I met Thomas many years back when he was just teaching and now he owns the studio. He is very nice to work with but I prefer a more vigorous work out without high impact and Lucien offers the perfect balance. I get a great workout without impacting my "old" joints. He helps my neck and low back pain issues as well. I like Ji Woo's sessions as well but it doesn't fit my schedule. It wasn't easy to find at first because signage was not helpful at first, but the studio is in the back of an office building and you would miss it if the sign was not outside. I don't know the other teachers but everyone has their own needs and I would definitely recommend trying the studio out.

Also like Rachel's class, but the time interferes with another class that I take. The Zoom classes are very convenient and well taught. I don't even have to watch it, just listen to Thomas' very specific instructions. His yoga has helped heal every injury I've had. Broken leg, 2 broken wrists, hip joint problems, and kept me healthy since he opened his studio. Much more so than physical therapy or Dr recommendations. Recently drum, gong, and singing bowl sound meditations have been added approx. monthly. Love those too and wouldn't miss them for the world.

It's not a typical vinyasa flow class but that's why I love it. My body was way off kilter from years of sitting at a computer, playing collegiate sports, carrying around my kids, etc. and Liz has done more to re-balance my alignment than all my PT, chiropractors, massage therapy, etc combined. She does a good job modifying poses for beginners but it's every bit as challenging and intense as you want/make it. It's essentially preventative physical therapy for me and I can't recommend it enough. Also, Cydney the owner has done a great job with the studio. It's small, clean, and peaceful and a great place to take a class.

Obviously things build up and I needed a way to release all my pent up stress, anxiety, nerves, emotions instead of channeling it back into activities. I found Body & Brain Yoga on Groupon (they currently have a 10 sessions for $39.00 special). Body & Brain is incredible because it focuses on the meridians and energies of the organs, using ancient Far Eastern concepts on energy. I did a private session today with owner, Julia Chung and I just signed up for more classes. Julia is a kindred spirit. She's highly educated (PH.D./engineer) and left her cushy corporate job to pursue her soul's passion. She's really funny, really smart and incredibly compassionate. She's also a Life Coach and is patient and an amazing listener. I'm so thankful to have met her! As for the class. The "wooden pillow" class was interesting. It's definitely different than anything I have taken before but it's a lot of meditation, breathing, and using a wooden "pillow" as a massage tool. It's kind of like "myofascial release" in personal training where you use a Styrofoam roller to target key muscles and your lower back/temples. Julia also uses aromatherapy in her classes and ends each class with a circle and healing tea. The entire session was perfect because my stress was gone and it was a different experience than traditional gym (running/lifting) as well as Hatha yoga. I definitely recommend that you try it because it's an experience that I can't describe. I look forward to trying the other different classes (they have tai-chi, dahn yoga, energy classes, etc) and learning about new ways to not only de-stress but also get in touch with my true self!

I was blown away by this experience and definitely want to come back for more bodywork. Tony created an encompassing ambiance of sounds, rhythm and breathing. His audible breathing, vocal sounds, and other sound making helped me focus on keeping my breathing deep and long. Tony guided me through visuals, imaging flowers or clovers were releasing out from the body, etc. these all really worked for me and sometimes connected very directly in my brain and body to poetry I've written. The bodywork was awesome, but the added energy stuff, etc. was a whole amazing experience, some of it not unlike a psychedelic experience in some ways. I had thought the tuning forks would be weird when I saw on the website that he used them, but I loved it. I had a big emotional release when we were working on my right hip/glutes. I had no idea what was in there and why (in part) it's been so continually sore and resistant to letting go of that tension. And now I do, and now I have some relief. I so appreciate Tomy encouraging me on the table that I was doing a good job letting go and reminding me to thank my body. I definitely recommend Tony for deep work, especially if you're looking to connect with your body and uncover areas that need loving attention both physically and emotionally. I saw Tony for the first time this weekend. And I must say, the experience was life-changing. I have had chronic pain for as long as I can remember, and I've gotten massages before; ultimately, though, the massages end up making me feel more pain, and sore for the following few days. I am a spiritual person by nature (pun intended), who subscribes to paganism, so the process of a typical massage is always not enough for me. It wasn't until late one night, that I was crying because of pain, that I realized I needed more; something bigger than myself, to help me get back on track with my life. To get me back into my body. To get me back to feeling like myself. Emotionally and physically, Tony guided me through letting go of emotional and physical pains in our two hour shamanic massage. The service was again, life changing. From the first moment of smudging me with sage, to the emotional releases of tension and hurtful emotions, he truly knows what he's doing, and is an incredibly kind soul. He's truly gifted. I haven't felt this good in so long, and I definitely intend on going back. Since meeting with Tony, my pain has been cut in half, and I've told absolutely everyone I know about this experience. I just had one of the best massages of my life! I get regular massages from all types of places including asian parlors to high-end spas around the world. Tony was very professional and worked to meet the needs of my body. I left refreshed and relaxed. I appreciated that he worked to get all the kinks and knots out of my back. I highly recommend this place. It is easy to find, but I was unsure at first. The facility is located in a residential area. You need to walk along side the house on the street parallel to the home address. He keeps the door locked for privacy, so be patient for your assigned time. This was hands down the most incredible, spiritual, amazing massage! Tony was extremely welcoming and flexible with my schedule. I had a Groupon that was about to expire. Tony agreed to honor the Groupon and let me schedule a couple of weeks out. The massage was thorough and relaxing. The session in his home had a different feel to the usual massage in a professional spa. Tony uses imagery and language to go along with the session. I have followed him through a variety of locations as his practice has grown, but every facility has always had a very peaceful and serene design. I can feel the stress beginning to drain as soon as I am in the environment. Shame on me, but I don't indulge as often as I should (and for me with a bad back, massage should really be viewed as therapy and treatment as opposed to a luxury or indulgence). The various packages and incentives that are offered (and do change from time to time) really do make sense and are worth investigating. I have to drive to the office, so parking can sometimes be a bit dicey and I have not been that lucky about snagging same-day appointments. Also, after the initial assessment, John-Michael does tend to be silent, however for me, that is a plus, as it frees me from the burden of making small talk and lefts me drift away and enjoy. If you are in need of a theraputic or simply a relaxing massage, I recommend a visit to John-Michael.

I don't know why massage is considered a luxury in this county, cause it makes me feel a hell of a lot better than a trip to the doctor. He is able to read your body after a few massages and then tailors them individually based on injuries, pain, inflammation. He also is amazing with working on stretching and healing. Don't go to stretch lab, call JIM! I think he charges too little for his services, he is that amazing.
