Tony and I stopped here for lunch after our hike before heading into Texas. The restaurant is located on the lake and is in a beautiful setting. The entrance is like you are going into a cave entrance...clapping hands for imagination...that is very unique entrance. Inside decore is with old mining theme. Tony and I had a nice lunch. He had a burger and I ordered a small cheese pizza for us to share. The food was good. I had a tea and Tony had a beer. The view of the lake was amazing. This place is a hidden gem. Very spacious; perfect for field trips, weddings, family and large events. It's by accident that I found this place and I'm glad I did. I couldn't stop smiling at how cool this place is. Belle was my server and she was absolutely amazing! It was a cold weekend, so rather than grilling at our yurt we ate at the restaurant a couple of times. Called in an order for breakfast. Walked over and it was ready to go. We both had the breakfast sandwich with sausage. It came with a sausage patty and a large sausage link split in half. It was good, but honestly could have done without the link, and I wish the bread had been buttered. The next night we had dinner there. She had the onion burger and I got the fried fish. Both with fries. The fries were way overcooked. Catfish was really good with good seasoning. The server did not ask how we wanted the burger cooked and it came out on the medium side, which is normally how we would order it. Everyone was really friendly. The inside of the dining room is kind of bare with just a few paintings on the walls and a tv. Overall a decent restaurant and I'm sure we will eat there again read more

This place has the making of another abandoned chain restaurant written on the front and center of the location, the lack of effort by maintenance and management is depressing as I have been here multiple times with nothing positive to even write here. This place is a corpse of what could have been and it doesn't let you forget that, you cannot expect a burger fry cafe to make any impact whatsoever and pretend it's a dining experience. Just go into Wilburton and pretend you didn't see it, that alone will benefit someone that needs your business. State park management you have something to figure out. We seldom had a wait staff member come check on us. We asked three different staff members for ranch dressing and finally after asking one of them a third time they brought us ranch. They were out of basic supplies such as lettuce on hamburgers. We waited 1 hour for our food and on top of that two of the cheeseburgers were raw in the middle. When the person who I am assuming is the manager brought the two burgers back out she told our table that she gave the cook a good "grillin". Most of the food was good. read more

The setup was neat. Mine themed, entrance and exit are like going into a cave. The food though. We both had 2 meat bbq. The ribs were so salty you could barely stand to eat one. They were tender and smoked well but either salt brine or seasoning was VERY overpowering saltiness. Not tasty on bbq at all! Hubby had double brisket and I got brisket with ribs. The brisket was ok but a little dry. Okra was good, hubby got loaded mashed potatoes and they were ice cold. Service was not bad, server was very kind and we left a generous tip. I called about 30 minutes before close not knowing, but within 10 minutes they had a 18 inch pizza ready. Super fresh ingredients and the chicken was so seasoned and perfectly grilled, the dough/crust was crispy and cooked to perfection. Easily the best pizza sauce I've had on a pizza. Staff was very attentive and friendly, quick and easy pick up. Will forsure hit this spot for breakfast lunch or dinner everytime I'm here!! read more

I recently visited Robber's Cave for the first time in several years and was very impressed by the upgrade of the restaurant! We felt welcome from the moment we arrived! The food was amazing after a long day on the water kayaking. Just what we needed. They made us feel like family! The manager Brad came to our table and spoke with us and was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He does a great job and his staff was wonderful! The bbq was some of the best we have ever had and the special Carolina bbq sauce they make in house was next level knock your socks off! Wish they sold it to take some home! My husband was happy with the beer selection and they also have mixed drinks that sounded divine. I will try one next trip! Bravo on all the improvements in the park! This is a gem! read more

We had a big group at noon on Saturday. They sat us fast and the service was great. Dorothy handled all the split tickets without a problem. Food was timely and good. Restaurant filled up quickly after us but they seemed to manage it well. Would definitely come back. read more

Food was OK. We ordered 2 pizzas, 2 salads, 2 teas 1 water, 1 house red wine, 1 margarita and a mozzarella cheese appetizer. One pizza was done the second one not. Service was slow, same as it has been in the previous times we were there. We finally had to ask for plates, adult beverages and our salads after the pizza (which took 45 minutes) had been at our table for 10 minutes. The view was beautiful from the outdoor deck as usual. The price tag was quite high for the above for $105. I keep hoping it will get better. read more

Lookout for your pocket book! Way too pricey for what you get! Lots of hidden prices. You don't get what you think you're getting. The service was so so. The place looks really nice and great views. But $52.63 for two grilled chicken dinners is way too much! read more

My large family and I tried going on a Saturday in March 2024 but was met by a lady that offered her experience. She stated that she and her large family had been there for over 4 hours and still hadn't received all their food. We left but came back the next day (Sunday) to experience for ourselves. We waited for almost an hour to be seated even though there was only a few patrons there. We ordered breakfast, because they were out of other menu items. I have never in my 47 years had a bad breakfast, but on this day, I did. We might try this again for dinner at some point but probably not anytime soon. read more

Second time camping at Robber's Cave this year. My family and I enjoyed a phenomenal meal at The Lookout Kitchen after a long day of hiking! The pizza was delicious, the sides were top notch, and the ribeye was one of the best steaks my dad and I have ever had! There was a slightly longer wait than usual for food to arrive. However, this is expected with any new business and the food certainly made up for it. 10/10!! We will be back!! read more

First chance to stop since the reopening. Our view of the lake from the patio was spectacular. The burger was the best I've had in a long time. The service was even better. The place looks okay and the staff try really hard to provide good service. My server was sweet and friendly, but the food was not good at all. I ordered the dipping trio as an appetizer: the queso was barely warm, the guacamole had no flavor, but the salsa wasn't bad. I asked the server what I should order between the chicken fried steak, barbecue dinner, or ribeye. Before she could answer, someone came up and informed her that they were out of brisket. I decided on the ribeye ($33 on menu, $35 on the ticket) with loaded mashed potatoes. I've had some great steaks in the process range but this one didn't come with a salad, which I laughed about. When the steak came out, it was extremely rare, so I asked if it could get out back on the grill. The mashed potatoes were cold and bland, the cheese not even melting at all. When my steak came back, it was between rare and medium rare, so okay, but no flavor to it. The outside has begun to burn before the inside cooked, which should be a simple fix to anyone who's cooked a steak. The manager was friendly and apologetic, though, and discounted the appetizer for the inconvenience. I was grateful but then the check came and was still $50. Apparently there is a ten percent Wilburton tax, up charge for the loaded potatoes (maybe on the menu but no discussion - I just didn't see it), and $4 for the tea, which was pretty good. I had hoped that this place would be great and do well, but I don't think people are going to pay the prices once the novelty wears off and the food quality isn't going to keep them coming back. read more
