The staff here is incredibly rude. We lived here for only a year and they didn't renew our lease…read morenor did they give us a reason why they didn't renew our lease. We had many people prop the outside apartment building door open with vapes, straws, rocks, etc. it made us feel unsafe and all they said was "oh yeah that happens all the time" if it happens all the time why even give a key to the apartment building door in the first place????! WILL NEVER RECOMMEND EVER the only nice thing about this place was the pool and even that kinda sucked. The pool was almost always dirty with leaves like they never had someone come clean it. I think they had someone clean it once while we were there. This place sucks. For the price you'd think they'd be better but fuck this place.

Governor Mifflin apartments are some of the most poorly maintained buildings I've ever been in, and…read morethe people they allow to move in are borderline barbaric in the amount of noise they generate and how inconsiderate they are of other residents. In addition, the company is nickel and diming me on my way out, charging me a late fee for my lease ending because I did it two days late of the allotted 60 day lead time. Not only are these apartments overpriced for what you get, the amount of noise generated from all surrounding apartments is beyond unacceptable. There is very little insulation between each vertical unit, and you can hear screaming kids across the hallway without any difficulty even when you're all the way in the back of your own unit. I can even hear my neighbors upstairs when they're peeing in the bathroom all the way from in my living room! "Are you serious!?" Why yes, yes I am! There are also very few overhead light fixtures in places where you would need them. The bedroom does not have a light and you need to provide your own; same with the living room. The dining area which is open to the living does have a light, though, but it's not placed center enough to light both spaces. The kitchenette is also an embarrassment. They have the cheapest coil electric stove they could buy, and the refrigerator is no different in quality. My oven needs to be set 25 degrees over all recommended temperature settings because it's so antiquated. There is almost no counter space for preparing food, and what little space you have, it is consumed by typical kitchen items like a microwave. The floor in my base level unit is clearly uneven because of cracks within the foundation. This just goes with their whole theme of not maintaining the building but wanting to get people in as fast as possible with little care of quality or safety. They care about making money, but they don't care about providing a quality living space. The company couldn't care less if you feel safe and secure within your living space. At the end of the day, between the noise, the neighbors being savages, and the poor maintenance of the building and units in general, I would never recommend this place to anyone who needs a place to live. I wouldn't even recommend it if rents were halved across the board. My rent increases by four percent every year, and the building has become more and more intolerable to live in over the years. Once I move out in a month, I won't miss this place. If anyone I know or come across thinks about moving in here, I will forewarn them of what they would be getting into if they made the poor choice of actually moving in here. You could argue that it's just me being bitter after my exit, but the reality is that the apartments speak for themselves. They are a disgrace. I would go on to say that I bet the buildings wouldn't even pass inspection. I don't feel safe living here.

they basically PAY for their reviews. they deleted them off google if you leave a bad review…read more cockroaches from I wouldn't even say neighbors I think this place just is infested!!!! takes 2-4 weeks just to TALKED TO regarding main slips, no one ever replies, they show up in your place when you stated NO ENTRY WITHOUT PERMISSION. I never lived somewhere YOU HAVE TO DO AUTOPAY. sinks are CLOGGED!!! BADLY, spiders everywhere they don't even clean the main entry of buildings there is Cobb webs every corner of wall and step. def a one year lease kind of place, I can't wait to see the day this place gets sued for CODES. no vents anywhere in the apartment so don't worry you can smoke crack!!!! no one will smell, no renov in YEARS they care more about outside appearance than happy tenants

I lived here throughout my time in College in 2018-2020 and I must say I did not have the best…read moreexperience. Con: I am a neat freak so I always kept my apartment clean and organized. When living here, I noticed that something was wrong with my toilet seat and called the office to see if someone was able to come, no one ever came so I had to take it upon myself to replace the toilet seat. This was the only issue I had BUT when I went to move out, I was charged with over $3000 worth in "damages". I sent over photos of every single aspect of the apartment (appliances included) and still, they decided to try to take money from me. Of course, I fought it and was not charged but this was horrible. Pro: Nice neighborhood, rent was low, and it was a good space for a young couple.

HAVE THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT CHECK FOR MICE AND LEAD BEFORE MOVING IN THERE!!! YOU WILL GET VERY SICK FROM ALL THE MICE DROPPING AND LEAD!! Our bathroom floor was lifting up, I put a work order in and maintenance followed up the next day pulled the floor up and replaced it with new flooring the following day. The maintenance man that did our repairs was Jeremy, I can't say enough great things about him he's always very friendly, respectful, and always makes sure your happy with the repairs before he leaves. Any repairs I've put work orders in for are always completed in a timely manner and all of the maintenance guys do a great job and are very friendly! Friendly but, over charge, you get a gas bill in the apartment complexes name so your charged a service fee which makes the bill double for them to tell you what you owe instead of the bill coming to you. The sneak in a Market new lease and increase your rent every year so expect yearly increases. My rent started at $1185.00 October of 2019 today I received a new lease and they now have increased it to $1,701.00 plus your $100.00 water and sewage based on what your building uses not you as an individual so you pay a piece of what everyone uses. Also don't forget to include the Gas bill they don't tell you about either that you pay for which if it was my own personal bill might be about $35.00 dollars but, since your paying a portion of what your building uses I have to pay between $132.00 - $150.00. So add these extras to what you think your rent will be. Plus of course the bills you do expect power, cable, phone but, those you know about.. I'm talking about the ones they sneak in!!! Also know before moving in here you will need a door camera they rent to state housing the transition homes people that just got out of jail or prison so those are your neighbors. The beg for money, ask for food, break into you vehicles etc. Also the building are infested with mice.. Get a cat!!! They send pest control and they give you these little white houses that don't work because, these mice have been here for years! The pest control guys will tell you this.. Also these reviews they give you 25.00 dollars if you put one on here!!

The place is small, hasn't been updated since the early 90's, no professional services provided,…read moreshe has has an elderly man taking care of all maintenance which is not adequate or professional work. Floors scratched beyond repair, closet doors off the hinges from the late 20th century. The quality of the place is not why this review is being written. The landlord often calls tenants in the morning, (before 9 am) to ask for favors like package delivery for other tenants, trash collection from other tenants, and there is no choice in this matter. Ive lived here one full year, paid my rent on time every month, and dealt with these insignificant requests from the landlord. I woke up from a call from the landlord, requesting I take down all the trash from the apartment, even though I just took down 3 additional cans Monday (it's Friday) to try to help out with the situation before it was too bad. I tell her "Sure I'll do it!" She says some things about the issue and says "have it done immediately", says thanks and hangs up. She woke me up with a disrespectful and demeaning tone, I'm not on her payroll to dispose of the whole apartments waste. I told her this after I took down most of the cans She's taking advantage as a landlord to 'get back' at a tenant who has never broken the lease (honestly is the main person who takes care of the trash). Her accusations are false and have no merit, I take my can to the curb and at least one additional can for a neighbor each week, I have missed a week here or there but nothing worth noting. This is an obvious abuse of power and the landlords malice is disheartening. To see anyone, especially someone who's privileged and has accrued wealth from milking these properties and putting next to nothing into them. Someone who's owned this 'Money Maker' in West Reading for years use her 'power' to kick out a student out of a overpriced apartment. I will probably leave when she wants me to as I cannot be set back any further in my schooling or my career path, but if you have the option, reconsider this apartment.
