I have been going to The Lotus Pond for years. This is my favorite yoga studio in all of the Tampa Bay area. When you arrive at the location you feel like you're in the middle of the woods, the studio is actually a log cabin. It's such a peaceful place, all of the instructors and employees have this peaceful nature about them that makes you feel right at home and relaxed. The instructors (the owner Val is my favorite) really know how to create an environment where the yoga just flows and your mind is present. They do a great job of making sure you breathe properly and get into the poses at just the right time without making you feel uncomfortable about not doing something correctly. They host retreats on all sorts of topics over the weekends and they also do yoga teacher training. If you have never been and want to give Yoga a try, check this place out! read more

This yoga studio is a haven! It's so peaceful and makes you feel one with nature. I've done a few classes here and I always feel so relaxed. The studio is very cautious of COVID so masks are required but you can remove it once you get to your mat. The outside of the studio features a broom and garden where you are encouraged to walk around and enjoy the serenity. I love the gentle yoga classes as recovery. The instructors give amazing cues and other modifications if needed. This has become my escape from the hectic world and I love having somewhere like this where I can decompress. read more

I attended a retreat at the Lotus Pond and it is a really peaceful place. I never tried yoga before, and since my women's professional group does an annual retreat here I thought it would be a good time to try it. This really is a good place to if you are a beginner because the instructors are very helpful. To be honest, I don't think yoga is for me, but just spending the day out there in nature and in the big beautiful cabin-like room was relaxing. This is absolutely my favorite yoga studio in Tampa. This is the most tranquil, Zen and beautiful yoga studio I've gone to. Honestly there's just something very majestic about this studio. It's one of my go to happy places. I love the nature room that that overlooks the nature area in the back. I am in love with the front porch area where you could sit and relax in a nice rocking chair. The staff here is super nice and welcoming. I love all the different classes that they offer and even online opportunities to take classes as well. I started off with the six week beginners yoga class. They also offer a one month unlimited classes for new students for only $75. This studio always has fun things going on and even yoga retreats. One of my favorite events they did was silent yogo glow flow. I can't wait for them to bring that back. Truthfully It doesn't matter where I live I still travel from Riverview to the studio from time to time. There's NO studio like Lotus Pond! Please go check them out. read more

I attended the 8th Annual Yogi Fest here and the space is beautiful! They have a lake with a waterfall in the back and it's so soothing. This was my first yoga class and a the instructors were super friendly and helpful. If made me feel less awkward for not being super great at it yet. I'll definitely take more classes.. read more

Today I stumbled upon the most beautiful yoga studio I've ever seen, Lotus Pond Yoga Center, in Tampa. I took a Hatha flow class to see how I felt in this space - the class was in an outside room, surrounded by trees and the sound of water tinkling in the distance. Margie led the class with poise, beginning with wonderful breathing techniques and a smile behind her eyes. We moved through deep stretching, balance poses, breathing, and an all around deepening of our practice. One of the most enjoyable and warm (inviting, not temperature. I cant rave about The Lotus Pond enough. Community yoga with Val is always an amazing way to end a Monday and start the week off right. Mary- She is such a skilled instructor. The planning and preparation she puts into each class is priceless. She has a way of teaching that enables all students from beginner to advanced to enjoy her class. Richard- His classes are one of a kind. His fast pace strength and balance class is an all time favorite. I enjoy his choice in music and his ability to break down the most difficult balance postures. He is patient, kind, and a wonderful instructor. The new juice bar is fantastic. I really enjoyed my Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra training at the Yoga Pond. Because I travelled from out of town for the training it was very helpful to have the Val's Airbnb on-site to have a place to stay that was convenient and allowed me to travel without the need to rent a car. The facilities are wonderful = it's a bonus to have the fresh juice and the staff super nice. I can't speak for daily yoga offerings but very much enjoyed coming here for training. While the building and grounds are beautiful, the clientele are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered. Maybe it was just the classes I attended. I hope so. To me, yoga is supposed to about taking time to take care of your mind and body. It's not supposed to be about interrupting class to the point that the instructor has to stop and wait for you to finish your conversation about shopping and going to the beach to drink, etc. It's not about you fundraising for your political party while class is supposed to be going on (if it hadn't been stopped by the teacher, I was ready to walk out on that one). Or just generally being a rude ass and only caring about yourself. This happened so many times that when my schedule didn't allow me to attend my regularly scheduled class it was a relief. That's when I decided to stop being miserable and paying for the privilege. I do hope that their clientele has improved and the rude people have gone onto the next 'in' thing. read more

