So on a vacation and going through La Grand Oregon looking for a place to eat and we stumbled onto this place and I'd say is a gem of a place. I'd also say the food was fantastic and well I'd say make sure you do stop here. Sometimes I say a lot . We sat at the bar in the back and well that's the place to sit. The bar tender was absolutely great, very nice and really friendly. I feel bad I have no pictures but I can say this. One of the best breakfast I've had in a long, long time. If you're a breakfast connoisseur like me you too would have this outcome. Actually the lighting wasn't bad at all in the back and it's well lit in the front. We were trying to figure out what to do this Friday evening. A friend from out of town called and stated she was a few minutes from our house and if we wanted to go to dinner. Of course, this caught us off guard that she was in town. Anyways, she stated her and her husband love this sandwich place in Monroe. A sandwich place that's seriously how she describes it. So, we followed her to Monroe, and we turned into the paring lot of said sandwich shops. Longbranch is where we ended up. And et me tell you, sandwich shop it is not. The building started off as a museum and evolved into a brewery and restaurant. The building is beautiful, made from local lumber. It reminded me of a ski log. We get inside, and with it being Friday, there is a little bit of a wait. No big deal. Spent the time marveling at the old lumber equipment. We get to our table, and this is where our experience went up a notch. The waitress (Reilly) gave us the menus and water and asked if we would like anything else to drink. I saw they had some sort of pumpkin type alcohol drink. So, I figured I'd start off with that. The lemon drop sounded good also, but that is for later. We ordered the quesasilla and pretzel bites. Our drinks came, and so did the apps. I can not tell which was better, they where both equally delicious. Our meals can shorting afterward. I got the Timber burger. Wow, my taste buds were in for a treat. So, et me first mention two bad things before I go into the awesome stuff. The chair I sat at was very uncomfortable. Like, extremely. And my burger came a side, and I picked the coleslaw. I was really disappointed in the coleslaw. Like, very disappointed. My burger, though, to absolutely die for. If I were to die tonight, I would be happy. That burger was heaven on a bun. This is getting very long. This place is definitely 100% worth every singe penny we paid for this dinner. Today was the second time we stopped here for lunch in 4 days. Once a late lunch at 3:30 and today was 11:30. These guys are more popular than you'd think for a tiny town. The food was good. The first day I had a burger (which I rarely do). It was so good!! The beef flavor was excellent! My husband also loved his and his fries were tasty. Today I tried the ultimate grilled cheese with baked beans for a side. Also good. I probably won't get it again cuz it's pretty fatty but I wanted to try it. I think the beans were homemade. The funny thing is that when your meal comes you might think it's small. However I, (with a big appetite), couldn't finish all of it and my husband (who got an extra patty this time) couldn't even finish his!! I've been here a few times but it's been at least a year. Wow have they upped their food quality! Smoke stack was just ridiculously good and easily split between two people (with forks and knives). We will be back for that alone. The loaded up fries were also plentiful and didn't skimp on the toppings. Atmosphere is a brewery and it feels like it. We knew what to expect from the outside. We arrived around 3:30pm on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy. Our server came over and kindly took my hungry and tired child's order right away while I looked through the menu. Food was good. I had the ono tacos and she had chicken strips (see pictures). Fast service, nice restaurant (clean bathrooms). Ok well I went here again and: the quesadilla is quite good and they also have a grilled cheese option, so there are a couple things for veg heads, and I can't quite stress how strikingly nice the building is. I've made it here twice and the service has been extremely slow each time. Our server seemed more interested in drinking with a few of her friends and flirting with a fella than refilling our drinks and taking our orders in a timely manner. The food, for the price, is a bit underwhelming. I don't think the cook knows the difference between medium and medium rare but honestly in this area, that's pretty common. One of my friends ordered an entree I'm forgetting the name of and the protein was burnt black. Even after sending it back, they received another charred chunk of meat that was inedible. Though the wait for food can be pretty long at times. But shooott, I'd sit in there and wait for 2 hours, if it meant I could once more stuff my pie-hole with that sweet sweet heap of beautiful, glorious, penne mac n cheese. I'm from out of town and this was a halfway point to meet some friends here on a Monday. Judy was our tender/server and