It's a great bike shop, staffed by hard working employees and volunteers, and also a unique non profit that donates many many bikes to people in the local community. They also fixed my derailleur by finding and installing hard to find parts, when most other places would've tried to sell me a new derailleur. I donated a bicycle to this company, that's been here for a number of years. So I don't know if this review will be accurate as far as purchasing goes but obviously when you donate a bike, everything is nice nice. Due to covid they do not pick up any donations. I decided to deliver it myself. NP. The place seemed larger than I remember some years ago. There is a large array of different types of bicycles for all types of bicycle enthusiasts. As mentioned, I can't really compare prices since I made a donation. Make sure you get a receipt for income tax purposes. read more

When I took my bike in they explained to me the part which was the sprocket they didn't have in stock was going to take them to order it 2 to 3 weeks. And explained to me luckily that if they ordered the part it would cost them $80 bucks. They recommend that I pick the pick up and go on Amazon to order the sprocket which openly cost 25 bucks. So I do appreciate your honesty, but I will now be taking my bike somewhere else. read more

Stop here first before buying a bike. They have an interesting selection of all types of used bikes. Refurbished to new. Also if need a quick fix just pull in and if not too complicated they try to do it as you wait. It's a non profit so supporting them helps your community I got a bike fixed there while I waited and also donated a bike to be distributed to those in need. read more

Awesome place! Great, friendly, prompt service. Large selection of used bikes that have been tuned up properly. If you are looking for a high end road bike or mountain bike, etc. go elsewhere. If you want something for casual around town riding buy it here. You'll pay way less! For example, I bought a nice beach cruiser for $225 that would have been $400+ new. It'll serve my needs for the foreseeable future. The place also benefits charity...So it's a win win. read more

I called Jack the Bike Man while looking for an after school program for an opportunity for some kids in foster care to earn bikes. I volunteer with Guardian Ad Litem and I work with many families in the dependency system. They worked with me on scheduling a program for the kids to work in the shop and learn and build their own bikes. It was such an incredible experience for us all! Jack and his crew are so kind and caring and they are truly bicycle experts. They are great with kids too! I was so impressed with every representative of their shop. Guy was very rude when I asked if they could do a discount on a $500 bike. One employee was very helpful but the guy with the buzz cut and baggy clothes was a jerk. Not going back. I understand why there can't be a discount but the way he said it plus the lecture was not necessary. read more

I purchase all my bicycles from Jack. Why? First, he has a huge selection of road, beach, cruiser, childrens, youth, mountain, vintage, 3-wheel, and even some funky freak-bikes; I bought my wife and I cruisers, my son a mountain, and my daughter a paul frank with pink skulls on it! Second, their prices are reasonable; no Wal-mart cheap but they are reasonable. Finally, when you buy a bike your money goes to help continue the amazing programs here. He gives away bikes to deserving children in our community, he has a trainee program where young people learn to fix bicycles, and he takes a container of childrens bicycles to South America to give out. Just came back from a tube and tire repair and was met with fantastic service. Ilia helped me and was able to repair my tube and tire within 20 minutes, charge me small amount of money for the tire and told me that he was going to give me the tube, which I decided to pay the eight dollars for as a type of donation. The place is filled with used, cool bikes and will be coming here for any repair or purchase needs. Thanks guys! read more

I think Mr. Jack is a bit over is head with this business and as a result takes it out on his customers. I did research for a bike shop and stumbled upon "Jack the Bike Man." I read about the work he does for charity and was impress and decided if im goind to spend money i would want it to go towards one of his charity and the kids that he helps. I went and Gabriel, the gentleman that helped me was very knowledgable about bikes and helped me choose something i was comfortable with. I met Jack and another gentleman in the back office to pay and them too was very pleasant and personably. I was so please i shared my experience with a few coworkers and spread the good word about the work Mr. Jack is doing. Since then, three of my coworkers have purchased bikes. I purchased the bike on feb 12 for $180. Days later i went for a ride and the chain came off. I thought nothing more than it was something i did. Only on two seperate occasions after that the chain fell off again. Not to mention that i was having issues with the L handle gear and it felt like i was riding in mud and not on a road bike. I know i purchased a used bike and expected some issues. I called and informed Mr. Jack of this and he told me to bring it in as this is covered under warranty. Days later i finally went to have it looked at. The gentlemen on the floor immediatlely came to help and check out the bike to see what was wrong. I told them i was having issues with the chain. Immediately they saw the problem and without me even saying more they mentioned a few other things that was wrong with the bike that was unbeknowst to me. So i asked if thats why i found it so difficult to peddal and felt like dispite my efforts wasnt getting far when riding. I told them i honestly just rather get another used bike and pay the difference cause this one has way too many problems. They told me to talk with Jack and so i attempted. I approached Jack and let him know of all the issues and told i will purchased another used bike, one of higher quality and pay the difference. He walked away mid sentence and looked obviously annoyed. He spoke with the gentleman that was fixing my bike and then said to me with such attitude and aggression, "I rather just fix the bike, there is nothing wrong with the bike." So i said there is obviously something wrong because i was told it will take about 30mins to fix, when they already was working on it for a good 20mins. He started to say, "you think i can just give another bike to everyone that comes in here wanting a bike if they don't like the one they bought." I responded and said no, but if there is something....He walked away in the middle of me trying to have a conversation. I followed him to his office after a few minutes of realizing he had no intention of coming back. I asked for a minute to talk and he said "i have deadlines, im very busy." I told him i understood, but i just wanted to say i found his attitude and behavior very disrespectful and unprofessional and informed him i have had three people come to purchase bikes that i told about the place but now regretted i did because he is being so rude. He started to yell saying "you bought a use bike what do you expect." I asked not to be yelled at and that once again he is showing how rude and unprofessional he is and that is no way to treat a customer. i said out loud i wish there was a way to get a refund because i do not wish to do any further business with someone wh would treat a customer and yell at a woman the way he did. He snatched my receipt, realized i paid with a credit card and said out loud, "can't give a refund to a credit." He then goes in his pocket, took out his wallet and placed two $100 bills on the counter and said "Since i'm such a horrible person, im going to pay you out of my own money and keep the change," and he then walked away. I left that place and i will never return. I hope that the kids that he is raising money for does not have any contact with him because they should not have such volatile person as any form of a role model. The way he behaved and treated a customer was unacceptable and inexcusable. Word of advice Mr. Jack, all the good you do and money you raise to donate does not make you a good person. Treat others how you would want to be treated, especially your customers. read more

Amazing service. Riding my bike on South Ocean Boulevard today and got a flat tire. I was seven miles away from my home. Called Jack, whom I had never used before, explained my predicament and he kindly appeared within 15 minutes with two workers who replaced my inner tube and had me up and riding very quickly. I am new at riding and got a used bike off of c/l. The thing had some issues and they were able to fix them with a more than fair price.
