I have had a bad experience staying in a hostel but my wife had never experienced one before. After some convincing we ended up booking with this hostel, and let me tell you I'm so glad we did! It was a very comfortable stay. Everyone respected everyone. We stayed in a private room and the bed was very comfortable. The hostel is right off the main road but surprisingly it was pretty quiet. We slept with the window open and had no problems. The hostel was very clean and the grounds were very well kept. Stephanie was very nice and communicative with us from the time of booking and throughout or stay. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended to some friends.

Upon arrival the front desk tried to tell us that we did not have a reservation. The front desk girl (who was nice) called, what I assume was the manager, who argued with us over speaker phone. The manager was rude and giving us attitude saying that we had cancelled our reservation. My husband pulled out our confirmation email and showed it to them. Long story short we ended up with the very last room available. The front desk was unsure the room was even available and had to go up to the room to make sure no one was in it. Once we were finally checked in we realized the pool was out of commission. It said "closed for renovations" but no reno's were in progress. We headed up to our room which looked nice upon first glance but was not nice at all. The tile on the bathroom floor was missing grout and the tile moved around when you walked on it. The shower looked dirty and I didn't even want to put my feet on the tub without flip flops. The air vent looked like it hasn't been cleaned since the hotel opened. The remote to the TV didn't work and again, the room had a dirty feel to it. The only nice part of this hotel is the lobby and its huge fish tank.

The night shift team member was fantastic, welcomed my ESA, and showed us to the snacks I was able to devour my snacks, relax, and unwind a bit. Upon leaving, I had to deal with some of the circumstances I found myself in on the way to the hotel (again, I'm really blaming Mercury here) and the staff was accommodating af. I can't think of a single bad thing I encountered during my stay. It was the most calm part of my entire trip. Would absolutely stay here again. They even offered sleds for White Sands!!

I asked if there was anything on the top (3rd) floor and the front desk tried calling house keeping to confirm if a room was ready. She couldn't get a hold of her by phone so she set off to personally locate her. Anyway, long story short we were able to get our top floor room. Both women working the front desk were soooo nice. They had sleds that we could borrow and take to White Sands. One of the ladies was so cute. She kept encouraging my almost 70 year old mother to do the sledding. (She did it!) They had a pretty nice selection of food for (complimentary) breakfast. We stayed at a Hyatt Regency in ABQ and they had no breakfast unless you wanted to pay for room service or go to the sit-down restaurant. The room istelf was clean and the beds were comfortable. No complaints. Totally recommend staying here.

Right near the exit door. With a window looking out on the parking lot. I did not feel safe all night. No bars on the windows. People walking by all night. Creepy AF.
