I wish I could use the appropriate adjectives to describe this place. The gentleman that you will have to deal with who answers the phones there is obviously completely disconnected with the inner workings of this place, so you will certainly get the runaround, . Suffice to say that the Lord is nowhere to be found here! read more

WWJD? They reject good donations you are willing to give them that they could sell for hundreds of dollars. Seems like their employees/truck drivers play games with donors, they do not want to take furniture, maybe it is heavy or be bothered to lift it or rearrange things in their truck to fit the items. They take photos first and send to the manager to accept or reject your donations. They seem ungrateful and forgetting their purpose to receive and to give for the homeless. It may be best to donate to Goodwill, Faith Farm, or Habitat for Humanity. They seem very fussy here, they only want your brand new donations. We were shocked and taken back. Just wanted to be honest and let others know about this organization. A huge disappointment to us. We won't go to their stores, try to donate again, or speak highly of them now. read more

I have to say it. This place has the highest prices of any thrift store in Palm Beach County (and we've tried them all). I went this weekend and saw a pair of shoes I had wanted six months ago -- still there because they were priced so high. Someone needs to tell them that receiving a more modest sum for items is actually better than having stuff on the shelves collecting dust. They also sell quite a few Tommy Bahama shirts for the same price you can get them brand new. It's a fiasco. Once in a while I'll find something without the dreaded "special price" but that's rare. They are priced like a Worth Ave store except they are on Dixie Ave in a low-income neighborhood. Our nickname is "The Lord's Ripoff." read more

Crystal Dole is extremely rude. Was going to donate a brand new 7 piece bedroom set with the tags still on it and a brand new 14 inch Elite mattress and box spring from Ashley furniture to the Lord's place. She couldn't have been more rude. Agreeing to come pick up the donation and then backing out last minute. Refusing to give me her phone number so that I could speak with her about it and would only email. She was extremely rude and I will never donate to this place and I have an entire house of new furniture to donate. I guess they don't need donations that bad if they are uncooperative and rude. Especially since it's a brand new with the tags still on it. read more

Horrible prices. Tommy Bahama men's shirt $50. Over priced artwork which they have marked 50% off. The average artwork is 75 so it's 30 to 40 dollars. marjan set $100 said it was bakerlite, but it was clearly celluloid with no box. No negotiations. Also there was a dead cockroach in a vase. Yuck read more

Today my Fiancee and I was packing up my apartment for our move next week to our home. I wanted to donate my clothes to goodwill but she wanted to donate them to the Joshua Thrift Store which is apart of the ( The Lords Place). So we called them because we were in the area.It was approximately 4:28 pm. The guy that answer the phone said that they are closing in 20 minutes. My Fiancee advised the guy that we have a few garbage bags full of clothes and shoes that are pretty nice and that some of the homeless men can use for themselves such for interviews etc. So the guy kept saying to my fiancee that they close in 20 minutes. So my fiancee said that some other shelter will be happy to have these clothes. So the guy said well do that then. Like he didnt care. I was very disappointed with his attitude.I know he doesn't represent the organization.I guess he is happy that he has a job. So I went ahead and donated my clothes to goodwill. People like him need to have compassion for their job or be removed for someone else that truly cares for the less fortunate. read more

I contacted The Lords Place to pick up the contents of my home. Crystal responded right away with all the details and scheduling to accomplish this task. The movers called first and arrived on time. They were very professional and took care in moving items from the home. We had 2 full truck loads of furniture and decorative items. The pick up was scheduled for 2 separate days, however the movers mentioned they could unload and return the same day to finish. I couldn't be happier with the entire process! Another benefit is The Lords Place thrift store returns 100% of the proceeds to the people who need it. Other organizations do not. I would highly recommend The Lords Place without hesitation. read more

You have to love thrift shopping, have patience, not mind being aggressive, and rubbing shoulders with all sorts of folks. You'll need to have an open mind. Plus no sandals are allowed so wear old clothes and closed shoes. It's an outlet center in name only. Think all the things you might find in a regular goodwill store-- except large furniture -- thrown in to rolling bins. All smushed together. The bins are in rows and you go up and down the rows digging through the piles of stuff to find what you might want. Periodically, they remove one of the rows and replace it with new bins. And everyone attacks the bins at once digging through each one for the "good stuff". There was China, housewares, toys, bric a brac, clothing, electronics, linens, shoes, etc. ,etc. In between you might find a designer purse or top. Or a collectible top or vintage vinyl record. When you're ready, you bring everything to the cashier where it's weighed. It's priced by the pound. Our entire haul was $3.33!!

