This review is for the restaurant at dinner. We did not stay at the hotel. I would suggest not eating dinner here. It's way over priced and not much food. I guess if you are rich and only care about presentation you will like it. My wife and I came here for our anniversary and it sucked. I couldn't be more disappointed. I got the elk and it had no flavor. The potato that came with it was terrible. My wife got chicken and it was awful also. Don't waste your money here at the restaurant. This is the most disappointing nice meal I've ever had.

One of the notable hotel and restaurant in Cloudcroft's history is The Lodge Resort, still known as " The Lodge ". It was constructed in 1899 as a luxurious mountain retreat for railroad passengers. It has become an iconic landmark in the village and they used to serve a mean brunch. It appears the new management eliminated that brunch altogether. The Lodge's original building has been recently renovated and it shows a unique blend of Victorian and Southwest architecture. But the bear and the moose's head are still standing, The Lodge has preserved its historic charm and is still haunted by the presence of Rebecca who may come and murmur something to you. The Lodge offers great relaxation and escape into nature. I had one of the best Rib Eye (16oz) and an insanely good Caesar salad with some fresh anchovies made in front of you. Service was good but nothing happens in a rush here. So arm yourself with patience as after all you here to relax....

A lovely old girl, a bit worn around the edges. Our room was comfortable, the staff was pleasant. I was surprised to see the "pool" could only accommodate 10 guests. Cloudcroft itself is a tiny little town, undergoing what, I sure, due to the climate, is it's summer maintenance. Would I return? Only if I were traveling through that way again.

I'm rounding my review from a 3.25 to a 4 instead of a 3 for the sake of honesty. My family has had a cabin in Cloudcroft for quite some time and we were so excited when the Duncan's took over the lodge. We've known them from their other hotels in West Texas and the restaurants they've helmed. It's always unfortunate that good help is so hard to come by these days and I truly believe that is the issue here. This review is only for Rebecca's restaurant and not the lodging or amenities since we only come to dine from our cabin as a treat. While the menu is limited, and the service is a hit or miss, this time the service was great but the food was sub par. My parents each ordered the Pistachio crusted Trout and I had the King Salmon Ceasar Salad. The salmon was very overcooked but I still enjoyed my salad. My parents plates were both very cold, almost chilled. The server discounted our ticket because of the quality of the food, although our bottle of Drumheller Cab was nice. Of course we'll be back even though we never truly know what to expect as we always want to support the local businesses of the village.

We woke up to this. Beautiful!

Charming. Historic. Ever so slightly shabby chic, as in built in 1911, but not run down. Old old luxury feel. It's warm and friendly, and I'll return in the summer to experience the golf course. Our room was so nice, beds and linens super nice. Heated bathroom floor. Stellar service staff.

Delicious food, I had the steak, my wife had fish. Atmosphere was great & service attentive. I accidentally left my CC there & got a call later that they still had it. Fortunately I was less than 5 minutes away.

Had the nicest time here! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! They told us a bit of the history of this lodge as well as gave us a key to explore the tower! I recommend going up there for the sunrise or sunset! Absolutely stunning! We had such a great time exploring the lodge and learning the history! Such a cozy place!

The lodge is an older hotel that has been lovingly restored and is a surprise in the tiny town of Cloudcroft. Even with covid, they've managed to find good employees who are happy to be there, are attentive and friendly. At lunch, my dining companion had the Monte Cristo sandwich and reported it was delicious. Honestly it was one of the largest sandwiches I think I've ever seen! Since we were there on Saint Patrick's day, we had to share the greenvelvet cake. It's a very pretty little hotel, and I suggest stopping by if you are in Cloudcroft.

This is a classic, historical resort and spa. It's iconic for the area and almost every New Mexican will recognize it! I love the gift shop and all of their local goodies! We have been here multiple times and came in today to have dinner at their beautiful restaurant, Rebecca's. The hotel is decorated for the holidays and it is stunning! It is the epitome of small town charm. Ask them about their seasonal murder mystery! The entire town participates and it is amazing!

Prices are crazy high too. My son was injured at the end of the day and we had to take him to the local ER. Needless to say, we were not able to return the equipment rentals but were assured by the medic at the ski resort that he would take it back for us. Shame on me for trusting him because he returned it three days later. All the while, the owner of ski palace then called and threatened to send me to court for the three days the equipment was not turned in if I didn't pay him $40 for the time he lost on renting the equipment. I understand that this is his livelihood, but when I stated that I wanted to contact the ski resort (before I agreed to pay the $40) just to find out why it wasn't turned in on time, he became irate and told me if I contacted the ski resort about this then I could forget about paying him $40 and he would charge me $140 instead. What the heck?? We ended up paying him $40, never heard back from anyone at the ski resort and the ski palace also ran my debit card without my authorization for an additional $8. My family and I will never do business with the ski palace or ski Cloudcroft again. In my opinion, it's a crooked business they are running and I'd rather go where the customer is appreciated and not treated like they're a dime a dozen.
