and night; which made it difficult to relax. The pictures on their ad showed a beautiful bbq area and deck- it was actually all moldy and run down. There was hardly room for two people inside the probably 350 sqft space. Everything was cheap and made for smaller people to use (think quick IKEA makeover), we couldn't open the shower door to get in without having to step over the toilet. Not an ideal spot for a relaxing vacation at all. We had until 11am to check out and we left at 6am, couldn't wait to leave. Disgusted to have wasted so much money on such a bad experience and will never recommend them again. And actually... now that I am thinking about it, I am pretty upset with how the rental agency handled things because when we brought this all to their attention, they said we should have told them when we got there (we didn't have anywhere else to stay and didn't really want to pay for another place after already paying $750 for 2 lousy nights). Then after my husband asked for a partial refund they told us no and that we should have booked directly through them for $150 cheaper :/ We didn't even know we were going to deal with them in the first place. read more

We rented the Yellow Rose. Very cold because the only heat was an electric fireplace. There was a thermostat on the wall that wasn't connected to anything as there's no hvac. We arrived to backed up tub drain and plumbers scheduled to come the next morning. The light in the bathroom was flickering like it was shorting out. The stairs to the fenced yard was a wooden platform with boards just laid down and unsecured so very dangerous. So many weeds in the yard that was supposed to be for dogs, up to our knees including foxtails. Beware! Pretty disappointed since we spent $500 per night when all fees tacked on. I've rented from these guys before with no problems. When I called to complain, I was first told this is a new rental to them. Then the comment was "we've rented this out tons of times with no complaints". They said they would drop off space heaters but never did. Edit, here's the company's response. Pretty awful customer service considering I've rented from them 4 times before..."just getting back to the office and saw the review you had left. The home owner had also reached out (prior to seeing you left a review) and left me a message offering to refund you a substantial portion of the rent due to the issues you experienced during your stay. However, given your public response prior to waiting to hear back from us see if we could reach a solution for your stay, we do not feel like that is the correct decision at this time given that it seems like you already had no intent to book with us or that home in the future." read more

While I understand this company rents out homes on behalf of the actual homeowners they need to take some responsibility in the upkeep as these homes represent their company. This review is specifically for the Devon house. Aside from the excellent view, the quality of the accommodations and the complete disrepair of this property likened it to a crack house in "Hood Central." The view was spectacular however I would've opted to stay several blocks away and not see the ocean then to stay in this dump. My in-laws celebrated a monumental anniversary and rented a home for themselves and a separate home for my husband and our children. I have attached pictures which are worth a thousand words so there's no need for me to explain in detail. I have read some of the so-called reviews on this company's website about this particular property and I find them to be very untruthful or perhaps these folks rented the property about 50 years ago. Very sad. What I failed to take additional pictures of were the pots and pans and other utensils that came with the home to use. I literally had to use towels to handle most of the pots and pans as the handles had fallen off. I have seen pots and pans in better condition at yard sales and thrift stores. On one particular night we skimmed through the Yellow Pages to see if they were any restaurants close by that would deliver. Much to my dismay I saw a propane delivery receipt with the owner's full name and home address and telephone number that someone seemingly shoved in there. What a breach of security and privacy for the homeowner by this rental company! Ironically she does not live very far from our home and for a split second it crossed my mind to call her or visit her and tell her what a dump her rental property was that she collects a hefty amount of cash on every single month! But I took the high road and did no such thing. Don't rent the Devon house or you will be sorry. Shame on this rental company for even renting out this home! Don't believe me? This is our third stay at the Bayview Cottage. The communication with staff before our stays has been great. The cottage has so much room and is set up with comfort. There have only been two of us each time we've been there, but there's room for 4. The kitchen and bathroom have all the supplies needed, if we run out of items. The beds and sofas were comfortable. The outside deck is spacious too. Its centrally located with a nice view of the marina and harbor. We were unable to access the WiFi at the cottage and I did call for help, but no one called me back. There are a couple of things we would like to suggest: 1. There needs to be a toilet paper holder, a standing one will do. It's awkward to reach over or behind you to reach for a roll. 2. Possible grab bars in shower. 3. Kitchen cutlery sparse and miss matched. All in all, we love staying at the cottage. We look forward to staying there again. read more

Those were my positives, however, the quality of the maintenance on the home was where my review derived the one star from. Service has gone down hill in the last few years. We have two groups that rent houses in Bodega Bay and have been doing this for the last 16 years, usually (4) times a year. Prompt attention to a problem is key when you are paying for a house. Wasn't impressed with the service. On a positive note, some of the houses have been updated, which is appreciated. read more

