Highly recommended by my friends that went to undergrad at Ole Miss. We visited on a game day weekend, so there was already a line before open. As other reviews mentioned, this place is unique, the owner is very friendly, but the wait is very long. We waited close to two hours despite only a handful of parties in front of us. This is a review about an Angel. A real life one in Oxford, Mississippi. Tucked behind a small shopping center, you'll find an empty bus and The Luv Shak. You might not see an open sign lit but it's open between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Before you drive out, if you want to be sure they are open you'll need to look on IG for the post from Dennis, aka the owner, an Angel. As I drove up, I was thinking how in the world can they survive with limited hours and limited days. Then I went in, saw a group of Ole Miss kids waiting for their order, one playing pin ball - for free because the machine doesn't take quarters. For you younger people reading, we used to need quarters if we wanted any type of fun. I order from Dennis as he multi-tasked being the Chef, the host, and the cashier. I notice how inexpensive the food is. It looks expensive! Ambiance is quaint, unique and a staple of the Ole Miss area. Service is great considering Dennis does it all. Do not come here hangry - save your tude for another place. Come with patience and kindness, it's The LUV Shak! If you don't know now you know, Dennis probably doesn't make much selling his food, he's doing it for love. He's admirable. $10 for his dishes and if you get one, he's under selling his food. After speaking to him, he makes food for people in the area and he doesn't raise his prices so they can eat his good food, told ya, he's an Angel. Let's get into it! The owner makes the bagels from scratch and the sandwiches are made while you're standing there. He is personable and so much fun to chat with. The place is cool and eclectic. The luv shak is a must try in Oxford ms! Not only is there amazing food but there are INSANELY GOOD BAGELS on Sundays! I have had the luv shak on my must try list for at least a month!!!!! the guy that makes all their stuff is like a bagel professional and knows what hes talking about. i chatted with him for a good 10 minutes while in line. lets just say get there early on sundays... he taught me all about how to keep my leftover bagels good- and i listened. truly a great experience and he gave me a free one. the food is top teir and the luv shak is the cutest little place and everyone signs there names. me and my friend wrote our names and it has the coolest lighting. very little seats as it is a shak. i think they usually have a patio thing going butt it was raining so i didnt see. read more

Showed up and there were only 3 people ahead of us in line...literally AN HOUR LATER and we are still in line!! It's one thing to be friendly, it's another to be completely annoying and talk about your entire life story with anyone who will listen ... we are customers, not therapists. Make no mistake about it...the line that is always here is not because of the food quality but because it takes 30 minutes for the one employee to make a freaking bagel! So despite being in Oxford for the past 4 years and living within walking distance, I never knew this place existed. But oh how my life has changed now that i know there is a delicious Italian joint nearby. After meeting the people who run the LuvShak, I for sure will be back. Worth finding, Sunday morning bagels as they should be, about as good as I have found outside of NY. Taylor Ham + egg + cheese + cream cheese and you can't go wrong. Raisin Bagel, Plain Bagel, Everything Bagel all really good. It takes a bit as they are cooked to order, but worth the wait. Definitely doing this one again. read more

Drove by and always saw the sign stopped by today and tried it for the first time. It's small and nice. The people running it were incredible and great to converse with. The are open Monday-Friday 4-8PM. They offer one meal a night. Tonight is Wednesday and they have Wacky Wednesday which they randomly choose a dish. Tonight was cheese ravioli and it was incredible. Well, let me start by saying you know what your getting into when you come to this place. Obviously only one worker and everything is made to order. I would call ahead on everyday other than Sunday (does not do call ahead orders Sunday). On Sundays if you want a bagel I would not recommend. Lines can take upwards to 2 hours and it's absurd. 2 hours (or more) for a mediocre bagel... yea that's a no from me dawg. Found this place on Yelp and had dinner here last night. The service was great. It would have been a 5 star review but the marinara sauce was sweeter than I prefer (sorry, I'm a garlic lover). The portion was huge (chicken parm was the nightly entree). Will be back to try other nights - Monday's are meatball and Tuesday is tortellini. Will also try the Sunday breakfast. read more
