Ok, strap in, because the truth I am about to reveal should make anyone seeking employment weak in the knees! Adecco has been my employment GO-TO for decades...all the way back in 2000ish, they hooked me up with the best position I had ever had (up to that point in my career) at a business called PrimeCo, soon to be re-branded as T-Mobile. The…read moreyoung woman who greeted me was dismissive and argumentative when I tried to provide valid identification, I told I had a valid drivers license and a valid US passport, but I would have to bring the passport back. We went back and forth several times - I reiterated that I had a US passport to verify both my identity and work eligibility, but she kept saying she would only accept my driver's license now and that I must return later with my Social Security card. Despite my explanation, she repeatedly told me that I "Didn't Understand" and insisted that she needed my Social Security card specifically. Her tone was condescending, and she ultimately dismissed me and told me, "I DON'T have to take your application". Her unwillingness to accept my valid US passport and her insistence on the Social Security card - combined with her abrupt and dismissive attitude - left me feeling as though I was being unfairly judged or Even discriminated against..... Maybe she didn't believe I had a social Security card because I'm Hispanic.