provided 5-star service. She had a great personality and played along with some shenanigans even though she was super busy. She didn't skip a beat. The food was really good, including a nice, fresh garden salad and, seems silly but, great brewed iced tea (I was DD so I didn't drink alcohol.) We went at lunchtime. It's a tiny bar and restaurant in a tiny town, so there's no real competition. I am not sure if that helps them or hinders the quality. Employees are OK, nothing special, but I have no real complaints either. The last time I was in, the bartender didn't know what a Tom Collins drink was (gin with sweet and sour) and had to look it up. I wasn't terribly impressed by this, but they found it in a recipe book and made it without a problem. The food leaves something to be desired, as it isn't a 5 star dining experience. But they do have pretty decent food. I can honestly make the same thing or better at home. When I go out, I'm typically looking for something better than I can do at home, but sometimes quick and easy win the day. It's a place I've been going to off and on for a solid ten years now. Seriously had the best lunch of my life today at the Longbranch. I fell in love with their signature sandwich! The outdoor seating was super nice, my dog loved it and our service from Xtina was seriously perfect. 10/10 all around. We strolled in 20-min before closing.... they were sweeping up and getting ready to head home. The 2 ladies at the bar let us know we had limited time, but welcomed us in. What a cool little bar! Super clean, nice and fun. Our bartenders were GREAT! Wow, what a great option for this part of the valley. Food was supper. Some of the best chili I have had at any restaurant. My wife loved the salad with fresh seasonal vegetables. I am teetering here between stars, for various reasons. We go here quite a bit with our friends on ride nights. We will often call ahead of time to make sure they can accommodate our big crowd. So I would like to give them 4 stars on that. When we come in I feel bad because the server I feel is often short staffed, and is working her rear end off, so yes the service has been slow, but we come in a pack. (Not her fault) Now for my drink I wish it was better, I am just not sure if there is not a lot of bartender training? I usually get lemon drops, or vodka lemonade. I really wish I drank beer, so that it was not hard to screw up. The food, I have had a few different things here, it is hit and miss. I really like the broasted chicken. I had high hopes for the fajita's because I had seen our friend get them the time before, and I got them last time and to be honest I thought they lacked in flavor. Some of their sandwiches are good, but I quit eating bread. So that is a no go for me now. There really is not a whole lot to chose from, on the menu, and in the area. All in all, it is a beautiful ride out to Monroe on a nice night to grab a bite to eat. read more

We came in today STARVING!! I saw the 4 star rating and the 1 $ on here and thought it would be a great place to stop. I'll start by saying the service was really good. The ladies were busting their asses and never stopped smiling. BUT we waited over an hour for our food. The Salad I got was wet and was definitely on its last day. My husband's burger was not very good (he got the Longbranch) the bun was to big compared to the little burger and the jo-Jo's were drenched in grease. I got the philly, and that was okay. As well as daily & weekly specials. Taco tuesday, Friday & Saturday Prime Rib, Enchilada Thursdays. The taco's are pretty darn good, better than most greasy spoon taco tuesdays. It is PACKED on tuesdays. The burgers are okay. They are huge, over dressed usually, and greasy. Super greasy food, but good if you're in the mood for that. The Long Branch Burger is good, with grilled onions and peppers, bacon, and gaucamole. The Western Burger with onion rings and BBQ sauce is my fave. Onion rings are good. The fries are soggy, even if you request crispy. Sandwiches are pretty decent, reubens, etc. Tacos are good. Taco salad is pretty tasty. Breakfast is super heavy, greasy spoon type. Big portions. Called in an order for a club sandwich and some jo-jos to go. Server was friendly over the phone. Went in to pick up my order -- interior is simple and clean and not super big (maybe 10-12 tables and a good-size bar). Top of the bar is pretty cool with a long piece of wood with LongBranch etched/painted onto it. Food was ready and tasty. Jo-jo's were nothing to write home about, but the sandwich was good. Pricing was not bad for the food quality. I will be back! For those with kids, it looks like a bar, but was well lit and didn't feel "seedy" -- I would take a family there for lunch or an early dinner. Several months ago we re-discovered this place and decided to give it a go. My husband used to live in Junction City and was here every Friday night. We have now been back four times. We can eat on the back patio and enjoy the weather. The waitresses are on top of it. No delays from eating out back to eating inside. Their beer and hard cider selections are great.