To donate your hair, a minimum of 10 inches, section it into ponytails or braids. Cut off the length you want to donate and mail it over to Locks of Love. If you'd like a certificate of appreciation, fill out the donation form from their website or simply add your name and email address on a piece of paper and slip it into your donation package. They get back to you in a few weeks after they receive the donation. I'm glad they have a super user-friendly process, anyone can do this!

Donate for a good cause…read more.. I can't remember when I last had a haircut. I do remember that I have donated my hair to Locks of Love three times befor this. I may as well donate again! Locks of Love is a non-profit organization, based in West Palm Beach, Florida. I understand that the donated hair is used to make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy or some other mishap. Note: My hair is on the fine, thin side, so, they might be selling my hair to a wig maker as other reviews state. When the salons opened up last year around June of 2020 (after being closed due to the pandemic), I made an appointment for a haircut. The lady at the salon made a ponytail - about twelve inches long - and cut it off with a sharp scissors! It was kind of traumatic. I must have shown the shock on my face because she told me, "It will grow back!" Haha! I had photos of my long hair - almost to my waist - and the Ziploc bag that held my chopped off ponytail - before I mailed my donation to Florida. Too bad those photos are in my old phone... Oh, well... Maybe I can donate again in a few more years!

The exhibit included artwork depicting soccer to Polo. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday 12 noon to 5 PM, it is free to visit and there is plenty of on street parking nearby. I was welcomed in by a very pleasant greeter who shared information about the gallery and was obviously passionate about it. I found it very interesting that all artwork on display is by Palm Beach County artists. The gallery is bright and well curated. There is a small gift shop. Restrooms were very clean and well stocked. When visiting downtown Lake Worth, I recommend a visit to the cultural council for Palm Beach. You can see all that the gallery has to offer in less than one hour.

They also have bins in the back of the store if you want to just drop off the bags. For people who can't drop off or have large items of donation such as furniture, you can give them a call and schedule a time for pick up. I stopped in on a Thursday and was happy to find plenty of the weekly blue-tag specials still available for just $1.49. On this visit alone, I scored four pairs of pants, three shirts, a blazer, and a few household items for less than $40. The staff is always friendly. I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door, and I noticed team members actively informing shoppers about the blue-tag promotion so no one missed out on the savings. This Goodwill feels like a hidden gem. Between the quality of the inventory, the organized layout, and the welcoming staff, it's worth the drive in my opinion. As an added bonus, it's only about five minutes from a great Dominican restaurant, making it easy to turn a thrifting trip into a fun afternoon outing.

These people received over 20 something million bucks and all I seen was a new building built allow people will still waiting outside at parks on waiting list to get inside of shelters. Now there's a lot of people look like they're getting placed inside after being on this well a list for so long maybe a year 6 to 8 months but I've been told it's just because West Palm Beach wants the streets to look more clean that's why they're working faster they really don't give a damn about homeless people I actually went to seek help from the Lord's place a while ago and I was an immediate need of help and I was being threatened so I was hoping I can get help fast while trying to seek help by noticed that they was back dooring people in motels that they wanted to help so they wasn't following the program I even had a guy told me that one of the people there liked him maybe wanted to have relations so she got him in pretty fast in a motel while others were outside in the heat suffering. These places just want to sound good one thing I can say about the Lord's place is that they do offer meals to the homeless that's it but when they received all that money I never seen any help was given only to the ones that they wanted to and I also did some background searching and went on the owner's page and all I seen was fancy cars and yachts . West Palm Beach is so rich in the city why are people still on waiting lists read more

The Lord's Place helped me empty out my mother's house in Deerfield Beach, and I can't say enough good things about them. Crystal, the store manager, was incredibly helpful throughout the process. Not only did she arrange to pick up all the donated items ( which filled their 16 Ft. Truck four times!), but she also agreed to haul off all the junk. Pete and Eli, the two guys on the truck, were friendly, flexible, patient, and incredibly hard-working. This was not an easy job, but they made it as painless as possible and never lost their composure even when I was on the edge of losing mine. I would recommend this organization to anyone. They perform an excellent service to both their customers and their employees. Not only will you get the job done well, but you'll also have the added satisfaction of contributing to a worthy cause. By comparison, I made calls to Faith Farm, Goodwill, and Habitat for Humanity before I found out about the Lord's Place. NONE of them even called me back!