Tucked away in a cluster of trees behind a residential community, the Lotus Pond is one of Tampa's best kept secrets. When I arrived on the property, the entrance opened up to a beautiful clearing with native plants surrounding a log cabin. It's hard to believe that this peaceful haven has sat here since 2009, amid the hubbub of Tampa's busy communities and the Veteran's movie theater less than a mile away. Entering the cabin, I was greeted by yoga-esque music and a girl at the desk who directed me to the classrooms. The cabin hosts two good-sized indoor yoga rooms and an outdoor room. The outdoor room is screened in to keep the bugs out, but to let the class experience the nature around them. The class I took with Val, the owner, was a stress relief class and was filled with people at all levels of yoga capabilities. Val taught the class with grace and ease that accommodated everyone where they were in their own practice. There were modifications for beginners and intermediates alike. The class ended with a relaxing savasana that brought me to a still center that I took with me after I left. The Shanti Tea room was offering tea for those wanting to linger and catch up with friends or who wanted to grab a tea to go. John has carefully selected the teas for the shop and their purity and exquisiteness are just the right touch after a yoga class. read more

The Lotus Pond and The Lotus Room owned by Valerie is one of the most healing organizations in town. I have thanked Valerie many times in the past for her work and organizations. I went to the Lotus Room for years and did yoga and meditation. It helped me get my mind and body together in the years that I really needed it. The teachers were wonderful. I was always amazed at how caring everyone was in these places. If I ever had any kind of a problem emotionally or physically the Yoga teachers were always there to talk to and help. They gave me more than therapies, but they gave me a family. I followed them up to the Lotus Pond after the Lotus Room shut down and it was wonderful out there. There are awesome wonderful workshops on meditation and drumming and chanting and everything else under the eastern sun. There are fantastic weekend workshops introducing eastern philosophies in healing. I will always refer everyone I meet to the lotus pond for getting their mind and bodies together. I would give this review five stars but I had a horrible experience with the Ayurveda School and practitioner at this facility. They really hurt me physically, financially, and were outrageously harmful to me in every accord. In fact, I have never had such an outrageously horrible experience in my life. Please go to a real Vedic doctor for such therapies and not Balance and Bliss, as they have shown me to be people who do not care about the clients they treat. If you stay away from the Ayurveda therapies at the Lotus Pond, but rather stick to the yoga, meditation, and weekend classes your experience will be wonderful. I have thanked Valerie a few of times in the past for what she does and the place she put together and I still do. read more

It is said that "Comparison is the thief of joy," and that's what my love for The Pond does for my experience at just about every other yoga studio in which I step foot! The sheer beauty of this place is unmatched, from the trees to the pond, it's truly serene. Though I've not taken every teacher's class, I've never taken one I didn't care for. Val's Monday class made me fall in love with yoga, and when I was ready to complete my Teacher Training, there was not even another option to consider. I developed lifelong friendships with my Sangha, and for that, among many other reasons, the Pond will always be #1 in my heart! Please treat yourself to time here. read more

My class was kind of cramped up with around 30 people and not a single spot left on the floor. Lotus Pond is a yoga studio in a wooded area off Lynn Rd. It's been there for years, though if you weren't looking for it you might never come across it- the studio has undergone a transformation and it is now expanded to three classrooms (one outside and screened in) a juice bar and small retail area. The class variety ranges from beginner to more advanced although anyone is welcome in all classes. The teachers are all capable and well trained - as is the case with yoga each has a different "style" of teaching and it is a matter of getting to know which classes and which teachers are best suited for the students preferences. I've been coming here on and off over many years so I can recommend a couple of teachers in particular. Nancy macDonald is a excellent Yoga Nidra and restorative teacher (guided meditation and gentle yoga ) and she makes an appearance very few months usually on Saturdays or Sunday early evenings. Shelly and Mel are great for the regular classes. The only things I'd the owners to improve is to make a policy that stops late students from coming in once the class starts, it's pretty disruptive to others who made a point to be on time. There's always 3 or 4 who are walking in a few minutes late and once the initial stretch has begun. Also would like them to pave their driveway and parking area. Even though students leave their shoes at the door, dirt gets tracked inside and feels icky on the feet as you walk around barefooted inside. read more