We all daydream about this place, and I'm not kidding. My bro and my new sister got married in lovely Bodega Bay over the summer. This new pair of newlyweds are Einsteins in my book because they calculated the perfect abode to spend a week at before and after their awesome wedding: a rental from Bodega Bay & Beyond. When we arrived to Bodega Bay, we turned into a neighborhood of homes in a golf community. The ocean-themed villas all looked stunning. When we approached our home for the week, all of our jaws in the deck. Our rental was HUGE with two bedrooms, an awesomely large living room/dining room/kitchen, and a cool deck with a barbecue and a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was used just about every night. From the deck we had a nice view of Pinnacle Gulch (http://www.yelp.com/biz/pinnacle-gulch-beach-access-bodega-bay). Economically, we couldn't complain. Staying here for a week and sharing expenses amongst our group would probably be close to what it would have been to stay at a hotel. We rented the Harbor Master 2 property for use during our daughter's wedding at The Secret Garden in Bodega Bay. This property is within a short walk to the The Secret Garden, so it is an excellent choice if you are using that venue. Our daughter rented a house right down the hill and a few houses over, so she and her friends could walk up to our house. This house is spacious, and it worked out perfectly to have family and friends stay with us. It has two large tables to eat at, and we also used the space to prepare some craft projects for the wedding. The entrance hall is large and we were able to store a large amount of wedding supplies there to take to organize and transport to the venue. The house was very clean and had more cooking utensils and supplies than anyone could ever use! The laundry room was very handy with all of the people staying there. I didn't realize before our trip that you have to go outside to access the hot tub, but we still enjoyed it very much. The only down side to our stay was that the mattress in the master bedroom upstairs was so hard and uncomfortable that we bought a pillow topper for the bed so we could sleep better. There were only a few hangers in the house, so I also bought some for us to use. There should be plenty now because we left them behind. read more

Bodega Bay (the location, not the rental agency) was awesome. The house we rented in the golf course neighborhood was older and some of the windows were inoperable and furniture a bit dirty. Not a big deal and something one would expect with normal wear and tear. Another thing was the spa. The jets weren't really working. Again not a big deal. We used the spa for a total of about 1 hour over a 3 day stay. Post trip, I got an email stating that we owe $100 to clean the spa. Really? I called and the owner of BB&B mentioned why didn't I notify them the jets weren't working? LOL. I'm not high maintenance and with an older spa, this happens. This feels very much like an erroneous and nickel and dime type charge. Things happen. I see another similar complaint so there is the chance this isn't a one off issue. I asked Airbnb to look into BB&B to make sure they aren't exhibiting a trend of frivolous charges. I'll be staying in Bodega Bay again soon but certainly not with BB&B unfortunately. read more

Beware: this company has no problem advertising properties with amenities that are out of service or unavailable, and they'll even lie to you about it. Anyone who has searched for somewhere to stay for a trip knows that sometimes you come across a place that doesn't necessarily check all your boxes, but has that one thing going for it that drives the buying decision. That was the case with why I booked with Bodega Bay & Beyond: one of their homes was listed with an outdoor hot tub with a beautiful view of the Russian River. BB&B knows very well this is the home's main selling point and they tout it proudly (a photo of the tub and view is the first featured image on the listing). I specifically asked about the hot tub while confirming my booking over the phone and was assured everything was in working order. Turns out that wasn't true, as I arrived at the home to find a lukewarm tub with none of the controls functioning. I tried going on the internet for troubleshooting tips, only to then discover the home's Wi-Fi wasn't working, either. This was a big inconvenience because I did not get cell reception in the area and relied on Wi-Fi to make calls/texts, check email, or research things to do. I called BB&B's office the next morning (through the home's spotty landline) to report these issues. I then had to sacrifice my vacation time to being on the phone with HughesNet technical support trying to resolve the internet problem (spoiler alert: they couldn't fix it, and I ended up without Wi-Fi access for the entire duration of my stay). BB&B was able to get someone out to the look at the hot tub the same day, but by the time it was fixed in the late afternoon, half of my 3-night stay was already over. It baffles me that Bodega Bay & Beyond thinks it's okay to list a property for rent and take a customer's money without doing a basic check-up to make sure all the features are working as promised. If a rental company is trying to keep up with maintenance while guests are literally in the middle of their stay, they have SCREWED UP TREMENDOUSLY. So you may be thinking, what did they offer me in return for having to deal with this blatant false adverting and frustration? A measly 10% refund--nothing more. What a joke.
